They have a game in hand. But don't worry folks, it's against Man United at Old Trafford.

He was in the Itchen

JFP in poor attempt to be funny shock

But he has games like last night quite often. He shows those qualities at times, but more often than not he has been ordinary. IMO he has been average for quite a while now and has been living off his 2006/07 season form. I don't understand why people think he could play in the Premiership. Even some of the best players in the Championsh*t have struggled to make the step up recently (eg. Nugent, Earnshaw etc) How is someone like Surman, who hasn't exactly stood out, (how often does Surman take the game by the scruff of the neck and really influence things for us?) expected to cut it at the highest level? If he was that good he wouldn't have been dropped for Mario Licka. Also, he's 23 this year, so I think it's about time people stopped using the oh he's too young excuse.
-
Can't see it. What do people see in Surman? Such an average player, even amongst the rubbish in this league.

I don't know what you're complaining about. As SRS says, you must surely know by now which sections fans like to stand in and which like to sit down? You know full well that some people like to stand in the Itchen North, there's plenty of other places you can sit. I'm glad we have at least some sections stood up during games. Makes for a much better atmosphere.

One of our better players IMO. Has generally done well for us, very good passer of the ball. Much rather have him in the team than Paul 'hoof ball' Wotton. It annoyed me that JP would sub him in every game. Would always have him in the starting eleven when fit.
-
I didn't think it was that clear cut either to be honest.
-
No he isn't what we need at all. He is not Championship quality. I remember last week at Ipswich everyone was passing it around brilliantly, Wotton just came on and mindlessly booted it everywhere whenever the ball came near him. He is garbage.

Agree re those chants. The Pompey one was stolen from Man United after people heard them singing it about City when we played them in the cup.
-
Why not just move then? It's not like there wasn't loads of spare seats.
-
Bit of a disappointing performance today. We started ok first 20 minutes or so, but after that we never really got into the game. I can't remember any real clear cut chances we had. Highlight of the game was when Schneiderlin made Bowyer look like a mug. Good support in terms of numbers from our fans today, although the atmosphere was pretty quiet for most of the game. Certainly not as good as the support at Ipswich.

Loved the Mega Drive, really wished I hadn't sold mine now. The three in one Streets of Rage/Golden Axe/Shinobi was a classic, as were Sonic, Toejam and Earl, Coolspot etc.... So many great games.

Yeah, I'd sure hate for us to have a **** home record of 12 wins 3 draws and 3 defeats.

Football Manager 2009 - Southampton Save Game Thread
Papa Shango replied to Matthew Le God's topic in Computer Games
Euell should be all 20s based on last night. -
Thing is, if someone had said that about Skacel he wouldn't have had that reaction. It's just because it was his mate Paterson that he got all upset. I don't see why young players should be immune from criticism on here. (By the way I quite like Paterson, and don't really agree with Nexstar on that thread)
-
He needs to grow up. He threw he toys out the pram because someone dared to criticise his mate Paterson. Are people only allowed to criticise older players on here now then?
-
Speaking as someone who was a huge Nigel Pearson fan, I agree. Wotte has done a great job so far, the football we played tonight was excellent, Ipswich barely got a sniff. If he keeps it going then he can say what he likes in the press about us fans as far as I'm concerned.
-
Just got back, still buzzing. Amazing performance again, everyone did their bit. Euell was absoulte class. It's a travesty that he was frozen out earlier in the season. Our fans were brilliant, non stop singing all game, best away support in terms of noise all season (even with the Ipswich stewards being dicks as usual trying to get everyone to sit down) The only way we'll go down now is if we get injuries to key players. The team out there tonight is as good as most teams in this league and will win more games than they lose.

And then lost to Southend, who hadn't won in about 3 months at the time.
