  1. What is this about kids, we only started with 3 youngsters today
  2. We will not win many away games without any pace in the side, and we have none. Harding is the quickest player in our current starting line up. We are playing too narrow, we have no width for an out ball, MS is constantly looking to play out wide but has no one there. Agree the he is playing PW to support MS, but we need a replacement for PW who does not give the ball away so much. As a team we are giving the ball away far too much, we would be murdered even playing in the Championship with this side. That said with a couple of signings in the right areas we have the basis of a decent team.
  3. Biggest problem today was out wide in midfield, neither James nor Lallanaare natural wide midfielders, we lacked an outball and they exploited it. There number 26 was very good, and just as well that 22 didn't come on earlier he ran the show when he came on. AP can we have them please in addition to a couple of wide players. Harding showed good pace, Murty adds some footballing brain, and looks a bit of a character, hope we can get to to add a column to our site!
  4. I thought that most opinion formers on here didn't attend the matches!
  5. Hope not, I think a previous manager of ours once said something like no one called Rupert could possibly know anything about football.
  6. I too hope that they invite John Mortimore as a guest. A true football person, a gentleman, and one of the few English managers to win a league abroad, he is a regular at our academy games and is a very approachable and knowledgeable person.
  7. Good point, well made! A long term appointment, someone with experience at all the levels we find ourselves now and hope to find ourselves in the future. Hope he has made up with Arsene, I would love to see a few Arsenal youngsters down here!
  8. You never know we may get some stability, he has managed at all the levels we want to get back up to, so it may be the long term appointment we need
  9. Sent £25 via internet banking.
  10. Ok with me, should be a fixed amount say £10, so we all have a chance in the draw, my vote would be for a local lad like Jamie White
  11. Yes I agree, he was one of the successes last season, a quality player for our future
  12. Its to continue the Dutch revolution, Van Basten leaves Ajax to join Saints!
  13. Seems he doesn't like opposition in his day job http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/industry_sectors/banking_and_finance/article6159753.ece
  14. My son and I are in Milan to watch AC this weekend (we are season ticket holders at SMS so the club has our money already). We have brought our Saints shirts to wear, we will try and tap up Golden Balls for a few quid.
  15. Maybe, but I would rather struggle for results with a load of kids playing good football than struggle with a load of experienced pros playing hoofball like a large part of last season.
  16. No comment on the board, but despite the poor results I am enjoying watching a load of youngsters out there trying their hardest to play good football. Today was a superb game.
  17. Surman was crocked on Friday, it was a surprise he saw that game through. However I did say on Friday that that could be the last time we see him play for Saints. I hope not, more likely to end up at Reading than Fulham I would have thought.
  18. I am not a great Leon Crouch fan, but what he says has a lot of sense except for the assertion that gates would have remained above 20,000 in Pearson had still been here. There are no facts to back this up, there is no one reason why gates have dipped, and you cannot say we would have been any more successful on the pitch if Pearson had stayed.
  19. I will bet the £1 store does not become the 97.5p store on Monday!
  20. Shrewsbury had taken the lead five minutes after half-time as Jamie White beat Tony Roberts from 20 yards having started the move. Started and played for 80 mins
  21. I agree, he never had the chance to put his foot on the ball.
  22. Don't agree, they are not Terry Hurlock or Robbie Savage but both can tackle, but they did'nt need to tonight, it was probably the cleanest game of the season.
  23. I think 5 points from those two is not possible, but any other number from 0 to 6 is!
  24. Sounds like any one of a few hundred Tyro league managers I can think of!
  25. Is Schneiderlin the difference? Yes
