Now, me and Adrian have had a few ding dongs in the past but I really dont see the point in what you have posted here tbh. Sorry to tell you that you've gone and wasted you're time again. Lovren was a excellent excellent CB for us, he really was and many of us feared him leaving as it didnt seem likely that he would be so easily replaced. Nobody could guess the complete capitulation in form he was going to have at Liverpool either. Now, Lovren, early season last year was performing as arguably one of the best CBs in the league, he definately tailed off towards the end but was still very good. Alderweireld however, IMO, is the best CB I have ever seen in a saints shirt, his athleticism, positioning, strength and ability on the ball is far far better than Ive seen. He really is quality. Agreed that two of the 'arguably' best 3 DMs in the prem infront of our defence, and now what seems like a very competant (yet on here much maligned) goalkeeper behind them probably makes their job easier. So no, I dont see what he has got wrong here at all Not saying adrian has anything wrong, nor saying TA a bad player etc. Just pointing out that a year has changed the view of Lovren but his progress / increase in marketability was much greater than Toby. Lovren was not highly thought of and then proved himself in a top league. TA joined us on loan when we were tipped for relegation. His club were happy to agree to quite a low fee. Surely if bigger club / better deal was around he would have gone elsewhere? He was already a regular international player. He had played in a decent amount of games league, cup and CL for the Spanish title winners, hardly unproven or unknown. Main thing noticed about Adrian's post was how he talked about Lovren as having dodgy games, and not raving about him, protected by midfield, inconsistent etc However 12 months ago, before he left and performed badly for Liverpool (but after dodgy games for us) he was "fantastic" "one of best CBs in prem". Not knocking Adrian as its natural and we all feel same. But TA may end up a star for us, or elsewhere but his first season was not, if we are totally honest and try to be objective, a class above Lovrens. Think some of Lovrens performances were amazing last season.

If we sign him I am claiming ITK as I was keen on him last summer, quality quality player and only 20yr old. Also the links with Newcastle appear to be a smoke screen used by Ashley to deflect away from Carver et al, Mitrovic's manager and agent have denied both the story of newcastle and the Anderlecht forum guys are saying its being used by them to drive up the price of the other interested parties. Season is nearly over and let the games begin.

dunno but 32 goals this season at Wolves is not too shabby.

The thing I noticed about Gazza the other night in the cup game that I hadn't seem much of from Fraser and Kelvin this season was how often he came out and claimed or punched the ball which eased the pressure on the defence significantly. Watching De Gea/Courtois they always do the same thing but I think we can think of at least 3-4 goals that we conceded this year where an attacker has won the ball in our 6yard box. I'd be keen to see Gazza play in the Hugo Lloris style role for us, he is significantly a better footballer than Kelvin and Fraser so he could push up further and for the occasionally charlie adams v courtois moment that might occur his high starting position would stop the sort of goals that villa scored agains't us this season.

Nathaniel Clyne Joins Liverpool - Official
Convict Colony replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
Agree it's his right and something we took advantage of signing him. -
Personally I think CL clubs would think Benteke is too inconsistent for the money being asked when they can spend that money elsewhere on a guaranteed source of goals. Playing sh8t most of the season and scoring some goals near the end of the season does not a 30mil striker make (Costa was 32mil). I think someone who is an improvement on Villa could secure him for 23-27mil as long they also realise that they will also be a stepping stone as a proving ground before his next step, very much like Clyne's career progression.

He's not a DM he plays as the most advance midfielder and is the 1 behind pelle in our 4-2-1-3 formation. I haven't got a problem with his football it's just his lack of scoring and assists I have for someone who plays in that position

Thankfully your not our accountant amigo OUT; Clyne - £20m Toby - £1m fee from Athletico Morgan - £30m Jay Rod - £14m £55m Its actually 65M

I'd like to see what Elia could do in the AM role, he has pace, technique, tonnes of tricks and can be very direct.
-
There is also Erkisen (10), Chadli (10), Walters (7), Naismith (6), Barnes (5), Boyd (5) etc etc, the point is that it is that if Spurs, Stoke, Everton and Burnley can find an AM who scores goals then I'd expect us to be able to find one at least.
-
Today Steve Davis reverted to the 500k midfielder we paid for.
-
Chadli 10 goals as midfielder Eriksen 10 goals as midfielder JWP 1 goal as midfielder Davis 0 goals as midfielder If we don't by a scoring AM midfielder in the summer I am gonna have to get a new drum to bang.
-
I feel Toby will score today

If there is one thing Liverpool do well is selling their delusions of grandeur that innocent foreign players fall for and then get locked in to a 4yr contract with little hope of escape during which time their houses get broken into while they play away from home.

Saints Player of the Season vote goes live
Convict Colony replied to SaintLiam's topic in The Saints
His 40yarder winner at hull and his winner at Swansea more than made up for it Either Jose or Vic in my book this season but think Jose will win as the added sentimental factor will count in his favour along with the leadership he showed dealing with the issues off the pitch. Both worthy winners in my book along with Bertrand who has been fantastic all season. -
