You were right to not rate him as highly as many on here. quite a few uturns on various threads from people with there views on Adkins now. They didnt have the courage of their convictions at the time though to dare too speak about any of his frailties and flaws. but we're quick enough to lambast the ones that did.
  2. 15:07 Comment From Lard Really hope we can make some big money signings next season
  3. Oh god,the live news feed on the news website is so nauseating. havent manged to get a post in yet,unfortunately....they must be vetting all and sundry. it is quite vomit inducing some of the stuff being written on there. "pack the park.".."we are the best fans in the world"...."will definitely be ready for a pompey party...."hope they open the other stands for the next home game"......"I might just get a ticket for the next game".....so very sickening.....yet mildly amusing too.
  4. Looking forward to hearing about who found all the horcruxes
  5. R.I.P Margaret Thatcher, she had more balls than any other Prime Minister in the modern era. Remarkable Woman.
  6. No Pearce in the Reading starting line up.....Quelle Surprise.
  7. Pochettino.....whatever the outcome today,MP is a longterm replacement for what was the short term NA.
  8. I will be glad when this fixture is done and dusted, just so the Adkins love in can finally end and we can concentrate on what really matters...Southampton Football Club, staying up this season and hopefully progressing next season. I hope Reading go down along with Adkins....then we won't have his inane drivel spouted on my telly box half as much. he did ok for us,he found his level...he was then found out......he will remain a good championship manager, but I doubt much more. He won't have the resource like he did with us.....he will appear quite mediocre with what will be at his disposal.he may get them promoted....then see him flounder again. good luck Nige ,thanks....but you are not affiliated to us anymore....so I couldn't care less. give him a clap if you feel it nesessary, after that...he and Reading are the opposition.
  9. Quite happy for QPR to lose tonight, then either turn Wigan over or hold them for a point.
  10. Oh I hope we beat them...more so,Adkins. then draw a blue line under it,control the controllables ........and move on.
  11. yeah,I was saying this months ago,but it got its usual 'what a load of bollix ' by the usual suspects. i find it ironic that Alex Pearce was one of a few that divulged to me that NA was not all what he seems and seen by many as quite a strange character ,I posted it on here, but again met with the usual derision,......and now he plays under NA.
  12. I was never ripped to shreds. what people don't understand was the players did not know,at times, how to formulate what Adkins tried to put into practice. i had this from various sources, including professional football players that mixed with saints players and the hierarchy at SFC. why do you think his sacking was out of the blue.....to so many.but to some inevietable. and it was not just from saints players. There was a different side to 'good ol Nigel'.....and that's why he went.
  13. He's bloody awful. full of cliches, lacking in tactical nous. good luck NA. more "luck than judgment" should be his new sound bite. 'get on the bus'..my arse.
  14. I hope Adkins becomes Readings' new manager...he could get them up....if he inherits a really good squad, like ours....otherwise? Very mediocre. Mind you,he almost ballsed it up with us....reading,West Ham,if I recall. Scraped over the line with an exceptional squad. Poor manager.
  15. Bloody marvelous player for us. hope we get him back for our promotion push next season. contributed more than The like of Ramirez will ever do.
  16. I thought originally it was going to be an education centre or something of that ilk.
  17. No that's the reason I don't post on here much...cretinous responses.
  18. The status quo would have remained. Adkins had found his level,he could take us no more. Pochettino, well, who knows.... But Nigel was a busted flush, both on the pitch....and off it.
  19. All this talk about Adkins.......he had reached his pinnacle. he was predictable both on and of the pitch. that doesn't mean Pochettino is better, just that Adkins had fulfilled his remit. and he was never going to take us forward. Will Pochettino...? Who knows.....but Nigel was not.
  20. We are looking over our shoulders at relegation because of Adkins. that does not mean Pochetino is any worse or any better. collectively the club has made poor decisions,on the field..and off it. Adkins had taken us as far as he could. Cortese wanted change....but the timing was wrong. The timing was wrong for Pochetino given the precarious situation we were in when he took over. we are not doomed yet. today hurts....but keeping our Premier League status will be down more to luck than judgment this season.
  21. He's been a revelation. bloody good news.
  22. No I'm not kidding. if he had not achieved promotion it would have been a travesty. luckily for him we limped over the line above West Ham...... boruc has come good as has Davis....but under the new regime. Ramirez is doing nothing to show his price tag......well he can only play at St Mary's it seems, when he doesn't have a dead leg. Forte,Falque,N'guessan,Bignall,Tadanari Lee,Mayuka,De Ridder,Gazzaniga....shall I go on... lets see if we sit back today and beckon the opposition on....as we always did under Adkins. lets see if we make rediculous team selections and substitutions......as we always did under Adkins. lets see if we surrender....as we almost always did under Adkins and his poor decision making. he got us promoted,granted....after Pardew picked the club up and ran with it. Adkins inherited an awful lot,and took the kudos along with it. he wasn't the messiah,he got very, very lucky. but most,on here, treated him as the second coming.
  23. No we didn't. overated, poor tactician and constantly spouted bollix to help disguise the fact. got us promoted with a superb squad, nothing less would have been failure. We continually under performed under him, especially in the EPL. shame Cortese left it so long to get rid. Adkins level is managing a high profile side in the lower leagues. He will be proven to be a yo yo manager. he was never going to take us forward. his ability in the transfer market was laughable.
  24. I had a nightmare that Adkins was still our manager.
