Tbh,if I was watching that as a supporter of another side,I would look at our current position and think Christ SFC are going down with a loon like that as gaffer. qoute and say whatever drivel you like when you are at the top of your game.......but when you are languishing in the drop zone, struggling and showing no sign of improvement, especially in defensive areas (which everyone could foresee before a ball was kicked in anger this season) just give succinct answers and don't make a spectacle of yourself. i could just about put up with his rediculous repetitive soundbites when we were in a positive position........but not now Nigel please. get us showing some form and then you can return to whatever you want to spout. its football....not a political hustings. Turn it around Nigel, focus on the task not expanding your vocabulary.

Sharp would be good.....oh.

And he did a brilliant job in turning Germany round along with Bayern Munich. and enroute brought on some marvellous young talent into both squads. and reintroduced a great Bayern academy

One person stands out a mile..........Klinsman,on many levels, bold enough to make changes, invests in a youth set up........ On 26 July 2004, he returned to Germany as the new coach of the national team, succeeding former teammate and strike partner Rudi Völler. Klinsmann subsequently embarked on an aggressive program to revamp the management of the team. Bringing fellow German striker Oliver Bierhoff on board helped diffuse public relations duties of the previous combined post away from the actual coaching aspect of the position. Furthermore, he created a youth movement to breathe life into an aging squad on the heels of a disastrous showing at Euro 2004. In the run up to the 2006 World Cup, Klinsmann attracted criticism from German fans and the media following poor results, such as the 4–1 loss to Italy. A particular subject of criticism was that Klinsmann commuted to Germany from the United States, which was the target of a campaign by the "Bild" tabloid. It should be noted that Klinsmann had previously eliminated some privileges Bild traditionally had with the national team, such as receiving the team lineup the day before a match, and 24/7 exclusive access to the team. His largely offensive tactics have irritated some, who complain that he ignores defensive football. He announced a squad of young players for the 2006 World Cup, basing his selection policy on performance, not reputation. Klinsmann as manager of Germany in 2005 During the 2005 Confederations Cup, he regularly rotated his goalkeepers regardless of their performances, which drew the ire of Bayern Munich's Oliver Kahn. On 7 April 2006, Klinsmann finally decided to relegate Kahn to the bench and designated Arsenal's Jens Lehmann as his first choice goalkeeper. This choice followed Lehmann's performances in the 2006 Champions League in which his Arsenal team bowed out in the final against Barcelona. In the 2006 World Cup, the performances of Klinsmann's team silenced his critics. The team recorded three straight wins against Costa Rica, Poland and Ecuador in the first round, earning Germany first place in Group A. The first game of the knock out stage was a 2–0 victory over Sweden, and in the quarter-finals, Klinsmann's team defeated Argentina, winning 4–2 on penalties. The teams drew 1–1 after 120 minutes after an equalising goal from Miroslav Klose in the 80th minute.[20] In the semi-final on 4 July, Germany lost a close match with Italy 2–0 after goals in the final minutes of extra time from Fabio Grosso and Alessandro Del Piero.[21] After the match, Klinsmann praised the performance of his young team. They beat Portugal 3–1 in the third place play-off, where he played Kahn instead of Jens Lehmann.[22] The victory triggered a massive Berlin parade the following day where Klinsmann and the team were honoured by the public. Afterward, Franz Beckenbauer, previously a strident critic of Klinsmann's, declared his desire to see Klinsmann continue as coach. There was also widespread public support for Klinsmann due to his team's spirit and attacking style of play. The team's strong performance is thought by some to have renewed national pride and restored Germany's reputation as a top footballing nation. Due to his success coaching the national team, Klinsmann was awarded the Bundesverdienstkreuz. He was even referred to as "Kaiser", a term meaning "emperor" in German, usually reserved for German footballing greats, e.g. Franz Beckenbauer. Despite the highly acclaimed performance at the World Cup and the praise earned, Klinsmann declined to renew his contract, informing the DFB of his decision on 11 July 2006. The decision was officially announced by the DFB on 12 July 2006. Klinsmann's assistant Joachim Löw was appointed as the new head trainer at the same press conference.[23][24] Klinsmann said "My big wish is to go back to my family, to go back to leading a normal life with them ... After two years of putting in a lot of energy, I feel I lack the power and the strength to continue in the same way."[25] [edit]Bayern Munich In July 2008 Klinsmann took over as coach of Bayern Munich, succeeding Ottmar Hitzfeld.[26] Klinsmann helped design a new player development and performance center for Bayern and then launched into molding the team for the Bundesliga and UEFA Champions League campaigns. Under his guidance, Bayern reached the quarter final of the Champions League, losing to eventual champion FC Barcelona. Bayern’s record during the 2008/2009 UEFA Champions League was 6 wins, 3 draws, and 1 loss (to Barcelona). In the Bundesliga, Bayern was only 3 points off first place, with 5 matches to play, when Klinsmann was replaced as head coach due to a difference of opinion with the club’s Board of Directors. Bayern’s record under Klinsmann during the 2008/2009 Bundesliga season was 16 wins, 6 draws, and 7 losses.[27] [edit]United States Klinsmann as manager of the United States On 29 July 2011, Klinsmann was named head coach of the United States men's national soccer team making him the 35th coach in the history of the program.[28] On 29 February 2012, the U.S. national team recorded a historic 1–0 victory in a friendly match away against Italy. It was the first win against the four-time FIFA World Cup champion, stopping the 10-match winless streak against Italy dating back to 1934. The US also broke Italy's 20 game winning streak against all opponents at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris in Genoa.[29] On 15 August 2012, Klinsmann coached the United States to a historic win against long time rivals Mexico 1–0 in the Estadio Azteca, giving the USA their first victory over Mexico in the stadium.

Spot on. Quite correct reference the 'big' games we came up short. Where were you when I was making this point months ago. ;0) the message at last seems to be getting through reference Adkins.
-
You played your part in a great rise up through the leagues,oh and Pardew played his part well too,but alas you must go. yeah I know I have been banging on about how lack lustre he would be in the top flight for an age,but he has had his time. Great in the lower leagues, but the Premiership I'm afraid he falls short, which was going to be patently obvious. Thanks for everything. Onwards and upwards for Saints if he departs.

**** it....now bring on lambert Adkins, you sodding idiot
-
Can't see further than another defeat for us. sincerely hope I'm wrong though. they are a well drilled side, whatever people's opinion about fat Sam and the style of football adopted by his teams, they are doing well thus far. they may not have played some of the more fancied sides, but you can only play what is in front of you. despite what some might say, despite the odd sporadic encouraging few minutes,we are a poor side. couple that with poor managerial decisions, both during and prior to kick off,we look likely to struggle,we are very fragile. West Ham were far more convincing in the run in last season than we ever were. we got lucky that the fixtures ran out. 2 more games and we would have been in the play offs. Mr Adkins....make the right calls today please.
-
will it make 50 posts? some severe padding out and straw clutching needed to do so. we are on match of the day, which is earlier than the football league show.....yep that's a positive.
-
We always look like conceding ( and do) against anyone.
-
Well it will come as no surprise to many that I voted yes. he fulfilled his remit getting us up. Which was the minimum objective, and it should have been with the resources available to him. Although west ham came very close to overhauling us ,which would have put a completely different Spin on things. And I League one we came runners up to the big spending powerhouse that is Brighton. he should be given the chance, but thus far he is floundering. i can see against some of the big guns we were going to struggle, but his lack of tactical nous has lost us points against them and Fulham. Now it is apparent that quite a few of you are having doubts in his abilities, some of whom slated me for having my doubts sometime ago ........lets hope the squad don't start have doubts and question some of his decisions.......or have they already. this can lead to much bigger and irreparable damage to our progress, and /or season. some of our frailties, both on and off the pitch were not and still have not been addressed, and they won't be until a change is made I'm afraid.
-
all still relevant at this time. i will don tin hat and retire to the bunker once more. However, there seem to be a few more now questioning Nigel's ability.better late than never I suppose.
-
Totally agree. we need to come out the blocks from the off. they are beatable and we need 3 points in the bag. if this turns into another wiganesque performance Adkins needs to look at himself and his future needs to be under serious scrutiny. i do hope it does not come to that however. 3-1 Saints with my optimistic hat on. defeat is not worth contemplating. such an important game even though it is early in the season. perhaps the 'we have had terrible fixtures' thing can be put to bed after today. and if we were to lose I wager some numpty will trot out' look where we were 2 seasons ago' bollix.
-
None of what the other clubs do will matter if we don't get 3 points today. They can slip up as many times they like,we need to be winning at home and not getting trounced away from home. we must pick up points wherever possible. We can't rely on others.

League one and the championship I don't think many are better,Premier League....he's floundering just a tad.
-
More importantly, the manager has more experience.
-
This is incredible entertainment.
-
Agreed.Sums it up perfectly.
-
The same inane drivel. you could just tape him and replay it after every defeat. which unfortunately we are going to Hear a lot it seems. his repetitiveness is becoming nauseating. nice to see others now questioning his ability at this level.

This whole teacher running off with a pupil thing
saint lard replied to Turkish's topic in The Lounge
So a maths teacher takes a pupil to France,a field trip to see how many times 30 goes into 15 perhaps. -
Mmm, not overly impressed with 'futuristic' concept.but it's coming soon and will have to decide if I make a purchase. have really enjoyed the online multiplayer on the original Black Ops. hours of entertainment and quite a realistic feel, perhaps that was why I liked world at war. ive tried Halo,Gears of War and found them pretty dire. perhaps it's because it lacked the little realism that is possible with something that is feasible unlike 'Sci Fi games. i did like Battlefield and alike. i probably won't go near the 'story' mode, they are usually dire.
