I have never had the need to physically chastise my 6yr old son. if he does something knowingly against my will the mere fact I raise my voice,not shouting I might add,and change its tone is all he needs to know. i couple this with it being stern and forceful and facial expression that makes him sit up and take notice. i reinforce the fact with telling him why he must stop and behave,he has to acknowledge what I am saying and repeat back what I have told him. i leave him a few moments to ponder his actions,and mine,then I give him praise for listening to me and taking notice of what is right and wrong. i have always felt that verbal explanation should always be given,otherwise the child does not learn a lesson. on the whole,I am extremely lucky with the little mans behaviour thus far,he has had the same form of 'telling off' from the word go. I personally do not condone any form of physical 'punishment' as that is all it is and that is all the child will remember. all IMO.

I sill believe we need an experienced spine,or someone with experience in each dept. CB,Midfield and up top. someone that has done it and seen it in the Prem.or at an equivalent level. this does not mean going for the player that is on one last hoorah and pay deal. just someone that has a level head and experience. im not confident in Davis or even Gazzaniga,we need another keeper also. i am hoping beyond hope that the great fire power we potentially have,that would be fantastic in the NPC,can cut it in th Prem. this does not mean I want us to go and get players that are stars and somewhat pre madonnas,and that we have to upset the balance of youth and experience. But something is missing.

I am really quite looking forward to it all. i enjoyed the jubilee celebrations also in these times of what seems endless doom and gloom it's nice to have something else on the agenda. i will be taking my little boy back up to London on monday to soak up the atmosphere. i certainly won't experience it again in my lifetime and he probably won't either. he is really quite excited about it also,which I think is great. he has been learning all about Olympics this term at school and he wants to feel part of it,as do I. if that makes me out to be a bit of a plum,so be it.

So out of curiosity I phoned the ticket office.she said that tickets are due to be on sale this week but 'because everything is up in the air she doubts that they will be on sale anytime soon'

Rumours were circulating that ticket sales have been suspended for PFC first home game,this was yesterday. This has gathered pace somewhat. i have just been on their OS and ticket purchasing details have been pulled as far as I can see,wonder if it is worth giving them a call.

We have upped our initial bid. bid now stands at €7m. Apparently.

As I alluded to earlier in this thread ,this officer had a catalogue of disciplinary hearings before him. perhaps if the jury was aware of his extremely chequered employment history,inc road rage ,violence,perhaps the outcome would have been different. he should have been found guilty. he caused the death of an innocent man,anyone else, nothing less than a custodial sentence would have sufficed. all IMO.
