  5. SACHA Gaydamak will still pay back money owed over Pompey’s scrapped plans for a new training ground after his firm went into administration. That’s the view of Gosport Borough Council leader Mark Hook, who insists the former Pompey owner is still under an agreement to pay back cash over a failed deal to build a multi-million training facility at Cherque Farm, Lee-on-the-Solent. Questions were raised this week whether the authority will receive the full amount its owed after Mr Gaydamak’s firm Miland Development 2004 was placed into administration. In 2008, the authority gave the go-ahead for Pompey to locate its training ground on land earmarked for building firm Persimmon Homes. The deal meant the council had to pay back £330,000 to the developer which had been required to give the cash as part of a legal agreement to provide leisure amenities in the area. But, with Pompey currently in administration, the training ground plan has been abandoned. Cllr Hook confirmed Mr Gaydamak reached an ‘unconditional agreement’ with the council to pay back the funds following a court case last year. Cllr Hook said: ‘There are two instalments of £50,000 due, one at the end of July and the other in October. ‘We have an unconditional agreement with Sacha Gaydamak that if the company didn’t pay, he will pay the amounts himself, so we are quietly confident we will get the money we are owed one way or another. ‘As far as I am concerned, we will be pursuing Mr Gaydamak for the money. ‘He has been very honourable up to now. He has paid back all payments and cannot see any reason why that couldn’t continue. ‘My legal people are looking into the situation, but there has been no contact at the moment.’ Bridgemary North councillor Dennis Wright added: ‘Without doubt the council will receive that money. It’s the duty of the council to try and get that money back in the taxpayers’ interest. ‘I would still like to see a training ground go ahead but there is not much chance of that now. ‘I remember meeting Peter Storrie and Harry Redknapp on that site and they thought it was a wonderful place to have one, but it’s gone pear-shaped since.’ A spokesman for Miland Development 2004 administrators David Rubin & Partners LLP would not comment.

  10. After joining Lorient on a season-long loan last summer, Francis cemented his place under Christian Gourcuff with a string of fine performances. The tenacious midfielder, who can also play at right-back, got some valuable experience under his belt, making 24 appearances in Ligue 1. Francis made three Arsenal first-team appearances during 2009/10, having made his debut the previous season. He was also an integral part of the FA Youth Cup-winning side of 2009. A French youth international, he was a key player in the France side that won the European Under-19 Championships in 2010 and travelled to Colombia for the Under-20 World Cup in July and August 2011.

  17. I have received an email from two of my friends in Italy, who broke the news about the Do Prado signing to me,that michu is definitely in talks with Southampton.and his representatives have held talks.it is down to him if he wants to up root abroad or remain in Spain. Apparently he is wanted by an Italian club also, neither of which my friends know which one. they were spot on with the do Prado signing which I posted on here at the time. so I'm adding nothing new just a differing view from abroad.

You might think this mad but I went in January whilst there was snow still laying. i have never been so cold as the wind chill shocked me at times but it was very changeable so this was sporadic. i can safely say taking a carriage trip through central park and skating both there and the Rockefeller centre was fantastic. The chilly Xmas feel to it really added a new dimension to the visit compared to when I had been before in the summer.
  21. The new mega mega mega saints shop.
  22. I have faith in his ability to keep us up. Not sure Mr Cortese will give him long if things are looking ominous. Mr Adkins deserves his shot at the premier league.
