Probably true in the long run that they will go but is still doesn't change the fact that he is guessing like the rest of us. Que Sera, Sera

Cortese speaking to BBC for first time since leaving Saints

yeah quite the budget he blew there. maybe 200 quid return in the redeye flight out of stanstead and back that evening after a short interview with an ex chairman. no expence soared there then ha ha -
To be fair I have heard that line trotted out everytime we have sold a star. I cant think of too many times when we have been stronger at the end of the transfer period.
-
add to the fact that they are also being outshone by the better half of Manchester as well. Clearly the timing of the bid is a blatant bid to reflect away from the catastrophic failure this season has been for them. Although that doesn't mean the bid would have come at some stage anyway. Overall I would like to think the club wouldn't be stupid enough to negotiate any transfer of any player prior to a world cup but then nothing would surprise me with saints to be honest.

how mant times have i read this statement over the years in one form or another when our best player is about to be sold?
-
although football is a confidence game particularly when you have the talent. maybe he is starting to gain his. a young kid can easily start to grow with a little confidence.

i think the injuries had a significant effect bearing in mind they were key positions with limited cover (boruc and lovren) that had big influence on our points haul for a big chunk of games. add to the fact that osvaldo didnt work out i feel we would be have been hard pressed to finish higher than 7th.
-
out of interest, if you put jose morinho or alex ferguson in charge of our side at the beginning if the season, where do you think we would have finished with the same set of players and suffering the same set of injuries. significantly better than 8th?
-
now he has gone, i can see no reason why he would waste time or money on trying to destabalise the club. can so eone give me a proper reason why he would other than because he is bitter? or am i missing something her?
-
agree with that too. the barca lad was owned by clyne and when he swapped sides was owned by shaw. baines has a cultured left foot but doesnt have the explosive pace of shaw. shaw frightened the life out of them when he bombed forward. MP was regularly trying to get shaw to push up more.
-
i know its hard not be bias but personally in shaw and clyne i think we saw Englands starting fullbacks this afternoon. Come on Roy be brave and pick for the future. ok, so its unlikely either will be picked but for me i wouldnt swap either for johnson or baines. i think shaws final ball needs work but he is some player already. Both have electric pace, defend well and love to bomb forward.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how happy are you with saints at the moment?

that bitter taste is probably your dads baby batter -
and how does that fit in with Les Reeds comments this morning?

In reality even if we sold players I would imagine most would renew anyway. Any drop in revenue would be a drop in the ocean compared to the TV money. Particularly when most who don't renew still continue to buy tickets on a day to day basis anyway. -
if we could add in as option that you retire from this forum to concentrate on being butt raped by a troop of baboons then i would take that and happily lose both the players and MoPo

so GS now prefers to use stats over a long period of time now as it suits his argument. im sure ive read many a thread that highlights how poor saints / MP is based on the form over 6, 11,13 and sometimes even as many as 18 games depending on the spin he is trying to achieve. (ok so dont quote me on exact number of games ha s has used but you get my drift). is it wrong to wish someone would have an hand related accident with a lawn mower that prevented them the ability to type? GS, isnt your grass looking a little long?

my view centres around lallanas future. if he stays then you may as well let him leave and reinvest the cash. should lallan go then maybe ramirez is the man to build your team around. we simply cant play both in the same team IMO

great first half upto injury time. i was sat in corp hospitality today. whenrickie slammed in the penalty we both jumped out of our seats and cheered rather loudly. within 20 seconds a steward came across and threatened us with ejection from the ground as you arent allowed to show who you support in that area even though the entire area erupted when the city pen went in. when my mate informed the jobs worth that he signed off the 3.5 million cheque for corporate sponsorship over 3 years with city he and went a little white and backed off fairly rapidly. made me chuckle.

Apparently the Sun are experiencing similar problems with Sunderland. They have come up with a classic, they are taking the Sun out of Sunderland and are now referring to the as Derland. Well it made me chuckle
