HCDAJFU - The transfer deadline countdown
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd replied to saint_stevo's topic in The Saints
He's having a medical tomorrow. He's agreed terms & Spurs have accepted QPR's bid. That sounds pretty solid to me. However, I accept that these things can still go tits up. -
Top 3 most mental goal celebrations at a Saints Game

Forte's 93rd minute goal against Torquay to put us 4-1 up. Never seen scenes like it. ****ing mental. -

I couldn't agree more. I'd love to see him at Saints. However, fellow TSF user, S-Clarke seems to think that he'll go for a lot more than £5m and it won't be to QPR. -

Forget Dawson going to QPR. S-Clarke has just told me that nothing's been agreed and there's no way he'll go for £5m. I bow to his superior knowledge on these matters. He's obviously got some inside information to which nobody else has access! -
Can't believe QPR are about to land Dawson for £5m from Spurs. He'd have been perfect for us. Why oh why are we not looking to add someone like this with premiership experience to our defence?

Just went to put £5 on city to score more than 5 goals & could only get odds of 5/4. Looks like everybody is predicting a thrashing. At the start of the week I fancied a 6-0 win for city. On reflection I was being stupid. I think it will be 8 or 9.

Can't believe that nobody's mentioned Lizzie Armitstead. Silver medalist in the women's road race. I'd do her before Pendleton.

Poll: Where will Saints finish 2012/13

Bottom. -
We need at least one cb!!!
-
At least 4-0. I'm having a few quid on it to soften the blow.

Nearly £12m! What a joke football has become. This has got 'spectacular flop' written all over it. I can see us ending up letting him go on a free in 2 years time. Also, when are we going to add some quality where it's really needed? In defence!!!

What would be an acceptable score on Monday
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd replied to Miltonroader07's topic in The Saints
Exactly. I see City getting off to a flying start. I can see them scoring 4, 5 or maybe 6. For us it's an exercise in damage limitation. -
Best place to sell a car?
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd replied to Barney Trubble's topic in Motoring Forum
Stick it by the side of a road with a handwritten sheet of A4 paper in the window with the mileage (include the words 'genuine miles' & 'genuine reason for sale'), Tax & MOT duration, and your mobile phone number. Don't forget to include the line, One careful lady owner, and include any extras or other useful info in the form of abbreviations. FSH. Met Paint. ESR. AC. EW. Oh, and remember to close with the classic, 'No time wasters, please'. :-) -
Blackpool report Saints over Phillips approach

Who gives a ****? Seriously, we need to strengthen the defence or we're going to be the laughing stock of the Premier league. -
On the basis of Wolves and Bristol City

The back 4 is no where near good enough for life in the Prem. This will be highlighted when Man City put 4, 5 or 6 past us on the opening day. -
I bloody well hope so. I have to say I'm pretty underwhelmed with our signings so far.

We desperately need cover at CB. Villa have just signed Vlaar for £3m. That's a great bit of business and the sort of thing I'd like to have seen Saints doing instead of buying Championship standard players.

Lack of quality activity...
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd replied to Dibden Purlieu Saint's topic in The Saints
Have to say I'm a bit worried too. I'd like to have seen us move for a few more players with Premiership experience. Players who are in the late 20's or even early 30's who've played at the highest level. All of our strikers are unproven at this level. On paper our defence looks very dodgy. We desperately need 1 or 2 CB's. The Midfield is the only thing that looks ok. And I use the term, 'ok' because that's all it is. It's going to be a very long season. -

Dann: I've still got a lot to achieve. Blackburn defender, Scott Dann has spoken about his potential move to premiership new boys, Southampton. The 25 year old defender said, "I'd love to join Southampton, they're the perfect club for me to achieve some of my personal ambitions. There comes a time in every players career where you have to ask yourself if you've achieved what you set out to do. It was pretty clear to me early on in my career that I was never going to be winning FA Cup and league titles so I set out to become the most relegated player in Premiership history. I've been successfully relegated with Birmingham and Blackburn and I see Southampton as the perfect club for me to make it a hat-trick of relegations in as many seasons. I really don't know what I'll do if this move doesn't come to fruition as I'm not sure how interested the likes of Wigan and Swansea are." The stumbling block with the move appears to be Blackburn's £6m valuation of Dann, with Saints only looking to pay around half that amount. Rovers manager, Steve Keen said, "Scott is an ambitious young lad who has the potential to be relegated many more times in his career. We've spoken to him at great length and whilst we're in a position to offer relegation from the Championship, Scott feels he'd be better off concentrating on his target of Premiership relegations. I've spoken to the board about his decision and they're keen to hold out for the £6m asking price. They believe the figure is a small price to pay for somebody with a proven track record and the ambition and desire to further his career."

Sordell looked absolutely awful. Glad we didn't go for him!

Just watched the GB friendly against Brazil. The lad played a blinder. It would've been 4 or 5 if it wasn't for Butland. Not saying we should sign him based on this one performance but he looked very good indeed.
