I think it's more "we can reach you from anywhere. We had similar things like this in previous windows. It's clear we wanted one cb, we kept our options open and then got the one we want. My guess is we will sign an attacker and that will be it for this window after offloading boufal.

The difference is some players are icons separate from the clubs they play for. People buying a high profile players shirt aren't actually supporters of the club.
