Yawn! Mind you I quite enjoy a journey through France from the air. Saw the Foret d'Orient signposted last weekend on the way back from the Alps as we headed from Troyes. Didn't realise it was so big, just looked like a few trees from the A26.

Other Premier League Transfers - Deadline Day

Problem is with Everton is that they have a history which predates an awful lot of posters on here. Therefore they have no point of reference for EFC. Those old enough recall a team in the late 60s/early 70s with a midfield of Ball, Kendall and Harvey and Joe Royle up front. They were different class. They even put 8 past us in 1971 at Goodison. -

At what point do we get the wailing posts berating Saints for not making signings while all around us our rivals are signing up anything that moves. Would have expected Alpine to be showing signs of extreme angst by now. -
"It's the sprint. I just didn't know that Mark is behind me, he's coming from the right side," Sagan added. "Mark was coming pretty fast from the back and after I just didn't have time to react, to go left, and he just came (into) me and after into the fence." On the one hand he says he didn't know Cav was there, but then implies he knew that he was coming up from behind. Can't have it both ways. Still very harsh. Sagans' deviations were the result of poor riding by others in the sprint which forced him so far right that Cavendish was squeezed out eventually.

Tend to agree. Sagan should not have been DQ'd. Cav had picked up ADs wheel after the last turn when the sprinters and the LB lead out man move to the left hand side of the road David Millar referred to as a stroke of genius by Cavendish on the live ITV4 commentary. With around 250m to go as Griepel's lead out drops off to the right there is a huge space on the right hand side. Cavendish is still on Demare's wheel and they are just about the only riders on the right. Kristoff, Bouhanni and Sagan are line astern on the white line in the centre of the road. At this point Cav still has ADs wheel and Sagan is behind Greipel close to the white line also. I reckon the true culprit was Kristoff who moved right and failed to hold his line when in the lead, Bouhanni tries to get on his wheel and Greipel muscles in and wobbles pushing Bouhanni towards Demare who moves right to avoid him. Cavendish follows Demare, Sagan drifts right as a result of Bouhanni and Griepel's ropy riding and begins to narrow Cav's gap. It doesn't look deliberate on his part, however to state that he didn't know Cav was there is a bit disingenuous as the former had been following Demare for around 150m during which Sagan had either been slightly behind or level with him. With 200m to go Kristoff went further right squeezing the space even more. Within a few pedal strokes Sagan has got on ADs wheel but is still going right and Cavendish is about a foot from the barrier. Demare is already moving right and Cav is leaning into Sagan to keep himself upright. Shortly after the elbow appears to come out as Sagan tries to counter balance appearing to catch Cavendish at the moment he was going down. Unfortunately a racing incident, triggered by Kristoff and exacerbated by Greipel and Bouhanni. If the commissaires need to look at anything it should be what those three were doing and to Demare's crazy switch left. Hardly holding your line in a sprint. Sagan was merely the ball the knocked the Cavendish skittle over not the bowler. Harsh!

Start the f***ing meltdown. Expect to see Alpine/Heisenturd etc drivel on here soon saying we are missing out on all the best signings and so and so has strengthened and we haven't signed anyone. Blah, blah, blah! and we'll lucky to finish 17th. There I times I regret the day over ten years ago when I signed up for a previous incarnation of SWF. -
Not really at all. Maybe a shot across the bows of those who engage incessant trolling and post speculative garbage on this forum and to those who feel entitled to know what the club is doing and what its intentions are at every possible juncture.
-
The speculation and questioning of the club's intent is keeping me amused on a rather tedious work day. What will be, will be, you clowns. Get over it. The club will do things there way. Oh! and if some stage in the future we do struggle and heaven forbid get relegated I'll still be a fan.
-
Be funny if he rocked up at Palace! The meltdown on here would be hilarious.

I agree. This remainer or whatever insulting and ridiculous word you persist on using to describe me has always stated that the democratic result from June 2016 has to be upheld to preserve democracy in this country. What sticks in the craw is the petty insults you resort when responding to people who don't agree with your view. I'll say it here and now. I've never voted Tory, never will and despise UKIP and all it stands for, but I accept the referendum result.

Never ridden SRAM but have old 9 spd Tiagra on my Cube, A Campag 10 spd mix of mainly Centaur, with Veloce chainrings (Centaur not produced anymore) and Super Record on my Ridley and Di2 Ultegra on the R3. Never had problems with any of them which weren't of my own making eg forgetting to charge the Di2 for example. Like Vfft said for a winter bike if it were me I'd plump for 105. Tyres wise I ride Conti GP4000S 11s all year round.

Of course he does. Hence the liverpool stuff.

If you backtrack to 2014, Lallana's and Lambert's transfers both occurred following call ups to England. I think we all suspected a now retired senior international was somehow involved in that episode of 'tapping up'. Lovren had his head turned through the media much in the same way as they tried to do with VVD this time around. At the start of that season we still had Cortese in charge and Pochettino as manager we were a club on the up making ambitious noises as to where we wanted to be. No evidence at all, but perhaps the second tier marquee clubs began to take us seriously and saw that in the medium term we were a threat to their position among the elite. Chelsea, Man U, and City were immune but Arsenal Spurs and Liverpool were less so. I just find it interesting that we lost a manager and four players in one go to those clubs and have continued to have players picked off by them since.

Having trawled through this thread and amused myself reading the responses on RAWK this is my take on the situation. My next door neighbour, a Liverpool fan summed it up this morning while we walked the dogs. He made the point that at no time in their recent history had Liverpool bought players who were a real step up and that if you buy players from an upper mid table club, that was, with respect to us, the quality you get. Take Lallana for example. The Lallana I see playing for Liverpool and England is pretty much the same player I saw at Saints. Admittedly playing with better players in the likes of Coutinho may make him appear a better, more accomplished player but he hasn't developed into a world beating, game changing midfielder. The same could be said for Clyne and I still see a Mane, who though brilliant on his day remains as inconsistent as hell. Lovren's initial demise and partial re-hab as a Prem centreback has been well documented, and Ricky Lambert's move was at best sentimental and marked the end of his Premiership career. Which leads me, head scratching, wondering why they've been in for so many of our players over the last three years.
