Koeman isn't interested in infrastructure. New stadia take years to become reality. Cash is king but at the moment it's all paper talk. Let's see whether the promises are fulfilled. Even if they are, there are significant risks in spending big. Randy Lerner spent big in a tilt at the top four and then Man City came along. Where did that get Villa. I like Koeman and wish him well but he's swapping stability for uncertainty.

Salvaged a win once Neville told him what to do.

Well that was a bit of a mess. Pointless playing Vardy in some kind of Danny Wellbeck role. Play him up top on the shoulder. Need two defensive midfielders to protect the CBs who, as we all know, are flaky - Dier was good. Put Drinkwater with him. Yes I'm biased but trying to be objective - we've got the wrong two full backs. Main reason, we are weak in defence and Clyne and Bertrand are better defenders than Rose and Walker.

Les Read when asked at the awards last how well Koeman had done answered "ok". Camera moves to a stony faced Koeman. Maybe a joke that fell flat but Koeman didn't look impressed.

Tottenham build up thread ...a question posed
Graffito replied to Yorkshire Saint's topic in The Saints
Tottenham is a dump, though it's set for major regeneration, much of it around Northumberland Park and the new football ground. In previous seasons many Saints fans have congregated in this wetherspoons on one corner of the mezzanine level of Liverpool St station. Alternatively there are numerous pubs around Liverpool St. Then a short train journey up to WHL overground station which is much closer to the ground than Seven Sisters Rd tube. https://www.jdwetherspoon.com/pubs/all-pubs/england/london/hamilton-hall-city-of-london -
Chelsea were never likeable, not even quite.

They've given us all hope.....the bas****s.

Embrace the challenge Charlie. These are the games you want at the end of the season. Can't wait for Sunday.
-
Yes that's what happened. All got a bit out of hand. It made the national news on TV as I recall. A lot different from the comical pitch invasion at Eastville.
-
The answer is out there.....in the stratosphere.

Kante, or any number of small midfielders, counter the size argument.

You've got me there Einstein.

And your first words were "But these weren't mistakes by any stretch". Why didn't you simply ask if I thought these were mistakes? I think you are being disingenuous here. Your default position is always to defend referees, even when you haven't seen the incidents. Definitely one and arguably all three were the wrong decision or, let's not mince words, "mistakes", in my opinion.
-
You appear to be saying they weren't mistakes by any stretch, not asking if they were, yet you've only seen the Huth incident. Nice try.
-
That's an odd way of putting it Whitey. I don't advocate referrals but sometimes refs make mistakes. It's a difficult job but they get things wrong and we should acknowledge that.
-
So you think neither were penalties and there was no foul on Clasie for their goal? Well your obviously entitled to your opinion but I find that ****ng incredible. By the way, I pointed out that we didn't create enough today. I've posted this view a number of times of the past two seasons. I'm well aware of the failings. Today it was the referee.
-
We didn't create enough and I think at times we got out-muscled, a reflection of Leicester's greater desire to win the game, but the fact is we lost the game because of the ref. Repeat, we lost because of the ref. Penalty and sending off first half. Foul on Clasie for their's. Penalty second half. I've seen this ref before. He's weak. I'm pleased Leicester will win the title because it's not one of the usual money clubs but I'm underwhelmed by them. They are winning it by default.

Friction between Koeman and some of the players according to The MoS
Graffito replied to Bewildered's topic in The Saints
To the extent that there's a grain of truth in the article (probably Tadic sounding off as he did about being excluded from the national team), I'm encouraged. Demanding manager, almost fully fit squad, possibility of European football next season, some players not happy about being more involved. All positive isn't it? Contrast with Villa where players don't want to play and nobody gives a stuff. -
In what respects is Van Dyke too limited to play as a central defender?
-
Correct.
-
Agreed. Up to Rooney now to rise to the challenge, which he will. All positive.
-
For once England, that was impressive. Tottenham players were all good with Alli excellent. Good stuff.

Why waste time when you are 3-1 down.
