  1. Just a small point, but they just said on SSN that they're not actually out of Admin yet.
  2. Don't forget that it's not extra debt as such, but fines of 100 percent levied for non payment of tax, with the harshness caused by non intention to pay and actively avoiding payment.
  3. Do you really believe that?
  4. Even if they do manage to bundle this CVA through, they still have to afford it. They'll struggle if they spend money gambling on promotion.
  5. Got mine just now, it's a really nice kit, looks even better in the flesh and is really good quality.... in other words the complete opposite of what we would have expected a couple of seasons ago On a side note, the megastore is open today, even though it's sunday, presumably because of the kit launch, and there are no queues whatsoever.
  6. http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/sport/football/845109/PORTSMOUTH-FACING-A-NEW-D-DAY.html The endgame may be approaching.
  7. Interesting. Did it have the 125 year badge on it?
  8. I thought if they couldn't agree a CVA the only course of action left would be to liquidate the company? Leeds couldn't agree a CVA, but in that case the football club was an asset and got passed to another company (also owned by Bates) while the old company was liqudated. In our case a CVA wasn't required because all the debts were paid off (and the old parent company still exists, although it isn't required any more) In Pompey's case, the football club IS the company... I'm not sure they have the option of just not using a CVA...
  9. I have the power that technology seems to work better because it's me using it. ("but that's exactly what I did....") Also the power to tempt fate and have it not backfire as often as it should.
  10. http://www.dna.fr/articles/201004/13/sain-parmi-les-saints,football,000006155.php You can read the full article at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Southampton/Morgan-Schneiderlin/118552260489#!/notes/morgan-schneiderlin/sain-parmi-les-saints-/101193699923837 That's what it's like to TRULY be recognised as good fans, when even the French are acknowledging the English as being good at something. Your fans MIGHT be universally recognised as better than ours, but only on Portsea Island.
  11. all brinkmanship has done so far is move the brink... does look positive though.
  12. To be fair, the World Cup Squad is of direct interest to every fan in England. Palace having troubles is of direct interest to Palace fans and maybe their direct rivals, and only passing interest to everyone else. SSN are just playing the numbers, they have advertising to sell, hence the relative amount of coverage.
  13. catching up with that thread now... up to page 41 now.
  14. It's all over then... bloody hell.
  15. They don't want to see Palace go under... talks are ongoing... So they haven't agreed yet with 3 minutes left... just noise from the bank to try and limit the damage... Looks like bad news to me rather than good sounds.
  16. This brings back bad memories of last summer...
  17. Ah I see. Thanks Dav.
  18. Really? Would have thought they would be as relegation and promotion hasn't officially happened yet... That's just my thoughts though.
  19. Patience friend... (sorry, been playing FAR too much Red Dead Redeption...) They haven't fallen under the jurisdiction of the FL yet, they still have the Creditors meeting to come, and HMRC still haven't shown their hand yet... they have a LOT of hurdles to overcome to start next season. What seems to have done Palace in is the fact that their ground is too valuable as housing land... Fratton Park is difficult in terms of potential for building right now unless a developer is patient, so they still have a ground to play at. That's what's keeping them going day to day right now.
  20. If they do go under, I'd assume Sheffield Wednesday would be given a reprieve and avoid dropping to our league, and then Gillingham would be given a reprieve from relegation in our league. Gillingham instead of Wednesday? Probably makes it an easier league from a purely selfish point of view, but it would be a shame to see them go under.
  21. Is it just me that's actually quite enjoying this 'boredom'? Compared to the 'excitement' of wondering which of our best players were about to leave when we were in the Prem, figuring out what these things called 'lower leagues' were over the last few seasons, and then wondering whether we'd still have a club to support last summer, I'm just sitting back and enjoying the fact that Saints off season is boring for once...
  22. Sooo... they finished 32 points off of Newcastle and still go up... Saints finished 13 points off of 2nd, including the 13 point deduction, and still missed out on the playoffs... That's football I guess. Omerod is a legend though
  23. We spent money on a stadium when we WERE in a position to afford it though. We lost the position to be able to afford it later, and called in the administrators the INSTANT it became legally required, we acted with absolute honour in this regard. Pompey on the other hand...
  24. We're all missing something obvious here. Why the heck does anyone think The Football League will let a brand new company into the league in place of the liquidated Pompey? They've remained diplomatically quiet thus far, only pointing out that Pompey aren't under their jusidiction yet. This talk of Pompey being liquidated could well be talk of the end of the football club as a whole I reckon.
  25. It wouldn't be 'without question'.
