Normally Ings would have Redmond in support. As well as we played for large parts of the game, his cutting edge could have made a real difference in attack today. Got to be happy with the point considering the injuries and going down to 10 for 20 odd minutes, but on another day we could well have won it playing that well.

We weren't anywhere near as bad as the scoreline suggests. Burnley's goal on 63 minutes was their first shot on target, and it looked to me like the conditions had a huge role in them getting that chance at all. Before that Adams could easily have scored and Redmond forced a very good save when he cut in from the left byline. Most days you're expecting at least one of them to go in. That happens and we're probably looking at a decent result. The most disappointing part of today would have to be how we reacted to going a goal down.

I liked the use of VAR in that game myself. It caused some delay, but nothing excessive and it made the refereeing more accurate. It’ll take some time for everyone to get used to rules being enforced that accurately, but as long as it’s consistent from here on in I can only see it as a good thing.
