  1. As long as we can avoid the follow-on, that'll give us at least 2 batting bonus points and should ensure a draw. I'd take that at this stage...
  2. More to the point, who'd have thought that we'd fail to win any of our first 7 games with a -10 deduction and still have a decent chance of beating you to 1 point
  3. Yeah pretty much. I've got it on my work PC solely for testing purposes, along with IE7, IE8, FF2, FF3, FF3.5, Chrome and Safari
  4. Wouldn't surprise me - IIRC it's the browser that was shipped with XP, and most people just won't bother upgrading.
  5. Firefox is my browser of choice, but as Baj said above, it absolutely canes the memory after a while, particularly if you run a number of add-ons. Oh, and IE6 is evil and should be destroyed.
  6. To be fair, it was pretty secure... it locked anyone out of the game if they couldn't tell whether the serial number printed on the back of the manual had 1s or Is and 0s or Os I hope they've done away with the forced registration and the limit to the number of times you can install it.
  7. Would love to, but I think they'll struggle to find enough people with that sort of cash available to them to get a full take-up of the scheme.
  8. According to a Pompey fan on another forum I use who appears to have contacts in the right places, Peter Storrie attended a supporters group meeting a few days ago and told them that during the Man City game, al-Fahim asked him - completely straight-faced without any sense of taking the p!ss - if they could stop the match so he could get up and wave to the fans. Needless to say, Storrie has arranged for this particular gem to be edited out of the minutes of the meeting
  9. Kabir Ali has agreed a three-year deal according to the BBC - compensation to Worcestershire is likely to be around the £60k mark. This could pave the way for more transfer fees in cricket, with players tied to longer contracts, which I'd say isn't necessarily a bad thing as it gives both player and club more security.
  10. Of course, if we can get a reasonable score, you can probably guarantee the Aussies will do even better...
  11. Care to explain what it is?
  12. Well they know there'll be plenty of user-generated skins available within a week or two, so why bother spending money on it?
  13. He can't bear the thought that another product might actually be half-decent. It's about time FM had competition, they've been resting on their laurels for far too long, relying on the goodwill of their dedicated fanbase to do their testing for them, releasing a product that simply doesn't work on launch day. I love the irony of having a go at Eidos for CM requiring a patch to get data up-to-date - at least the game's playable on launch, unlike certain titles. I couldn't even do a command-click (Mac equivalent of a right-click, if you weren't aware) in FM09 without it crashing!
  14. Don't forget Adams as a spin option as well
  15. Indeed, although being in the office it was never likely to be anything NWS
  16. I'm selling my flat (or at least I will be when I've finished decorating) You'll get plenty of change from £250k
  17. Nor did I dispute it - although I'm pretty sure there was at least one of the FM series that wasn't available cheap until about a month after release, but that's splitting hairs really
  18. No, because I know I won't get anything remotely balanced from you when it comes to FM.
  19. I R Fktard. Serves me right for just pressing Ctrl+V expecting it to be the right link...
  20. Ronseal. http://www.zavvi.co.uk/zavvi/10053714.product
  21. He'll get a 3-game ban for the stamp and probably a large fine for the celebration.
  22. I'd wager some serious money that the "demo" of CM2010 has less bugs than the launch release of FM2010.
  23. Yep, taxi is arriving at 1pm
  24. And the collective genii in charge of the game will probably phase out the 50-over format over the next few years...
  25. UEFA only want to stop international transfers for under-18s. They would find it very difficult to prevent domestic transfers, IMO.
