  1. At the impressionable age in question then putting them in a lodge would be a disastrous idea. As has been said, this idea has gone on for years and years and seems pretty succesful.
  2. This has gone on for years...not a new idea at all.
  3. Good covering John, if it hadn't been for those pesky kids you would have got away with that one.
  4. After Walton delayed the corner kick to tell off the naughty squabbling boys you just knew he was going to give a free kick as soon as the ball was played into the box. An awful performance, the only thing that probably went in our favour was not sending off Puncheon after what looked like a clear straight arm to the head of the Leeds lad who ended up going off. Not read the whole thread but I assume Walton is now reffing League 1 as he's had a host of poor performances in the higher leagues?
  5. In broad agreement. Best game I've seen Jaidi have by a long way. Puncheon was fantastic in the first half but seemed to run out of puff in the second and was a bit surprised he didn't get replaced. Lambert has been immense for the last few games (and most of the season for that matter), I didn't think he was any better today but he certainly seems much happier alongside Barnard than he ever has with Connolly. Just a really good solid all-round performance today, fantastic.
  6. If the weather picks up there's three weeks or so of good growing conditions up for grabs so hopefully things will improve. Not great at the moment though.
  7. As always you miss the point completely. I was not comparing him in terms of ability to MLT but more that he lacks in areas just as some other players in our history have. And the tongue in cheek reference to KD was in terms of scoring goals - again to highlight no one is the complete package.
  8. I remember some ropey player we had, MLT or something, didn't track back, couldn't tackle and had no pace but somehow he scratched a living at the top level. Kelvin's goal record is poor as well. You can't have every single attribute but you can use what you have to the best of your ability and still be an outstanding player. I'll leave this debate there.
  9. I think it's either an urban myth or people who don't get to see the games that think he doesn't put the effort in. He's been tracking back week in week out as well as being the most creative player and probably most naturally talented in the team. If he could add better ball striking when in front of goal and therefore a higher goal tally then he's going to become a very fine player and will play in much higher leagues than present.
  10. Don't agree with your assesment on Lallana, his work rate has equalled others for some time now, he is becoming the complete player. Would agree with your view on KD though Nick and I think this is a position that needs a review come the summer. Not sure who we would go for though?
  11. I don't think Lambert needs any protection! As has been said earlier in the thread, the reason he doesn't get too many fouls is that he is strong as an ox and just shrugs them off. Many would go down or make a meal of it in similar circumstances but he stands his ground and stays on his feet. Whether he is doing himself / the team an injustice with such 'honesty' I'm not sure.
  12. It's very easy that one. Has to be Barnard as clearly Lambert is much happier with him alongside. They have built up a great partnership and understanding. Although Connolly was awesome when he played those same games were when Lambert seem a little off key playing the deeper role which just doesn't seem to suit him.
  13. Not easy to single anyone out Daren, the whole team were superb, I like Harding although he does seem to lose his player a during the game on occasions - although not these last two!
  14. Another great performance, thoroughly enjoyed that. If I'm being totally honest I think Saturday's performance just shaded it but that would be splitting hairs and clearly Huddersfield had a lot more about them than Walsall. Barnard and Lambert look really comfortable together and Lambert was just immense again. Difficult to single players out as yet again it was a fantastic team performance but.
  15. How was anything about that goal related to falling asleep? It was a free-kick, they scored. Both Jaidi and Davis were awake at the time, these things happen, on this occasion it had nothing to do with concentration.
  16. Sorry but it was a foul, the player may have made a bit of a meal of it but a challenge like that from behind makes it easy for the ref. Other than that Jaidi had a good game and Fonte was excellent alongside of him.
  17. My mistake I thought I was on the post match thread
  18. Maybe we could consolidate all these AP threads and his future into just the one.
  19. Would agree with that with the exception of Harding who whilst had a good game didn't rampage down the line to the extent I think you give him credit for. Barnard and Lambert look very comfortable together - a great pairing. As for the free kick then I don't think we can give Kelvin too much grief although he continues to make me nervous.
  20. Best performance I've seen there for a long time. Good performances throughout and especially Lambert who was superb.
  21. Ah the resident football experts who talk in cliche ridden prose you mean Chez. Anyone who knows even the slightest thing about football will know what Lallana has about him.
  22. The 'ruthless' Cortese insisted we have that end. I have it on good authority.
  23. Exclusive photo's show that Cole's injury is far worse than was first thought
  24. Colin Clarke couldn't trap a bag of cement...and I should know I used to wear his boots once he'd finished with them and I too had trouble with that same bag!
