It would perhaps be an opportune time to develop links into Brazil. Bear in mind the following: - A Southampton player was instrumental in the introduction of football to that country - Saints were early pioneers into playing on tours there - We play an attractive passing game - We've got a Brazilian playing for us - just promoted to the biggest league in the world Seems there's more than enough marketing hooks there.

What's with all these Camaras in Senegal? One big family of footballers?

Under the centre-circle at Moneyfields?

Why does the promotion of the four Academy lads to the first team remind me of the film "Magnum force"? And who would be Dirty Harry?

Always a class player, good to watch and key to our re-birth. Thanks DC.

Wrong thread!

Sounds good. I'm currently on Orange, which is not great, but is still better than O2, which was very very patchy for me in Southampton two years ago. Was put off Three some years ago, when their customer services were abysmal. I take it they've improved on that front?

Jason Dodd's article on the OS sums it up neatly: "A few of them will become pros, so they will be working a lot closer with Martin [Hunter, Under 21 coach]." "A few of them will hopefully get as close as they can to the First Team squad..." The point is they're not looking at whole teams of players, or even just three or four, coming though every season, just the cream of the crop. If the aim is to have half the squad home grown, then the Academy only needs to produce, on average, one in every year group who is capable of playing first team football with the Saints.

If fit, undoubtedly yes. Yet another ManU sicknote though. You'd think the biggest club in the world would be able to turn things around for some of their long-term injured - they do seem to have had a string of them over past years.

There were two I think. One was SOU-THAMP-TON (quick monotone, emphasis on the middle syllable), followed by three quick claps, then repeated. Second was more drawn out, on three descending notes (no particular emphasis), followed by five quick claps, then repeated. And now you're gonna try these out, aren't you?

22-and-a-half. Chinos instead of jeans.

Perhaps all he needs to get fit is a decent physio...

Have a chat with Bursledon Motors (at Durley), they've been independent Merc service specialists since the sixties.

Never saw that coming - Tom Cruise Singing Stadium Rock in a Musical?

Nah! Not a patch on Bill Nighy in Still Crazy. -
‘Pompey have been really good in supporting charities in the community. Initially I didn’t think there was a problem and we were arranging cheque presentations.’ (quote from a Charity spokesperson) FFS, how gullible are they???

Goblin - good call! I'll see your Frank Zappa and raise you Captain Beefheart.

Once bought a record by Faust - made Kraftwerk sound mainstream. Totally weird. Bought PFM's first album - they were an Italian prog rock band signed to ELP's record label (Manticore) as I was well into ELP. Good album actually. Yes were a great band, particularly liked by the art college girls. Lots of fun discovering the deep meaning behind Jon Anderson's absurd lyrics.

Then there was Gentle Giant, Jethro Tull (sort of Prog) and The Alan Parsons Project coming late to the scene. Try looking up Roger Dean (Artist) who did a lot of the fantasy album covers - mostly associated with Yes.

No way. That's like one of the Dragons offering you £1.50 for 90% of your company. Mid-table.

They should reverse-auction the players. Their price counts down every day until someone loses their nerve and buys them.

How do you know what he gets up to in his leisure hours?

There's a slight sense of irony about that post...
