  1. That Wiki article is pure fantasy! And in an unashamedly sn1ggering allusion to PFC, it at least looks like they will be 'Packing the Krap' before the season's end. For the creditors' meeting, of course.
  2. ...and Poopey go down. ;-)
  3. Now sold out. I bought the last ticket! Guy behind me was well ****ed off - sorry mate!
  4. Yep, I got the same response to my question, although it took them two weeks to respond. I specifically asked about the failure of the 2010 CVA, NOT the current administration. I asked how companies can confidently trade with football clubs and what sanctions may be applied to deter clubs from doing this in the future. They're stonewalling, but presumably are noting the number of complaints they are receiving.

    Guly

Sums it up for me. What's happened to Chaplow?
  6. Have to say we had the chances, despite all the cynical play from the skates. Three brilliant saves from Ashdown kept them in it. One question to be answered - with five players in midfield who the f**k was supposed to be marking Norris?
  7. This. Sometimes, we're just far too slow in our build up.
  8. Ref let too many cynical skate tackles go. quite a few throw-ins wrong as well. Second half leaning on Sharp should have had a free kick, possibly a pen, got nothing. Two **
  9. Sport England has just cut its Tennis and Judo budgets. Now the publicity-seeking MPs down that way want them to toss in money to maintain a corrupt and expensive operation that will trade at a massive loss for at least another year, if it survives at all. I thought SE was about supporting and encouraging grass-roots sport, not propping up failed businesses. So perhaps they should support the Plan B? Comments to: funding@sportengland.org
  10. Actually, that covers East Falkland. West Falkland - the larger but less inhabited island - has only ever been occupied by the British (except for a couple of months in 1982, of course).
  11. Groupon: "They give loans to small businesses at a very steep rate (the price of the discount plus Groupon’s commission)." and "Groupon is essentially a sub-prime lender that does zero risk assessment." Very appropriate.
  12. Seems a bit more mobile than Sharp and has a lot of self-confidence. I think he can do a good job during the run-in.
  13. Well I think my plan to make lots of money has now gelled. I'm planning to buy a football club. One that's, say, struggling near the bottom of the Championship, so it won't be too expensive. I might have a little trouble raising the cash from the usual financial institutions, as a leveraged buyout against the clubs assets forms my main strategy. I'll obviously need some cash to back it up with, so I guess I'll have to raise that through 'alternative' lenders who are a little off mainstream. I should get their buy-in if I can guarantee their money back in five years with a good return on investment. Once I'm in, I'll pay myself a good wedge and splash out on a few half-decent players to make the break into the bigtime gravy train. Might need to get in a wheeler-dealer to persuade them to get aboard. Hey, if the wages and fees are a bit steep, I can just load a bit of debt on the club. Once we're in Dreamland, everybody wins, right? So a few seasons in the Prem creaming off the TV money, I can cash in when the creditors start calling by going into Admin. Might have to sell all those star players to keep the lid on the football debts (not too much, mind - don't want those HMRC unsecured creditors having too much of the debt). If I get a canny Administrator in tow, I should be able to keep the club going, exit with a moderate CVA, keep a hold on the assets and keeping bleeding the club for interest payments (remember the leveraged buyout?). Couple of seasons on, I can renege on the CVA and walk off debt-free. After all, who gives a sh1t? I think this could work and is a pretty unique idea that no one has tried before. The only drawback is that I might have to be photographed wearing one of the club scarves when I arrive as the club's 'saviour'. Still, I can always stuff it up my ar$e to ease the piles that I'll probably develop from sitting in a draughty, cold, wreck of a stadium for five years.
  14. They haven't answered my second email yet, in which I tried to pick apart their reasoning. I've asked for specific responses whether or not they will post a statement regarding the failure of the CVA. They took a rather long time to answer my first one as well...
  15. Special dispensation - they're all travelling in TCWTB's van.
  16. Don’t normally do knee-jerk reactions, but this was absolutely the worst performance of the season! Never threatened at all. If we play like that against Reading – or even the skates – we will get reamed. Scores on the doors: Davis: 7 – probably the only player to come out it with any credit, couldn’t do anything about the goals and made a few crucial saves. Butterfield: 2 – Normally a fan of Danny, but this was awful, just awful. Consistently out of position, constantly burned, passes went nowhere. Fonte: 4 – Shocking by his standards. Never really got a grip on the game. Hooiveld: 5 – At fault for the third goal and possibly the second. Should’ve done better with the scoring opportunity. Fox: 6 – Handled Ince intelligently, but could’ve got forward more. Chaplow: 6 – One of our better players in first half, showed better energy and movement than most. Why subbed? Schneiderlin: 6 – First half tried to carry the water and create a few passes, but out of things in the second half. Cork: 5 – Headless chicken most of the time. Usually wanted three touches, telegraphed his passes. Should impose himself more. Lallana: 6 – Made the running in the first half, passing well. Faded badly in second. Why can’t he get any power in his shots? So frustrating. Guly: 5 – Shocking first half and should’ve been subbed at HT. Five points for a much better second half when playing deeper. Sharp: 5 – Slow, lacking in confidence, no awareness. Awful penalty. De Ridder: 6 – Decent when he got the ball. But Fox, Guly and Cork (twice) could’ve switched play to put him in the clear, but chose to play down blind alleys. Barnard: 6 – Looked sharp and lively, but came on too late in the game. Worth a start. Fans: 9 – Still singing at 3-0, came across really well on TV. Commentator had to talk over the Poopey songs to drown them out. Well done guys and gals. Our Nige: 5 – Got it wrong today. Shouldn’t have taken RC off. Exactly what was that formation change in the second half? Several of the players didn’t seem to know. Officials 6: - Ref was pretty fair, but Linos got a LOT of decisions wrong, including both penalties (they weren’t). All in all a bad day at the office. Hopefully this is just a one-off.
  17. It's the manner of the defeat that's so galling. Lazy passes, no vision, no pace, wrong subs, wrong tactics, same old crap performance on TV
  18. The rest are sh1t...
  19. Saints MoM today is the travelling support.
  20. Sounds neat. Couple of questions: Is that AC3 encoding it won't play or AAC? I've found AAC to be more problematic. Also, will it play TS files (as Sony)?
  21. Why doesn't that hat fall off? Is his head shaped that way?
  22. Just hold-ups, no sus.
  23. Errr..... Piquionne's at Donny. Of course, that's why they're not scoring many, because he keeps scoring for Rovers. Or perhaps not.
  24. August 2008 - Watched Poortvliet's kids take apart Birmingham in the League Cup. Thought we'd take the Championship by storm. But then I guess anyone can beat Birmingham...
