At the time of the new pool being constructed I had some of the design drawings for the original pool & the board was definitely dimensioned as 10m. The reason this sticks with me all these years later is the diving board drawings were drawn to a metric scale & dimensioned in metric & all the other drawings were imperial, must've been a nightmare to reconcile the two on site. However, whether it was built as 9 or 10m is anyone's guess, but I think it likely to be the later because I seem to recall them using the diving boards for championships.

Poor kids, they've suffered enough.

Mick Channon thought he could better himself at Man City before coming back home, dabbled with Norwich & the Skates too.

This is the post I was referring too: https://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?59308-Thought-I-would-introduce-myself#.WnREMK5l99M

I wouldn't stop young kids using the loo, but I would stop teachers posting on football forums at 9.11am on a Wednesday.

I used the Justpark website & found a driveway about 15 minutes to north of the stadium for £10. Used it for the final & for the Queen gig on Friday, managed to get away quite quickly after both events.

I remember that, having actually caught one of the cartons, it was dispatched forthwith, back toward the rozzers -

Until a couple of years ago I knew Mick reasonably well, he lived in Oz for a good few years, the rumour was that he moved away to escape the family reputation, he returned 6-7 years ago, used to run the Kingsland Tavern & The Juniper Berry (it was known as the Bosuns Locker & IIRC he changed the name back to the JB). He's a decent bloke, fairly quite & understated, I never knew he was one of the famous McCarthy tribe until I'd known him for a couple of years, that said I wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of him, he's a big lad. My condolences to the family.

There was a ref in the local leagues, probably about 25 years ago who was blind in one eye. Despite his deficiency, he was one of the better refs around & was a decent bloke, happy to banter with the players & earning a lot of respect. I remember one match when he missed a clear handball, the offended player turned to him, asking if he was blind, his response was "yes, in my right/left eye" (I forget which), there wasn't much more his potential antagonist could say to that.

He'd have to drive (or run) from Highfield to get a better view :-)

Probably the ideal game to take kids too, no away fans means it'll be a friendly atmosphere & it's cheap. Let them bring their phones/ipads etc & if they get bored let them play Grand Theft Auto (or something :-) ). Take plenty of sweets.

Rip. Last one out, please turn off the lights :-(

No wind up, Lallana says "I hope you have a great day & I'm looking forward to see (sic) so many familiar faces"

If only she had two guns, she would have been in a position to defend herself.

Definitely still there. I spent a lot of my childhood in Riverside, my kids would ride the train most weekends during the summer & I run (shuffle?) past it a couple of times a week. It's certainly reclaimed Whitey, I was always lead to believe it was an old rubbish tip, which was leveled to form the leisure space, which is borne out by this: http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/heritage/archives/9543150.Post_war_push_for_Riverside_Park/

Just found this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-15258893 I've no idea where the Coach House Club was.

I think they have a picture of Marley on the wall at the Fleming Arms, but I believe he actually played in the now demolished pub, just up the road in Wessex Lane, on bend opposite the railway station. I think it was called the Masons Arms.

That was a response to AussieDog's post about Colin Clarke.
