  1. I personally think lallana is class, yes it's tricky to know where best to play him, but he's one of only a couple of players who seems confident enough to have the ball played to his feet when defenders are around him, and often he gets past them or makes the right pass. I'd keep him on the wing, unless Papa turns out to be much more useful as a winger rather than a striker, if so I'd play Lallana just off Lambert.
  2. Can't really believe all this negativity. Yes I am frustrated and worried that we are nor getting results, BUT, I thought we played really well yesterday and the only problem was not creating clear cut chances. Lambert is trying to do too much and therefore not as effective as he will be, once Papa starts I think that will change. Personally thought Mellis and Thompson had a good game, despite being the 'weak links' in my head. We absolutely battered them even before they had 10 men, so lets not moan too much.

    That's a great one!!!
  4. Holmes is a left winger so I see no point putting him on the right. I assume he is lacking match fitness so would leave him out of this one, Mills on the other hand should be ok as he played not so long ago. Mellis or preferably Papa Shango on the right for me but apart from that I agree.
  5. Amazing! As far as i'm concerned his name is Papa Shango. I hope he carries a smoking skull.
  6. Well I hope David McGoldrick isn't gonna deserve a place on this post in the future...I was interested to see what the forset fans think of him and here's their response; 'He's been one of our best players this season by all accounts. I've only seen him once - last week at QPR, but he seems to have adapted well.' 'I think McGoldrick looks to be a bargain at £1m.' 'That lads doing well, thanks for asking. Good luck for the season.' 'a couple of solid tackles today looked pretty decent all season so far though to be fair to him' Oh dear!
  7. I think Gillett is class, just lacking match fitness at mo as he isn't favoured.
  8. Has anyone got a beer? I'm out?
  9. I must say, thinking about it now, AP has done brilliantly with his signings. Harding has been fantastic everytime i've seen him play, Murty scared me at first looking fat and old (harsh I know) but slimmed down/improved rapidly and is incredibly solid, Trotman not seen but sounds great, as does Hammond and Lambert was the WOW signing and pretty much proved himself on his debut. That just leaves Mellis, perhaps the weakest? Looking forward to seeing some of the new aquisitions now we have some home games and i'm back off hol. All in all pretty spot on, well done AP (but please don't play Paterson on the wing)!
  10. 2-0 Saga to score (if he plays him!)
  11. 2-2. A lot of otherteams i'd go for saints win but think Brentford will be decent this year. Hope i'm proved wrong!
  12. I'm gonna play, here's mine... Davis Murty Thomas Trotman Harding James Hammond Gillett Mills Lambert Lallana Holmes if Mills not fit, Mellis coming on for Hammond or Gillett when needed. Right wing is weak link :-) Unless he proves himself
  13. I'll tell you what, i've been 110% supportive and excited by Pardew being manager, but he has a hell of a lot to answer for IMO!!!!! Absolutely crazy selection. I only listened from half time but was he playing Paterson on right and Mellis up front (behind lambert)??? Had he decided to leave Gillett on the bench whilst still playing Wotton, and finally...DID HE LEAVE IT UNTIL ABOUT 10 MINS 'TIL END BEFORE MAKING ANY CHANGE!!!!?? Was absolutely crying out for subs to be used between 60 - 70 mins! I can't believe it.
  14. This is great. I'm slightly ashamed to admit that I forgot we were playing tonight, when I realised I rushed on here. I CANNOT believe after all our talk on here that we are playing Lancashire and Wotton!!! I'm not saying they're the only week links but FFS, what does Pardew expect. I can't belive he's dropped Gillet. Radio time for me now...I'm a sucker for punishment!!! Come on a draw!! (not sexual!)
  15. Well i've been proven wrong - DOH!
  16. I'm suprised to disagree with most - I always wanted to like him but thought he was pretty awful. Don't think he'll be a great signing for them.
  17. That must be ******. I fauil to see how anyone can be 6' 6" and 11st 10!!! Even 6'4" which they mentioned in the article is pretty extreme! I wonder what crouchie weighs??? I can't be bothered to find out, but if someonefancies it...
  18. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what a result - well done pardew and the board
  19. Fan-dabby-dozee!!!!!!!!!!
  20. Has Fish Mills still not signed a contract!? Him and Murty today - boring but essential.
  21. Right it begins... Stern John Signs 1 year deal with Palace (we knew he was off but I guess you could have called him a target) Alan Bennet signs 2 year deal with Brentford (damn)
  22. Is that with Jaidi? I'd have been pleased is we'd have been linked with those two.
  23. To put it bluntly - YES!
  24. Right, being on summer holidays (teacher, not pupil), I have too much time on my hands and it's doing my nut. All i'm doing is constantly checking what players you guys are recommending and googling them! I thought, as it seems likely that the next few days will see lots of transfers in L1, we should start posting on this thread the players that have been mentioned on HCDJFU who have actually gone ELSEWHERE - I.e. cross them off the list! Get investigating guys! Thankyou
  25. I'd love Henri Camara, Alex Pearce, Alan Bennett, Sam Sodje, Jerome Thomas, Ricky Lambert, Billy Sharp...In fact most of the names mentioned on here are good! I really hope (and expect, after the last few sentences in the OS Stern John article) to hear something good in the next few days!
