Angelo Ogbonna - Another player we have missed out on

Wet Sham - still cant get over their 'Boleyn Insider' thing on their official website! 'I've been told this, I understand that'... Cool story bro! -
How tall is Harrison Reed?! Stood next to another player I thought was quite small and looked tiny!

Welcome to Saints Cuco!
-
Pretty sure he's breached contract quite a few times, so not really a surprise
-
Gaston featured quite heavily in the pre-season video - seemed to be one of the first there, chatting with the newbies and Gazza and generally seeming pretty happy with everything. Reckon he may well get a chance.

The kids - who will travel to Austria/make the 1st team squad?

There's a 9 minute video online featuring quite a few of the youngsters. Anyone know which ones were definitely in there? -
Turnbull? Is Stephens not the more highly rated of the two? Would've thought without Alderweireld that it'd be something like Fonte -Yoshida - Gardos - Stephens - Turnbull (5th choice)?

Pretty happy about this. Although a Liverpool fan in our office reckons a 15mil deal is confirmed for Clyne.

CONFIRMED: Saints sign Juanmi on four-year deal

Result! Welcome to Saints! -
Massive signing for them.
-
No real surprises in the list, although would've liked Rowe to have been given another year to see what he can do after a run of games. Disappointing Jake Sinclair didnt turn out as good as his brother!!
-
Vardy? He's an ok player, but is he England international quality - dont think so. Like others have said, not many other options with Ings, Berahino, Kane etc all in U21s and J-Rod injured. Doubt he'll play in the qualifier though, better to go with Walcott up front if Rooney / Welbeck / Austin arent playing. Happy for Austin, has deserved it.

Post-Match Reaction: Leicester City 2-0 SAINTS

Actually thought Djuricic looked alright when he came on. Rest were mostly hopeless. -
What has happened to Mayuka?! It seems like he was injured absolutely ages ago - any updates?
-
Obviously all want Toby to stay - a class act. Fingers crossed on that, but seems a little unlikely. I think Elia will sign permanently, and is a useful squad player. I've seen him have some good games, but some where he's also been a bit anonymous. If we're in Europe next year we'll need more bodies, so for 3 or 4 mil, we're not going to get much better than a Dutch international, who is certainly capable of a few moments of magic. Djuricic obviously hasnt played much for us to base any assessments on, but I was pretty impressed with his movement and skill vs Liverpool(?). Thought he looked like he would be a star for us (although a bit lightweight), but has since been mostly injured, which is a shame. Definitely not worth 9mil on current evidence but again might be a decent player for the squad if the price is right. Not convinced he overly wants to be here though?!
-
Tim Krul would be a good signing, good keeper, and fairly realistic for us. Probably about on a par with Forster. If they dont pick up a result soon, can see them going down (7 points off relegation, with a worse goal difference and having played a game more than Leicester), then almost certainly Sissoko, Perez and Janmaat will leave. Pa**** Cisse is another funny player - sometimes brilliant, sometimes rubbish.
-
Djuricic never gets much of a game, but has looked like he has potential to be a dangerous player on the few glimpses I've seen. Not sure what's happened to Elia.
-
Would be the perfect signing for Man City. He's the player they're missing.
-
Gazza's been getting some good reviews for the Under 21's, so you never know, might come good. Thrown into the first team and all the pressure of that too early IMO, often behind a fairly shaky defence.
-
So, who's strengthened the most during the transfer window? Personally, I think Saints have done well to get Elia (who looks very good), whilst signing Bertrand permanently. Djurcic(?) looks like he has potential, but probably wont be a starter ahead of Mane and Elia (and Tadic, although he's been off the boil recently). Hopefully likes a shot at goal! Looks like Palace have signed a few decent players, but seem to be going for quantity rather than quality with a few of them (Shola Ameobi?!). Not sure they have the money to be signing loads of players as never really sell anyone (bar the now re-signed Zaha) for much money... Chelsea's new winger Cuadrado was good in the World Cup and comes with a good reputation (which you'd expect for the price), but got feel like they never gave Schurrle much of a chance. Delle Alli great signing for the future for Spurs, but wont help them this season as back at MK. Hopefully the new non English speaking centre back for Arsenal has a few nightmare games whilst he settles in. As we know, Swansea have just signed a very tidy midfielder.
-
Yep, hope he gets a run out tonight or in the near future. Would be good to have another option for sure!
-
Dont care if he's 'Future England Captain', cant play someone in attacking midfield who cant finish off good chances. How we havent signed another striker to take some pressure off Pelle is beyond me too.
-
Hopefully he can celebrate with a long awaited prem goal this weekend.
-
Good signing. Hopefully can play upfront!
-
Definitely worth a chance for 2 mil. We're desperately short for backup for Pelle (i.e. dont have anyone besides an unproven and long term injured Gallagher), and he'd also benefit from being able to have a breather every now and again! Has worked with Koeman before, has a decent record, but has a bit to prove to City and Stoke... All in all, worth a shot!
