  1. it's also a great example why the window should be done away with altogether. It is driving up wages and fees unnecessarily.
  2. As long as no none expects him to use his left foot, it looks like. Nevertheless he thinks quickly.
  3. Cedric has asked me to add the bits you missed.
  4. Yes, I think he'd be better doing it on the move - though why break the habit of a lifetime?
  5. Joe Hart? Might Watson have played a part in his selection at the Euros? Admittedly, it might also be difficult to coach someone as arrogant and puffed up as Hart.
  6. Pity no one has told the Germans - they might not have bothered to turn up.
  7. And then change it again when the completion starts.... that's if you can call it a formation at all. There was little sign last night of any kind of team awareness, it's like each one gets the ball and then wonders where his team mates are, he can't look up before he gets the ball under control... if he gets it under control. They all seem to forget any coaching they've ever had, freeze and stare intently at the bloke with the ball. And when time's running out, put your head down and run like a headless chicken towards the other end - again paying no attention to what anyone else on the pitch is doing. Its a feckin mystery what happened to their brains when in a major competition.
  8. So now you can't even allow a player to get into the penultimate year without upping his contract, never mind the final year. Soon people will give a player a 3 year deal and after half a dozen games, if he did reasonably well, feel they need to up the deal before he gets near that penultimate year. The loons are taking over the asylum. I'd love to see Sky say they're rather fed up with football; it would be hilarious to see the hand-wringing and claims of poverty.
  9. If the club took the man at his word, yet like you they knew that if offered an amount more than the club would match, you wouldn't take him at his word at all, and would have some plans for that eventuality... which, after the Pochettino experience, I expect they have. Hopefully this time they'll move quickly enough to help prevent a third haemorrhage of players, and get in a decent pre-season.
  10. They were suckered by Potty Chino, so maybe they wanted to show that they were trying to complete a deal. Recall that RK said he always has been used to extending a rolling contract so there was no rush, all's cool....... blah di blah. You just cannot believe a word anyone in football utters. Money will almost always turn their heads. Why expect anything else.
  11. Yeah, they sound just like a bunch of ... f**tb*** cl*b sup***ers.
  12. Yeah, people said all this sort of thing before Potty Chino left. It's called rose tinted glasses with contributory myopia.
  13. Football is the trojan horse of the wealthy elite. How better to get the ordinary person to accept the exponential wealth grab by the already rich than by sponsoring obscene contracts in the "working person's sport". If it is ok in football, one cannot criticise it in other industries. We are being suckered.
  14. Just media talk - no truth in it like there was no truth in Pottechino going to Tottingham?
  15. Why is Alan Carr supervising my training?
  16. A god fried eh? I thought it was mars bars in Glasgow.
  17. I don't quite understand the figures - it suggests Fonte has only had to compete in 4-5 aerial duels per game all season. That can't be right surely? Perhaps I'm misinterpreting them.
  18. You actually saw that game? I was there too, and it was like watching a match by candlelight. Pompey were so skint there was only about 2 bulbs in each corner floodlight.
  19. Glad to see one of them knows how to put in a bit of effort.
  20. Sullivan: "They say he has no ligaments in his knee, who knows?" Well, Sullivan, if you don't know STFU. And to think the state gives an honour to his secretary Karen Brady, who masquerades as a "business woman". Tory Party mouthpiece, more like.
  21. Are you unfamiliar with the idea of making a comparison?
  22. Generally you say a lot of very sensible things. The problem for me is that while each makes good sense on its own, collectively they don't seem to convey an opinion on what is wrong overall, or where you think the blame lies. Maybe you don't think blame can be allocated. Maybe you think there's nothing can be done to turn this dreadful run around. Maybe you think that we are good enough and things will just turn around as a natural course. The highlighted comment however seems to suggest you have a considered view on the overall situation and where the blame might lie, and perhaps what ought to happen next. Would you like to share it? Genuinely, I'd really like to hear it. Maybe you have and I've missed it.
  23. Ah well, we are ok then.
  24. Well then I suggest Ralph gets on with it.
