Spurs are the threat to everyone, Poch has proved himself without doubt (I hate saying it). When he arrived with us he was unheard of. Have to admit Cortese knew what he was doing, I did not expect to say that when Adkins (what league is he in?) was sacked
-
Wasn't his greatest game the Cup replay against Forest, the one when we were 3-0 down with 15 mins to go and drew 3-3. the next replay was at neutral WHL and we won 5-0, did that put us in the semi ?

Saints have £12.7m bid for Stefano Sturaro rejected by Juventus
Dellman replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
We all know we need striker, I'm sure the board knows and certainly the manager knows BUT almpost every club in the Premiership and in the Championship and In La Liga and in Series A etc are looking for a striker so it aint going to be easy----or cheap -
We're a well run club? Do well run clubs sell all their best players, again and again?
-
Yes, Saints are not the only club to sign misfits..that Santa Maria fellow (or whatever his name was) cost Man U £50 million and was gone within a year after warming the bench. And the Falcao move was another fiasco. Spurs had even more failures after the Bale sale. There is certain to be a % of failures. On balance I would say we come out of it pretty well, which is proved by the climb through the leagues and the value of the present squad, in Premiership mid table.

Like quite a few of 'our' players -Lovren, Lallana, Lambert for a start - they were great in our system but not necessarily going to be as good in another environment. None of them have improved their reputaion since leaving, just their bank balance

Clasie will be ok when he has full fitness, reckon his second season will be better than his first, as with a lot of people from abroad. As for Morgan, can't get in a poor ManU team, but he's a millionaire, so he'll be happy. As for the OP question, Koeman hasn't lost it but the Board has and that must make him dispirited and affect the teaam

James Ward-Prowse's list of indisputable, unimprovable weaknesses

Now who am I going to back in this dispute: Koeman, Hodgson and Southgate or some guy called Spectical Stan -
How old is he now?

Cedric in the top 10 best tacklers in the PL (so far)
Dellman replied to doddisalegend's topic in The Saints
Our coaches must be the best, time and again newcomers are bedded in and produce the goods within a couple of weeks. Man U couldn't do it with Falcao or that Santa Maria guy and Fellani is still 'settling' after a year---and that lot cost £8o million¬ -
Very few of our 'ex' would get in our team now, certainly not Artur
-
Out of all the defectors very few would get in the present Saints team. Clyne would and Oxlade probably would but Lallana and even Theo are not as good as when thery were here and would probably be on the bench most of the time. By the way, has anyone heard of Lambert recently?
-
He's just not bothered, I'm sorry to reach that conclusion because I had such high hopes and thought it was just settling in problems at the beginning. We don't want lazy types or malingerers around the training ground, we're just going to have to accept it was a bad businees. it happens sometimes but look at the great signings we've made, the error rate is low.

I now realise how important Davis is. As for Clasie, I'm sorry for him being pitched into that battle, the game just passed him by, he had a job to get a kick, he's probably only had practice matches, he was over-run, a classic substitution that made things worse not better
-
It shouldn't be a top defender because they will be needed even more, he needs to be tall and used to jostling in the penalty area, maybe Pele. Mane dives well, but too short
-
If he goes to Sunderland, maybe it will be the best of their players instead of ours who end up with Liverpool
-
Sorry, posted on wrong thread. its a response to the thread about who will replace him. Senior moment, apologies
-
What a nutty question, how can anyone see the future like that, but rest assured, those responsible in the know and with the contacts will ,be ready!

The defence have confidence in him---important factor
