Hasenhüttl’s death-or-glory rejig revives Southampton’s menace
egg replied to SuperSAINT's topic in The Saints
Good, positive article. I feared that Ralph had lost the dressing room at the time of the 9-0 and had to go. The way he, and the players, have turned it around is remarkable. What I love about Ralph is the acknowledgement that he got it wrong, that he wasn't blaming others (the Redknapp syndrome) but instead took steps to change what he was doing wrong. They're rare qualities in the ego driven world of football. -

Assuming Gao stays, and given the reality of our finances (lots of crap players who's values are less then we paid on expensive contracts, an operating loss in our last published accounts etc) how should the club be run? The options seem to be : A) carry on wheeling and dealing whilst trying to shed the donkeys, or B) borrow to build, or C) something else - if so what? What's the solution? -
He's more than that. It's where he runs, and the space he makes for others. He's a good footballer, albeit a shocking finisher. Ings goal tally has much to do with Long.

Hypo, quit following me with your pathetic trolling. Feel free to pm me with any opinion you have of me and I'll be happy to explain what a helmet you clearly are.

Of all the opinions against Lemina you choose to focus on mine, but you're a lone voice mate. If you saw him regularly, and particularly in that semi final, you'd agree with the concensus. It's all about opinions, but I never thought I'd see anyone trying to argue that Lemina consistently showed passion and commitment in a saints shirt.

His performance in the fa cup semi against Chelsea will live long in the memory. I've never seen any player look so disinterested in such a big game. Ability wise he was a great signing, but attitude wise he was a shocker. Sadly I can't see any chance of him fulfilling his potential here or anywhere and I'd take the most cash available this summer to get him off the books.

He's a clever player. Makes masses of space by dragging defenders where they don't want to be. His presence in the team has helped Ings massively. He deserves another year.
-
Agreed. He has rarely looked interested while he's been with us. Shame as there's a brilliant player in there.

Don't be a troll mate. The point has been done to death. Go out and enjoy the sunshine

I've said many times that I acknowledge that the club use the media as part of it's pr machine! You don't have to keep asking mate. I've also said several times that I have no opinion on why a journalist published a particular article re our finances. To clear up your other non point, I have no doubt that journalists get things wrong. You, however, have swerved my point a few times now about why you say that the club will apparently use the telegraph to peddle transfer lies mid season. You and I know that you can't answer because your point is a daft one. I don't mind debate mate but you're not debating, you're repeating a question that's been answered and ignoring a question which challenges your point. By all means have the last word, but I'll leave it there cos other posters will be as bored reading my attempt to debate with you as I am trying to.

Thanks. So they'd either need to smash their wage cap to sign either or we'd have to put our hands on our pockets. We still don't know whether they'd want either though.

Any chance of answering my point? It's your argument , not mine, that the club use the media (and I think the manager!) to issue false transfer rumours/lies mid season. I said : "Nobody has said that the club don't use the media as part of its pr machine. Explain a) why mid season (after season ticket sales) the club would use the media to peddle rumours about signings that won't happen, and b) why Ralph would join in the game. That kind of nonsense won't get fans on side, or keep the manager happy". Go on, give me the answer. Is the club trying to sell season tickets it's already sold? Is Ralph a lying puppet? If it's none of those, what actually is your point? If you haven't got one, say so, and we'll move on and save everyone from this tedium. I've answered your question re finances but to clarify I don't have an opinion about what a journalist wrote re the clubs finances. The facts which are contained in the accounts.

Again you swerve a point. I repeat my last post: "Nobody has said that the club don't use the media as part of its pr machine. Explain a) why mid season (after season ticket sales) the club would use the media to peddle rumours about signings that won't happen, and b) why Ralph would join in the game. That kind of nonsense won't get fans on side, or keep the manager happy". It's your point, not mine, that the club use the media (and I think the manager!) to issue false transfer rumours/lies mid season. Please address my point without veering off again. As to media articles re our finances, I have no opinion. The facts are in the accounts.
