  1. He's not a natural striker though so it's not fair to expect him to perform like a natural finisher (i'm still not sure why he's being played as a striker tbh - behind the strikers is the best place for him). He runs his heart out for the team though and i thought he worked well with Lambo.
  2. I'd be surprised if we don't have him for the season at least.
  3. Lambo easily.
  4. Brilliant game, it started off at such a high tempo with both sides coming close to scoring. (we should have been 1 up before they got their 1st) We took about 5mins to settle once they'd scored, but after that we just bombarded them and quite frankly they couldn't deal with our attack, especially lambert who was back to his best and deservingly man of the match. It wasn't just his goal (which was a brilliant hit) but it was his general play, holding up, winning the header, passing it on...he was brilliant and lead the game for us from the front. Guly was frustrating but i didn't think he was awful, he just makes the wrong deicions when he's in the box (but he's never been a natrual striker afaik) Chambo was great and i really hope he stays as this is the only place he's going to get the football he needs, in a consistent winning team week-in, week-out. Look at Shelvey who went from Charlton to Liverpool - does he even play? completely forgotten about now. Same with Delph who left leeds for Villa. Ok i know all players are different but i truly believe he'd be slowing down his progress by moving now, I'm not mad enough to think we'll keep him forever but at least 18 more months isn't too much to ask is it? Good to see Jaidi score, thought he had a good game today, really strong up against their strike force which is pretty powerful. Hope we sign Chappers....he has so much energy and drive through he middle of the park and is too good for this level IMO, so we'd been picking up a complete gem. We really need to follow this up with a win against Exeter though, then we will really be cooking.
  5. Huddersfield will be kicking themselves - they've just lost at home 1-0 to Hartlepool, what a random league this is. Big game on Tuesday now.
  6. Looks like it's a case of D'urso strikes again. Possibly the most incompetent referee in the game.
  7. Interestingly, again, almost all L1 games are off. So the backlog is increasing for everyone, not just us. We should be able to cope with it better too.
  8. Nice one. I've forgotten what it's like to watch us play football. Are we any good? A ground of Charlton's stature should have been able to get the game on, really.....
  9. Interesting that Millwall are after him. Maybe they aren't planning on keeping Punch...?
  10. great weekend for us then really, nothing has changed in league terms. Exeter v Wednesday was the only game on....and Wednesday are losing that 3-1.
  11. I think it's just the normal ''new manager at club x, wants to raid former club for players''. Lazy, easy journalism if anything. We had it when Pard's came here, we were linked with all sorts of Charlton players of which none materialised. Signing L1 players isn't going to be sending a great signal to the Newcastle fans either.
  12. I doubt many games will go ahead this weekend, so we're not going to be left behind. The snow will cause problems for most areas but at this level frozen pitches will be a common theme.
  13. dear me
  14. A davis howler 0-1 brentford
  15. A very nice read, if you have a chance watch the full 8min interview on the BBC site as it's very interesting. He's often made comments about building us on the a Barcelona style template and it looks like he's deadly serious about that. Would love to know who the big sponsor is too..
  16. Not going to chance getting to Eastleigh this morning, apparently the main roads in and around eastleigh have not been grited. The slushy mess on the road is also turning icy here now as well, was passable earlier down my road but it's getting worse.
  17. Some people reckon areas in the South could get up to a foot of snow. It's showing no signs of slowing down...it's getting heavier here if anything. Parts of Kent have been hit with 25-30cm of snow....!
  18. This is going on all night - i doubt there will be much moving here tomorrow morning.
  19. shame he's been banned, his posts were quite interesting a lot of the time - but slightly hard to read too.
  20. Swansea 1 - 2 Skate ****s
  21. We'll get a few showers over the weekend but i doubt it will amount to much. The forecasters haven't said too much yet, but the middle and end of next week looks horrendous for everyone - including us. Lots of significant snow everywhere and it gets even colder.
  22. After a slow start we've now started to continue our form from the back end of last season and if we keep that going, which i expect us to do with more additions in january, then we'll win the league with room to spare. I'm very confident with our chances because we've managed to keep within touching distance of everyone, and this is also with the promise of quality additions in january to add to our already quality squad - this will be coupled with sides in and around us loosing their better players as we've seen today. It's going to be a very exciting 2011, I'm sure of it.
  23. This league is weaker now without the likes of McCoid, Jermaine Easter, Marcus Tudgay - so that can only serve as more ammunition to us. We may have not got anyone, but we will certainty benift from our rivals loosing their better players.
  24. Any reason? we don't need one and it would be a stupid expense. Kelvin is top class for us and we have a quality understudy in Bart waiting in the wings. GK is the one position we really don't have to worry about what so ever.
  25. harding and seaborne are both nursing knocks
