  1. To be fair, I rated Zouma and Martins-Indi as good signings at the time. **** knows what happend to them.
  2. Ffs. Everyone could see what he meant.
  3. Not sure selling Hoedt is the most sensible, given that we'll probably lose Yoshida as well. I think he is clumsy and awkward to watch but I still have a tiny bit of hope that alongside a powerful/leader type he will be a lot better. We do need at least 2 CB's though. I'd be tempted to loan out one of Bedranek and Stephens, bring in a proper replacement for VVD and then another powerful type to suplement the sqaud. We generally lack a bit of experience back there.
  4. There's a lot to sort out once the dust has settled on Sunday. Maybe we'll get the 'five pledges' ?
  5. Unfortunately, it does look as if his time is up here. He's scored some important goals for us, he’s the sort of guy you want to see do well but generally he hasn’t seemed well suited to the cut and thrust of the PL on a long-term. He needs to head back to Italy where I think he's comfortable, then we can look to sign someone a bit more effective for us.
  6. I can see him at a L1 club like Sunderland or Barnsley.
  7. He makes such a difference to the back 4 because he cames and wins the ball - either catches it, or gets really good distance on his punches. Given the lack of decent GK options, he surely has to be an option for the world cup?
  8. No doubts there. We're not any worse than Watford or Brighton though, so we should have been a tad more comfortable. We have some decent quality in certain areas, but need a big overhaul though for sure.
  9. There will be a lot of changes in my opinion. We are too passive at the back, we need some genuine power and strength back there and someone who can actually win the ball in the air. (a leadership presence) I think Hoedt is clumsy as hell but would benefit alongside someone stronger and quicker. We need to work out what's going on with Gabbiadini, Carrillo. Sign a couple of attacking goal scorers with pace (Promes/Sisto). Build around the likes of Romeu, Hoj, Lemina in the middle. The squad has decent quality in certain areas, but is genuinely a poor mix of 'types'.
  10. Let's be honest, any half decent manager would have this squad performing. He is a half decent manager, so that's why we're performing. No reason not to keep him on. Everyone seems to have bought into him, and for the first time in 2 years there are chants for a manager at our games.
  11. Huge, mind-blowingly huge. It wasn't a perfect performance by any means, but what it lacked in technical style, it made up for in grit and determination. This is the main trait that Hughes has brought to us, and let's be honest....any half decent manager would bring to us. Get back to basics, mix up the play a little and play with a genuine purpose. To this day I still do not understand what Puel or MP were trying to do with us, revolutionise football or something, but it was all too over complicated and it never made any sense. Barring in absolute crazy situation, we can probably now start tentatively planning for next year, which I must admit looked a long way off a few weeks ago. Why on earth did we stick with MP for so long?
  12. I already feel sick.
  13. We stay up.
  14. Bony is out for the season I believe, well long-term. Bit of next season too.
  15. For me it's as simple as failing to beat Swansea and it's all over. Done and dusted. In my mind we only have 1 game left, totally discounting the City game.
  16. It really is this simple. This weekends results have created this clear oppertunity.
  17. I personally think it's as much a must-win for them, as it is for us. It's pretty much like a final, a playoff if you like. Winner takes all. I honestly can't see many tactics at play, it's just a case of who can get over the line and get 3 points. We win, and it's a Huddersfield/Swansea showdown on the final day for that last spot. I probably shouldn't think like this, but to me tuesday is our final game, our last chance to get any points. That's how I'm looking at it anyway.
  18. Absolutley, it's a numbing result. But after the dust settles, todays results have been amazing and gave us a tiny buffer. A defeat today would have been a ****ter, but at least it's now 100% clear what we need to do.
  19. Swing it round the other way for a second. What if we'd just snatched a last second draw against Everton to pull us out of the relegation zone? Just trying to put a tiny positive spin on it. Today's results gave us a tiny, tiny buffer of which this draw was. Win Tuesday, simple as that. No going into the game needing a draw, holding for a point, just try and score as many goals as you've ever scored. Let a few in probably, but just make sure you come out on top.
  20. What if we'd have beaten Huddersfield, Swansea, Brighton etc at home. Can't pin any eventual outcome on any result for me.
  21. Last kick of the game at home, finished 2-2. Crouch went for goal at the death when he should have went for the corner...... Those things never leave your mind.
  22. With us palying Man City, that's unfortuntley not beyond the realms of possibility. Albeit unlikley.
  23. His legs are too long for his body. He really is such an uncomfortable player to watch.
  24. As pretty much as simple as it needs to be put! There's always talk of must win games, but this is actually one of those. There's no corner to hide behind now. This is the last chance we have to pickup points this season.
  25. Barring a huge goal swing (assuming we get beaten by City). 36 points for us, 33 for them with at least a +8 better GD. And then you have Hudders too. Basically if we win, it's a final day showdown between Huddersfield and Swansea.
