  1. We don't have much choice, we made the decision to stubbornly stick with MP for as long as we did, missed out on potential appointments, so we are now left to play with the left overs in an empty pool. As CB alluded to earlier, we've made an absolute cockup of this season and that's why we've limited our choices. We're not going to be sacking him after 8 games and he's not going to be here for just 8 games, so we better buckle up and hope we can get a little bit of momentum from it as he will be our manager for the next 18 months at least.
  2. He'll still be our manager whatever happens.
  3. Guido has lost his master.
  4. Do you mean Lee Johnson? Decent young manager, but his side have fallen away massivley since their Man Utd herroics. We're also not going to get a manager who is currently in a job.
  5. Maybe we have had our feelers out to Silva's people for a while, but he's made it clear he won't be interested. The fact is that the club needed to kickstart a reaction, they knew we couldn't carry on with MP. The clear criteria that I can see for any newly appointed manager is - experience of the PL. The fact remains that MP should have gone during or before January, that would have opened a window to a bigger choice. 1) we had loads of money to spend, and 2) we still have quite a bit of the season to go. We've got 8 games left, we're into spring, the choice isn't great. Let's just accept that the club did what they needed to do (albeit way too late) and just accept that whoever replaces him now isn't going to be some sort of worldy. If it's enough to strike a reaction and get us performing then it's a result.

    Marco Silva

Sad to hear that Weston - I'm sure once the dust settles you'll be back!

    Marco Silva

Appreciate the info. For what it's worth I can only see it being one of the 3: Hughes Silva Bilic
  8. Any new manager we get now isn't a stop gap, we can be sure of that. Whoever we get is another 'long term', what that means these days. But certainly more than 8 games anyway.
  9. Not sure why people are suggesting managers who are in jobs. Anyone we get now will be out of work and ready to step in. People like Rogers or Jovanovic @ Fulham are not going to walk away from their clubs with just weeks left. IMO there are only 3 people it could be, so be prepared for it to be one of these - Hughes Bilic Silva
  10. At the end of the day, whoever comes in now gives us a better chance than we had. That alone should galvanise the support. For what it's worth I thought Hughes got stale at Stoke, they made a few poor transfer choices and the atmosphere became a bit laboured after that. He did all right in the main over the years at Stoke. And, let's not forget, he managed to beat Pelligrino, so he's better than him automatically. Surprised no one is mentioning Bilic, got a sneaky feeling it may be him. Based on nothing other than a feeling.
  11. How long until our jeremy wilson article...?
  12. As was getting ****ed over by Palace, failing to beat Huddersfield, getting arse raped by Claude Puel. The list goes on. Hoped he was the man at the start, but I have learned to actually detest the bloke.
  13. It feels like we've won a game. I hope the players feel as lifted as the fan base right now, even the news of this has galvanised me.
  14. In all the excitement, we've missed a goal. Stoke 0 - 2 Man City.
  15. Didin't we have an ITK on here who said we'd sent our feelers to agents a while back?
  16. These stats in black and white are just damming Mauricio Pellegrino 30 games win - 16.7% points per game - 0.93
  17. Maybe I was ITK.
  18. praise the ****ing lord. what a disaster he has been. why it took so long is beyond me. but they've acted, which they needed to.
  19. What you'll find (if we do get relegated) is that clubs won't pay the fee's we demand, so we will be loaning lots of these guys out just to get a % of their wages off the wage bill.
  20. Maurico Pellegrino.
  21. That comment, and the 'We don't expect to lose players to Everton, let alone our manager' comment sums us up as a club for me. Arrogant tosspots who believe they're a cut above everyone else.
  22. They'll come out with some speil, I'm sure.
  23. You won't hear from the club when the going is tough, they've got no angle to promote their southampton way ******** at the moment, so they'll just stay silent until we survive and they can tell us how it was all a genius implimentation.
  24. Quite funny reading RAWK, no surprise to see a few of their lot pinning the blame on the dad. (although he was a **** tbf). It's not bad enough to lose his job apparently.
  25. TBF there are threads with this topic already. Your points are agreed by everyone.
