  1. About £8m apparentley
  2. He's a wide attacker isn't he? They#'re clearly going all out on every front right now...
  3. I think it seems as if Utd are keen, they have been negotiating to a point. They have seemingly agreed terms with Morgan and his agent, but are yet to negotiate a serious enough bid for us to accept. It should only be a matter of time though.
  4. Maybe, but I'm pretty sure we'd have had £4m, £9, and the £7.5m put aside for all our 'loans to buy' from last season, without relying on sales to complete them.
  5. So...potentially Ramos to Man Utd, they've bid £28m for him (although that prob won't be enough). Ramos has apparently told Madrid he wants to leave, and that he's committed to doing so this summer. So...even Real Madrid have situations where their top players want to run! They seem to be trying the Galactico model, don't they? Ramos this year, Di Maria last year, Falcao (ok, he flopped).
  6. I may be wrong, but I think the only way Porto are able to pay ''up front'' is via some sort of third party ownership scheme? So in theory, whilst he outright leaves Marseille, he's still not owned in full by Porto. That's what I've kind of gleaned/read from some articles anyway.
  7. If only our friend Adam could have acted in such a way. Although to be fair, Lovren did turn up to pre-season. I remember Cork walking behind him and making some sort of joke.
  8. He took a good corner v Man City.
  9. Atletcio are making that near enough impossible for him. I can't see him staying there, to be honest. The way they're touting him around is a teller. I think if he leaves that club, he will come here - that's been my belief from day one. Just let Madrid play their games for however long. To be fair, he's their player, he had a storming season, so they're entitled to test the market and see what they can get for him. But it just doesn't seem too fair for Toby.
  10. Let's not get excited here. I think he's been a good professional and turned up and trained today, just as he should do (quite a few players can take note). But it's clear Utd want him, and £24/25m shouldn't be too much of a stretch for them. I think it's a damn good price as well. It will happen.

    Toby

Atlectio are just playing games with him I think. They seem him as an expensive potential make-weight in any deals they want to do, maybe. Totally out of order on Toby though if that's the case.
  12. Is there any reason to be an utter **** about it?

Well, the same ITK's who said that they wre confident of getting Morgan. So who knows. Positive of a good outcome on this one though.
  14. They won't get anyone if they keep throwing around silly little bids. They put £6m on the table for him apparently.
  15. Whatever situation is found for him, he'll never come back here. I doubt the players would be happy to see him what so ever, horrendous human being. Makes me sick that he's probably getting around 50k p/w from us right now, for doing utterly **** all. There's no surprise he didn't turn up for pre-season, but he's still a ****. I mean if I was employeed and I didn't turn up for work, beat up my bosses and work mates, did the same when I was on secondments (whilst having wild sex parties), then I'm pretty sure I'd have been sacked and my contract ripped up. Why on earth can't we do the same here? He's clearly been in breach of it 1000000000000x times.

Some of the Spurs ''ITK'' people seem to think this is all agent bluff and they're not interested what so ever. They believe Wimmer was bought to compliment Jan Vertongan, Fazio, Dier That's what it's looked like to me from day one, to be honest. Especially with the Chelsea 'swap' stuff. I think Atlectico are trying to the market, throwing his name out there and bouncing around crap to generate interest. When you think of the silly little bids Spurs are flying in for players, I wouldn't have expected them to be in a position to massively gazump us. And I just think Toby is a decent bloke. When he said he'd like to stay here, I think he's genuine. He didn't have to say that, but I genuinely believe that if we pay what Atletcio want...then he's ours (and once they've stopped playing games), as from what I understood from the pre-agreed stuff, we actually have a 4 year contract on the table for him as well. (That has to be agreed as part of the ''option to buy'' when the loan was made, apparently)
  17. This isn't even worth a tiny bit of concern. He will not go anywhere. He will honor his contract at the very least. But the club have probably got a replacement plan in full gear already, for the eventuality sometime down the line (but it's nothing to worry about in the near future, for sure).
  18. 4 years is pretty standard, usually they come with clauses that if you reach a certain amount of games there's an optional extension to sign etc (I think Jay triggered that a season or so ago, and then got injured). I think 5/6 year contracts are pretty rare, the financial outlay is huge for a club like ourselves. A massive gamble really. And people saying we leave it too late, how do you know what goes on behind the scenes? I'm pretty sure we'd have been on top of Clyne's/Morgan's contracts a while back, probably coinciding with all the crappy instability of last pre-season which didn't help. But it's pure folly to think the club just left it to the last minute to negotiate a deal.
  19. He's made of glass though, that's the problem. No doubt a good player, but if he didn't have fitness/injury issues, they'd keep him IMO.
  20. Lol Osvaldo isn't there, he won't ever be here again. Jeez. Talk of anyone giving him a chance is pure fantasy. Kelvin the character. Big guy in that dressing room, huge for the club I think.
  21. 2 massive signings down their spine, impressive.
  22. That is so amateur hour. I'm surprised the club's and agents allow it. I'd hate one of the Libeheer's to do a similar thing. West Ham are treading on dangerous ground, I think. It'll be very interesting to see how they do. They're looking (apparently) to ship out the dependable's such as Noble, Dowling etc and they're replacing them with the likes of Payet and Obaing. To me, that's a bit risky. You're replacing tried and tested PL players with foreigners. Just like they did with the manager. It may work out just fine, but is it a risk they needed to take just now? Why not steady the ship, carry on consolidating, bank the mega TV deal and then move to the stadium and invest. They seem to be gambling before they have anything to gamble with. I remember being impressed with Newcastles signings last summer. Cabella, Riveillre - but they did nothing, zilch. Or when Norwich signed Fer and Ricky Whatshisnamewinkel. They're going after all these ''apparent'' big names, but forgetting what got them to this position in the first place. It would be a good laugh to see them in their new stadium in the NPC.
  23. Our old friend Charlie is trying his hardest, but no one is really biting this summer. Thankfully.
  24. Given the names we're being linked with (and they are of top quality) I think the club see the importance of it. We've had a good 12 months of knowing we will need to replace. I don't think the club have been naive in thinking he ''may'' stay, so I'm sure we have a huge list of player's who match his attributes. It's time for the ''black box'' to pay back it's expensive fee....
  25. I'm not surprised at Lighthouse's view to be honest, as under his previous guise as Arizona he was one of those who wanted Wotton starting in place of him. If I'm honest, I'm a little bit anxious that he's leaving. Last summer was a tricky one, as we lost lots of good players. But we still did well because the likes of Wanyama, Morgan, Clyne are of a very good level. Those guys stepping up to the mark last season, coupled with the excellent recruitment policy gave us a terrific foundation to build on. That's why I think it's so, so, so important we get the midfield position right. Just look at the stats from his season, there's no one better in the league, and then when you stick him next to Wanyama you are going to have a pretty formidable wall. There's no way we could afford a ''Gardos'' type signing in his position. He will leave an enormous hole, whilst not impossible to fill, will be incredibly difficult and somewhat pricey.
