  1. VVD is the only outstanding success from our recruitment last summer. In fairness to them though, both Steklenburg and Martina have probably fulfilled the roles asked of them, temporary GK, and a back up RB (although he has taken on a more prominent role), but neither really at the quality needed longer term. The jury is still out on the remainder though, Romeu - good in parts, but too prone to yellow cards in his early days. Clsie is a quality player, but still has to adapt to the rigours of the English game. Both strike me as probably good in the right midfield partnership, but probably not together, or even with VW. PLace either alongside Morgan last season, they might have been a revealation. Soares - disappointing, and I don't think he has shown the same quality as Clyne in his first season. Austin - hope he doesn't carry his injury record into next season. Perhaps they will all rise to the level next season with a years experience, and full pre-season ahead of them, but I'm hoping the Summer 2016 recruits are of the quality to make an impact next season, and not need a 12 month bedding in period.

  3. Didn't he have a phase when he refused to be seen publicly or speak, so had a bag over his head when attending awards ceremonies etc ?
  4. All the souvenirs I want are in the roofspace.
  5. Interesting conclusion in the article:
  6. Does this sound familiar? http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/7089213/Maurico-Pochettino-makes-Tottenham-sweat-on-new-deal-as-fears-grow-of-swoop-by-Manchester-United.html Go on Poch, Man Utd - biggest club in the orld !! - you don't need convincing surely ? Or PSG perhaps ? Didn't he try selling himself to them whilt he was still with us ? One of his former clubs.
  7. water
  8. Kirkoff would be my choice if we can prise anyone away from there in the event they go down. Unfortunately though I'm expecting Fat Slob Sam will keep them up.
  9. Was there any real evidence of interest though, other than being touted on here ? I recall one newspaper report where his name was mentioned as a potential Saints target but apart from that, nothing. Shame as I suspect he'd have been a better option than the two we brought in.
  10. What chance Moyes is in position on Saturday, new manager syndrome and all that ?
  11. Aren't Mary's Meals our new sponsors ? Serious guess - probably someone we've never heard of. So it won't be Dalian Wanda
  12. Better back up option than Gazzaniga though from what yo've seen of him ?
  13. Don't worry I think Pamplemousse misheard, it's KY... As opposed to Anusol. According to North Stand Chat, they're sponsoring Brighton next season.
  14. Read an article a few days ago that Southend's GK, Daniel Bentley is out of contract at the end of the season. Have read some good reports about him and think he might be a good back up for FF next season (with a view to taking over when FF f's off to a mega deal in a season or so).

  16. its the old, old story though .... possession, missed chances... and then the inevitable.
  17. Several players of his stature have made it, and you don't get into the Spanish squad without having something about you. As someone said not really given a run to show what he's capable of, but then again he obviously hasn't convinced RK he can be relied upon to have that chance. Have to question whose choice he was really. If we do release him hope its with a hefty sell on clause in case he realises his potential elsewhere.
  18. Shearer tends to be complimentary about Saints though. (Perhaps for that reason)Rather listen to Shearer than some of the other dullards on there.
  19. Don't think people want rid of him, just realistic assessment of the fact the player wants out.
  20. Might they be focussed on their semi-final coming up? Both teams are capable of 'not turning up' though, so difficult to predict. Due a win there, think we might sneak it.
  21. Surprised the Asian market haven't snapped that lot up. Obviously playing in plain red shirts is all thats needed to create interest in the Far East and be succesful on the pitch as both Cardiff and Leicester testify.
  22. Fair point - perhaps I should have said he's looking disinterested at a new club.
  23. Thats it in a nutshell really. Far too big to stick in a pocket during the match, and cumbersome to hold for 90 minutes. I always thought it was a 'brochure' designed for those in corporate hospitality rather than a fan in the stands etc. Cost takes the p!ss a bit as well. Swansea's programme was £3 and perfectly adequate (as was Eastleigh's a few weeks ago).
  24. A couple of Swansea fans I know said they wanted him out of there due to his attitude and strops. After Shelvey was featured on MOTD for a couple of his early games for Newcastle he seemed to have settled in with a renewed attitude, although its always a question how long a player like that can stay focused. Just surprising he's looking so p!sssed off so soon at a new club.
  25. Hey Dalek, I think we're mathematically safe.
