  2. Sitting in a bubble, isolated from other fans and walking round a one way system, sounds pretty horrendous to me. Not to mention the jobsworth stewards who’ll no doubt be telling you where to stand & who to keep apart from. The atmosphere is pretty dire at modern football grounds as it is, this sounds horrendous to be honest. Without away fans, and a scattering of “bubbles” with vast gaps in between, it’ll have the feel of a league cup tie against Rochdale on a wet weds evening in Nov. I’ll renew just to ensure my seat when we’re back to normal, but doubt I’ll be too bothered if I miss out on the ballot.
  3. Absolutely, 100%. Ive 4 kids, 2 went to Grammar 2 didn’t. The difference in education they got was like night and day. The Boys one had a lot of privileged kids whose parents had gone private prior to the entrance exam, but the girls school was full of poorer kids & a lot of girls with Asian backgrounds (far in excess of the local population %). The problem pre comprehensive wasn’t the Grammar schools, but the shitty education the majority who failed to get in got. They basically abolished the bit that was working, instead of the bit that wasn’t. Grammar schools aren’t for everyone, (my sister didn’t send my niece there despite her passing the entrance exam, and my lad would probably have been better off in the top stream of a comprehensive rather the bottom of a Grammar), but they should play a role in every area of the country, rather than a few isolated places. The Tories should be ashamed their not making the case for them, it’s a great tool for social mobility. Not only for poor kids, but middle class ones as well.
  4. Absolutely. 100%. It’s a scandal, but the most scandalous thing is that the so called Tory party went along with the dismantling of Grammar schools and the general dumbing down of university education.
  5. The kids competing with the ones given exaggerated grades will probably give a shit, as an employee I will as well. As for your second point, If they got A’s in their mocks, the triple lock announced means they’ll get A’s, so don’t know where you saw that example. The BBC probably. At the end of the day, the anger should be directed in the direction of the people who closed the schools and cancelled the exams, and the people cheering them on. That’s what’s caused the issue.
  6. Behave. Not obvious at all.
  7. Bit like many teachers then. Once Johnson caved in and closed schools this was always going to happen. The people moaning from the sidelines now we’re the same ones pushing the most to close schools. It wasn’t beyond the wit or wisdom of man to socially distance the A level & GCSE pupils & continue their schooling, before sitting socially distanced exams. It’s a scandal that it didn’t happen. Clearly Johnson will fold and do a Krankie, allowing the inflated teacher predictions to stand. It’s the latest watering down of education in this country. As an ordinary joe I thank my lucky stars my brightest 2 were able to attend Grammar schools, a luxury most parents are denied.
  8. Barca are defending like we did against Leicester
  9. If they’ve got no identity papers, where do we send them back to?
  10. Anyone who thinks Johnson is going to cut immigration, hasn’t been studying his career very closely. He’s even proposed an amnesty in the past.
  11. He doesn’t seem to understand the Brexit immigration debate was over FoM, legal immigration. We always had the levers to control illegal immigration (just not the will),we now have control of legal immigration as well. Whether we use that control is open to debate, but it’s there, and it wasn’t before leaving.
  12. If face masks can be fiddled with without causing an issue, why do NHS staff receive training which specifically says touching them is a risk to themselves, patients and the spread of the disease. Why are they told not to reuse them, but to throw them away each and every time they have to touch them. Why are they also given comprehensive instructions of how to dispose of them safely?
  13. Do you understand the difference between legal immigration & illegal immigration?
  14. This is just a complete pony argument.
  15. Exactly. My snap dragon was given pages and pages of instructions for wearing of masks in her hospital. From not touching your face, to disposing of it correctly. None of this is followed by the public. You should see the state of some of the face coverings I’ve seen this week, dirty and in and out of pockets, handbags etc, and reused over and over. I even saw one plank pull it down to have a fag outside the co op, before pulling it back over his face. Completely pointless nannying from the Government.
  16. Where you going to send them back to, if not France? If they refuse to name their country of origin, what we going to do, guess? “OH, Mo, you look Iraqi , it’s back to Baghdad for you my son”. I’m all for sending them home, but it’s not that simple. The only way to discourage them is to treat them like shit, so that France is a more attractive proposition, or make the channel crossing so dangerous that it puts them off attempting it. Neither of those should be policy in a civilised country. It’s a long term issue that I doubt we’ll ever solve until the awful places they live in are decent tolerant peaceful societies.
  17. I reckon the over 55’s should get priority. We haven’t got as many games left to watch as the nippers.
  18. The issue was legal immigration. What on earth has illegal immigration got to do with the EU?
  19. It’s worth posting Matt’s take on it. Seems perfectly acceptable to me.
  20. I used to think Lawrie was a legend, but when I heard him talk about quantum physics, I quickly changed my opinion. The bloke was fucking clueless.
  21. Hi Frasier
  22. What’s the betting they don’t take into account their “culture” , area they live in, or colour of skin. Can you imagine the outcry if a 51 year old Muslim from Leicester has to be in lockdown but a 51 year old whitey from Penzance doesn’t. The lefties won’t want the science followed then.....
  23. It would surprise me if it surprised you.
  24. Been promised a coaching role in his final year as well.
