Nigel was the right man at the right time and after Lawrie is my favourite Saints manager, but it will be ****ing mental to re-appoint him. I just hope the poster was joking . I'd have him running the development squad but wouldn't let him anywhere near the first team. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The only phrase I want to read containing Southampton FC, mutual consent & Nigel Adkins is " Puel leaves by mutual consent, and like Nigel Adkins is unlucky to lose his job". Nigel Adkins mentioned in any other context is a bit frightening imo . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I thought the issue was rotation , now it's that he always plays his favourites. As for the side being announced just before the game upsetting the players, diddums . As one expro said today, you need to prepare physically & mentally as if you're starting, even if you're on the bench. If they're saying that they need to know whether they're starting earlier in the week , highlights a lack of professionalism if you ask me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I would ask Lady Skirt what's she done to increase the value of her house. She's lived in it & it's gone up and up in value, certainly much more than a lady living in Carlisle's house has. You buy a house pay a mortgage for 25 years & your house has trebled or quadrupled in value, it's pure profit for doing nothing, yet there's no capital gains tax. Labour seem happy to tax the **** out of the rich, many of whom have got rich by their skills and entrepreneurial spirit, yet God forbid taking some extra from people's houses, despite the fact that the only skill involved in increasing the value is living in it. I'm with Michael Portillo on this one. People save for a rainy day, and if they get dementia, guess what , that's the rainy day. Of course I feel sorry for people with it, my fathers just be diagnosed with early stage, but it's not the states job to look after him when he can afford to pay for his own care. Maybe I'll lose my inheritance, but what did I do to earn that inheritance? Nothing, I was just born his son. I would have thought labour would have been in favour of this as I thought they didn't particularly approve of inherited wealth. They'll take it in inheritance tax but complain when the Tories take it to pay for care, weird. Equally weird is the Tories cutting inheritance tax , but taking it to pay for care. It's pretty much the same to me, so don't quite get the political argument Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Personally I think he's played himself into a start next season. As well as Yoshidas done I'd have VvD (or replacement) & Stephens as my first choice come Aug. Whether it remains that way is down to him & the way he plays . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I had to turn off. WTF is going on? That Welsh women is so ****ing annoying, Lucas & Krankie are head & shoulders above the other 3. Don't agree with anything they say, but they're grown up competent politicians. Farron is doing himself no favours at all, why is he staring at camera, it's freaky Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Wow, weird. So you would want to see the team you support lose more matches? I presume you'd rather have lost 5-4 last night & 3-2 at Anfield. So you'll be happy losing more games next season, provided you're entertained every game ?That's not a supporter, that's a neutral . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You can't judge one season against another one, claim that winning the league is easier one year than it is another is clearly nonsense. We finished above Man Utd & got relegated, West Ham got relegated with 42 points. It doesn't mean relegation is somehow different than Sunderland going down this season. Leicester's win is no more undeserved than Utd or Arsenal's great sides, or Liverpool in the 80's They were the best team in England in a given season. Under Poch we were the 8th best team that season, in Koemans first season we we're the 7th best team in England, let's see where we are in Claude's first season. Trying to gerrymander the league to suit agenda's is pathetic. It's not ice dancing where judges sit around and award points for artistic merit. We keep score, produce a table and if you finish 10th one year & 10th the next, they're the same. You're the 10th best team in the country. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You're suggesting that giving him game time was all it took, nothing to do with coaching.

Nothing to do with the coaching staff then? Funny how it's Puel when players are shiete but any improvement is down to other things Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Had he swapped Tadic for Boufall then the boo boys would be moaning about like for like subs. It looked to me that he played Boufall as a 10 leaving Tadic & Redmond wide. This still gave us the stability of our "normal" central partnership of Davo & OR .Had we been losing he'd have probably taken Davo off & left JWP on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'm not his biggest fan but it's absolutely bonkers to criticise him last night. He gave us something different when he came on Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Anyone who who can't see that their keeper really needed to dive to save JWP's effort has never played football at any standard whatsoever......, Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I was wondering whether it was tactical or whether the medical staff advised Puel that he wouldn't last the full 90. He's not played a lot this season & was out recently. Thanks for clearing up that it was in fact a tactical decision. I won't ask you to post how you know this, because I wouldn't want you to compromise your position within the first team set up. We played well tonight particularly second half. Some of our passing under pressure in the middle third was excellent. Jack Stephens was outstanding , he looks a class act. Apart from his final ball I thought Matt Targett had a really good game after so long out. Davo was busy and OR his normal excellent self.Tadic continues to frustrate and Redmond actually looked decent in the first half , but faded when we played better in the second. Clearly the Pen Miss would have made a difference & their keeper made some decent saves. Taken in isolation that was a pretty good show. Had it been the first game of the season posters would have been praising us & would have an air of confidence about the forthcoming season. They'd probably think we could have a decent cup run and maybe finish 8th. There were downsides. The main one being the complete and utter ****wits some of our supporters are. Leaving the ground I heard people saying stuff like "Same old ****", "too negative ", "boring ", if any one thinks that about tonight , I would say they haven't got a clue. Special mention goes to the **** wits who booed JWP coming off. They're probably the same half baked that complain that Puel is to rigid & never changes, the ones that complain he doesn't go all out to win. Instead of a like for like , taking off Redmond or Tadic. He ended up with Tadic,Boufall , Redmond all on the park, yet there were boos. Unbelievable. I actually thought Boufall looked dangerous, I was willing him to score to shut the planks up. The final straw was having to listen to Dinosaur Dave calling for 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 with JRod, Austin and Gabbi "up top" and then hearing the texts read out. I drove down the M27 thinking , God we've got some idiots following the club. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I thought he was fantastic tonight. He just gets better and better, was far superior than Smalling. His touch and distribution was first class and he's even started to step into midfield and knock some nice passes about. If he plays regularly next season & continues to develop, he'll be a wanted man next season. Claude was right giving him a run in the side

****ing genius. Let's bring a bloke whose played 5 mins in the past 6 months on in the 6th minute. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I thought some of the posters on here were clueless ****wits when it comes to football, but I had the misfortune to drive tonight & listened to Solent on the way home. **** me, the people texting can't have watched the same game as me. It was not boring, we were not too slow moving the ball and we did not play negative. If one more plum texted in agreeing with dinosaur Dave and his 4-4- ****ing 2 , I was going to crash the car. Dave even suggested a front three of Austin,Gabbi & JRod. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
