  1. **** me Carrick isn't a patch on Bally at similar age. I don't misremember anything, I just remember real quality. Morgan was a good player for us, but he's nothing special. He's a French Gareth Barry if you ask me. He's always been overrated on here. Anyway the proofs in the pudding . Let's see how he does for Everton . My prediction is he'll be at West Brom,Stoke or similar sort of club within 3 years. Bit like Cabaye really, not quite top quality Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Where does that put Carrick then because Jose clearly thinks he's out of Morgan's league . He even prefers Fellani ffs Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Now watching Fellani coming on to shore up the Utd midfield. I bet Jose would rather have someone with "immaculate first touch, ability to play in the tightest of spaces and inch perfect cross field balls". Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Paul Walsh I think. Something happened with Kevin Bond if I remember correctly , though games blur into one another over the years . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. If we're talking about Hull players I quite like the look of that Maquire. Admittedly , I've only seen him 2 or 3 times but he's done ok . Looks pretty quick and carries the ball into midfield well. Still young for a centre half as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Most of them are free kicks and we have our own free kick expert !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. That Carrick must be some player then. if he was as good as biased people on here think , he wouldn't be signing for Everton Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. He's not "comfortably better" than OR. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I met someone who worked for Reed as his PA, she said he was a lovely man. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Have you heard of transfer inflation. The way football works transfers go up and up and up . Comparing fees from 3 years ago is pointless , but I guess it gives you the opportunity to moan about the club Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Jezzas relaunch today, absolutely disastrous . As one labour MP put it, "'if he had 2 brains he'd be twice as stupid" . He proposes a maximum wage and says immigration is not too high. Way to win over those floating voters Jezza Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. We've no choice than to take a punt on players like this, some work out, some don't . If we only signed " premiership ready " players we'd might as well get Tony Pulis or Fat Sam in and become West Brom. I was in Malaga the summer we signed him & ex pats were raving about him, including a saints fan from Romsey. They were ST holders so saw him every other week and rated him highly. You don't get into the Spanish squad if you can't play. It didn't work out, but that shouldn't stop us from trying to attract nippers like this. One last thought in light of what we know know about Koeman & nippers . It didn't work out, but did Koeman really give him a chance? Perhaps under Puel we may have ended up with the same result, but I can't help feeling he'd have had more chances and more time to develop. At least we'd have known he wasn't good enough after seeing him play, and not just coming on for 5 mins occasionally . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Come off it,Pepe was superb in the Euros. They both played well but to suggest Fonte was the better of the two is real red and white glasses time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I thought he looked nervous in his first return, but not after that. Some players do struggle when they first go back to their original club. It's nothing to do with bottle or going missing, and certainly nothing to do with any stick we may dish out. I hate to say it, but none of our returnees have had anywhere near the hatred and abuse the skates gave us and Twitchy in '05. It's pretty tame really. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. They may do it for local games , say Boscombe , Brighton & maybe some London games. I guess it's how much of a fuss the supporters who miss out make. There's no doubt in my mind that the Arnham game changed the way the club distributed tickets in Europe and led to the Milan nonsense. If it does become the "norm" with the larger clubs I can see some of our games going the same way Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Article in tomorrow's paper that states Manchester Utd are making supporters pick up their tickets for Leicester away on the day , and they have to show ID.Says it's common for European games but not been done for premiership matches before . I reckon it could become a regular thing within a year or 2. When one club does something the others tend to follow . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Not for the ones who are still moaning about the vote it isn't , it's rather apt. Remainiacs is my favourite . Perfectly describes Clarke, Cleggy, Blair ,Ashdown and the rest of the extremists who can see no wrong with this doomed political project . A political project they tried to wrap up in economic terms and therefore cost a generation of young people across Europe jobs and prosperity. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. This The only way we'll get a CF is if a long term target suddenly becomes available or we nip in and bag someone we want in the summer ala Austin. We had 3 guys who could play down the middle to suppliant Redmond , Tadic & Boufall. What did people want 4 in case one got injured. Do people really think a club our size should carry 4 " premiership ready" central strikers? 3 is reasonable even allowing for injuries , 2 long term injuries then maybe you need to get a loan or someone in, but not one. Do people really think Reed & co never considered one of our players may have got injured when building the squad. The mistake was probably keeping long or thinking that JRod could get his levels back, however imagine the slagging off they'd get if we'd sold one of them preseason. Clearly it's not a numbers problem, it's shiete finishers that are the problem and I can't see any better finishers being available without paying stupid money. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. No it's not. Plenty of pundits have pointed out that Conte's hit the ground running compared to Pep ,because he's got all week to work on his system and drum it into the players. There is no way Chelsea's back 3 would function like it is if they played a midweek game every week. It's not the 1970's with a couple of laps round the pitch, a five a side game , then off for the day . Modern players are drilled , drilled and drilled again . It's absolutely no coincidence that Liverpool's best season came when they didn't have European matches, are doing well now with no European matches and Leicester won the league with no European matches . Do you really think Leicester would have won the league had they been in the Europa league. It is a fact that Puel hasn't had as much time on the training pitch as other managers. It's not even debatable . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Just looked it up. Slightly different rules than Europe . Away goals only count after extra time . That's harder. Once Beer Sheva scored we needed 2 and went to pieces. Under these rules you need 1, then extra 30 mins away at Anfield. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Is that after 90 or ET? I know it sounds really stupid but I can see them pulling back any deficit at their place , even 3 or 4 as they'll play a full side with the crowd behind them. Whilst not particularly wanting to lose , what could beat them is complacency. If Klopp gets caught between seeing the tie out and resting players, we could do a Beer-Shava on them. I know it won't be popular but we need to keep it real tight at home rather than go for it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I've thought this from the day the draw was made. If we beat them 2-0 at home ( unlikely I know) , they'll come out all guns blazing and take us apart up there. Better bet is to lure them into thinking its a done deal ,their crowd won't be up for it, they may rest a few and we beat them up there. What's the away goal situation. I fancy 1-0 to them at our place and us doing them 2-1 up there . Is that pens or are we through Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. How is one of our players who has been injured for a large part of the season , being injured again, good news? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. These lefties want us riding around on penny farthings and living like Windy Miller. The lunatic green lobby are more of a threat to the British economy than Brexit ever will be. Millibands act cost the country dearly and these nutters still aren't satisfied Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. ****ing hell, you're a hard task master. 13th and you'll get the sack that's only if you get the club out of an EL group. If not sacked for 10th. Thank god you're not running the club because which managers going to take a chance blooding nippers if a 13th place finish gets him the boot? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
