  1. I bet the labour candidate in mid staffs is unhappy with The Mirror asking people to think of the people killed by political decisions when casting your vote
  2. According to FT the Media Standards Trust have looked at the papers election coverage to see which has been the most partisan paper during this election . So, which one was it. The Sun? Nope Must be The Fail ? Nope. Step forward The Daily Mirror.
  3. I did and I wouldn't want him back in our side . He's not good enough for the 2015/16 season , what he did prior to that is irrelevant .
  4. Who will call the vote of confidence ? Why on earth would the Tories do that until year 3 or 4 . They would let a lame duck government limp on with snp support , there's no way labour could get reelected if that went on for 3 or 4 years . They'd fight the next election on " we told you so' . What you appear to be suggestion is that there would be chaos and a shambles and the Tories would then call for a vote of confidence . No chance , what's the other option? Labour calls for a vote of confidence in itself , all the Tories need to do is abstain quoting the fixed term parliament act and saying they believe in it completely . Or say they don't feel the country is ready for the uncertainty of another election .
  5. Surely you can see the difference between " quitting politics " and giving up the leadership ? He'll still be an MEP, and may contest another election . Salmond quit as leader Fuksake has he quit politics?
  6. How on earth are the Tories going to get a majority of 1 if there's labour minority government ? The fact that there's a labour minority government means that the Tories / lib dumbs will be well short of any majority . Who is going to vote down a labour government ? The snp ? Well that's one way to lose all their gains , and screw up their chances in the '16 jock elections . 1 Green mp, 3 or 4 taffys ? Gerry Adams mob. The dup maybe and ukip , but that won't be enough. That's even if you get a confidence vote . Who do you think is going to call a confidence vote to put a lame duck government out of its misery?
  7. He said he'd quit as leader of the party .
  8. But my point still stands , Why on earth would the government of the day support a no confidence vote in itself ? And why would the opposition even call for a no confidence vote if their opponents were leading a shambles .Previously the government could just call an election , now that option is lost to them . They have to rely on the opposition , who will be acting in the best way possible for themselves and the worst way for the government .
  9. Why are people saying x minority , " followed by another election" . Have they not heard of the fixed term parliament act . In order to ensure their grubby coalition would last the establishment brought this in . Basically you'll need labour & Tories to vote together to end the parliament ( you need a 2/3 majority ) . The very nature of politics means there will never be a situation when it'll be in both parties interests to dissolve parliament . If one party wanted to dissolve it, you can bet your bottom dollar the other wouldn't . If labour wanted a quick election to seek a mandate without the SNP, the Tories will oppose it , and if the Tories wanted to bring down labour , they'd oppose it , and obviously visa versa. The coalition have fundamentally changed parliament with his . Previously if you lost the confidence of parliament , it was dissolved . Now , due to the fixed term act it isn't . If labour were limping along , unable to legislate without the SNP, unable to control the timetable , why on earth would the Tories give them the get out of another election . Let them limp on for 3/4 years , presiding over a shambles , they'd then be a shoe in after that ( the same applies in reverse)
  10. Complete and utter pony . Can't you just bring yourself to say its wrong . Fair play to VFTT , but apart from that the defence of this on here is pathetic .
  11. Even if we don't get another point we've exceeded expectations and had a great season . How many times in the past 30 years have we finished top 8. To do so after the summer " meltdown" is a fantastic achievement
  12. I don't know who it is, I've only seen her eyes.
  13. I agree. Nothing wrong with it , I'm attending a stoning next week myself.
  14. Working today, no leftie day bank holiday for me. Are you disappointed that nobody connected with the labour party seems willing to condemn this. Particularly Harriet, perhaps she's so busy in her pink empowering women bus, that she didn't know what her old man was up to.
  15. I'd be interested in the women and lefties on this forums take on this. I'm sure if it was Nigels golf club they'd have an issue. Perhaps when they get back from their May Day marches they'll comment on it.
  16. Harriet Harpersons old man was one of the speakers, you know him, the bloke that got added to an all women shortlist to win his safe seat. I'm glad these things are now considered " progressive" , perhaps if labour get in my local could adopt this policy. The blokes can sit at and around the bar and the Wags somewhere in the corner.
  17. There is absolutely no chance of Turkey becoming a member whilst there is free movement of people , and as that's a cornerstone of the EUSSR youve more chance of Elvis serving you fish & chips than them joining.
  18. You do realise that UKIP support immigration , they just want every nationality treated equally . Who does someone who wants to leave the EU, supports Grammar Schools and wants control of our borders decided by west minister , vote for . Labour? I don't think so , however appealing their " all male" section is .
  19. Is it a " cast iron guarantee " ? If so, I think we've been there before . It's a con . To get meaningful changes to the eu the change people seem to want , will require treaty change . There is already a law guaranting a referendum in the even of treaty change . Thus proving Cameron is just showboating and will only tinker around the edges , but try and pull the wool over the publics eyes .
  20. I'm sure I've been through this before , but as you seem incapable of taking it in I'll try once more. I worked for a big multi national company that had very strict rules around recruitment . These rules were based on employment law. One of these rules was that I , as a manager, had to give any jobs to the best candidates regardless of race, colour , age or sexual persuasion . Had I given these jobs to White British people who were not as qualified as the Poles I took on, I would be sacked and would be breaking the law. They were extremely hard working and pleasant people , a credit to their country and fully justified my choices . There were also HR people present during assessments and interviews ensuring complete and utter compliance with any legislation . However, the simple fact is that some British people didn't get those jobs. Doing what is legally required whilst disagreeing with the law , is in no way " changing my mind" or being two faced . I may think speed limits are too low and want them increased to 100mph on the motorway , does driving around at 70 mean I can't voice that opinion ?
  21. I'm thinking of switching to labour, at least I can sit with the lads when I attend meetings. Who wants silly little women sat next to you nagging whilst you're listening to Harriets hubby going on about empowering women.
  22. No , cause that'll mean he may get to play next week .
  23. Lol at labour moaning at QT audience , when Nigel complained all the lefties said it was sour grapes. At least nige had the balls to have a go there and then, not come over all " what's your name " and then start crying afterwards.
