Talking of away support, one of the Few posted this on another site as an example of the "great support". About 6 of them singing, a few smurfs, a strangled trumpet sound, a bell, and a drummer out of tune. How the **** can you play a drum so badly, is beyond me.

It's clearly not the same for youngsters as it was 30 years ago. I have 3 boys ranging from 14 to 24, between that age I knew all the winners,knew all the heroes, the dickie guys, Ronnie radfords, could name the finalists since I was about 6. There's no way I would miss a cup final on tv. My lads are mad keen on football, but the cup is must,meh, to them. It's only going to get worse because us fossils will be gone and they won't pass what they don't really give a shiny ****e about, on to their kids. 30 years ago going out in the 3rd round would have ruined the week for me, id have been gutted. Then every single player playing the game is a cheat. Why aren't pundits and the like calling Ryan Giggs a cheat when he appeals for a throw in he knows is the other way. What about Gazza's bootlaces suddenly needing tieing up when we're leading in the last 10 mins, is he a cheat.

I remember about 30 years ago stood on the dell terraces and there was some really fit bird stood in front of us, my mate said "if we score I'm having a grope " sure enough we knock one in and he touches her up during celebration. You could see she wasn't sure if it was an accident , but moved second half. Couldn't happen nowadays of course, another reason to bemoan all seated stadiums.

I thought it was a strange atmosphere yesterday. I sat in my normal seat and there were hardly any regulars arond me, my drinking partners, who sit in various areas said the same after the game. Sat near me there were clearly tourist type fans, who weren't as passionate. I can't remember being so meh about a competitive game, even when we were winning i couldn't really get into it. I stopped going to friendlies because of the same feeling and I'll defo think twice about cup games, unless it's the skates. It's sad really because i used to love the cup, but it's a big "so what" now. As for the Chelsea fans, the bounce thing was great, but other than that weren't any different than any big sides away cup support.

Littlejohn summised that maybe plod, having ****rd up over Saville are putting on a show. Also said something suspicious is going on here,something that was alluded to earlier in this thread. He did say that time should be no bar to charges, but how can you prove beyond reasonable doubt in a he said she said sex case from 40 years ago. The article got me thinking, next time a toe rag breaks into my shed, instead of just taking a crime number, I'm going to tell them it was damaged 40 years ago by cher who after giving me a blow job against my will rode off on my bike. It really all depends how the nutter works out. It makes no sense to me to have gazza and butland,but gazza ain't ready.personally I'd loan gazza out this season and maybe next to a champ side, and fill the gap with an old pro on a 2 year deal. Clearly not skd, but maybe the nutter will come good. Would only get butland if it's a steal and we screw brum over.

I don't know why people get their knickers in a twist over playing "my clubs bigger than your club". As for attracting players 99% of the time it'll be down to the agent to push the player to accept the "best" deal. There's absolutely no doubt which of the two clubs agents will be recommending, throw into the mix Mr Redknapp, who like it or not players want to play for, a west London location to keep the mrs happy, and its probably true they'll be more attractive than us to the vast majority of players.

They seem two decent young men. Can you really blame either for leaving, because I can't given where we were and what was on offer. Thought it was great to clap them but singing was cringeworthy ( as was singing French jimmy savillie-pathetic)

Davis was fantastic worked his socks off and played some neat stuff. The whole back 4 did well, although we missed clynes overlaps. Really pleased for Nigel as there were a few near me moaning about his substitutions but I think be got them spot on. Legs up top and strengthened the middle of the park. Arsenal were on a roll and had knocked a few in lately, so would have taken a point at start. Keepers obviously still an issue, but I'd stick with the nutter.

Neville southall was a pretty decent keeper but nobody could ever accuse him of being a finely tuned athlete. Get the pole in nets or get a loan in during the window, there's plenty of keepers sitting on premiership benches better than Kelvin or Gaza

Forest away without Rickie was a good one. Millwall, and Watford were personal favourites as a good drink up and 3 points both times. However my fav moment was leaving London road and receiving a text saying that west ham had messed up at Bristol City, that was the moment for me. We could lose at Middlesbrough and would still go up. 2012 will always be a special year football wise for me, maybe even the best. Other years brought more sucsess but it was unexpected and my nipper came to most away games with me. He could only remember us from burley onwards, so watching him loving every minute of it will live with me forever
