  1. I don't pay any license, but I watch Match of the Day, Football league show here in Norway, can't you just get a dish and watch highlights?
  2. Hello, I'm a **** who starts threads here for the attention of another forum, calling the people who read it here instead "faithful" and not really getting why it makes me look like a tit. You feeble minded loser.
  3. New York New York, so good you named it twice?
  4. That's not quite the way I remember her, but I may have been a little drunk at the time. :smt104
  5. Can't believe Eruption hasn't had a mention yet. That must've been one of the dodgiest places in town back in the day, but at least you were guaranteed a memorable night out. It still holds the record for being the only place where I actually saw somebody do that thing of smashing a beer bottle and waving the sharp end in someones face outside of films. I also remember a gang of Romsey "lads" getting a battering while the doormen just looked on grinning. Does anyone else remember Mel from behind the bar? Must have been late mid eighties. Oh and if you ever went there you have probably spent the years since trying to forget what the toilets were like. Legendary place.
  6. No, it's pretty girly. From what I saw it's just another relationship drama dressed up. This time it's in the guise of vampire romance/erotica, which just happens to be in vogue with teenage girls following the Twilight books and film. It's somewhere between Buffy and Dawson's Creek. It pretends to be about the horror, but really it's just about the soap opera.
  7. I have 20-30 Tories in my bedroom! There's something of a swarm of them outside and they have climbed in through the window. Does anyone know of any good ways of coaxing them back out?
  8. Fire, fire will kill them all. Pour petrol on them, throw on a match and watch them burn.
  9. Are we able to accomodate their little Cox?
  10. Buying anything fair trade is just more nanny-state, handwringing, treehugging, wishy washy, liberal lefty, politically correct nonsense. But that's new labour for you I suppose.
  11. I've taught both private and state. The teachers aren't any better, they are pretty much the same, but the facilities and class sizes are usually better. However the crucial difference in my experience is the parental involvement. Parents who pay tend to make damn sure their children are doing their homework and they follow up a lot of classwork at home in various ways. All parents should do this, but many either don't have time, or can be a bit lazy, letting kids play video games and watching TV, or giving them unmonitored internet access.
  12. Is your dad a bit of a nazi then, Ponty?
  13. Nice English in that first paragraph.
  14. How good do you have to be in your given field before you're allowed to do that sort of thing? I mean, Elvis Presley did it and he seems to have been pretty much forgiven, maybe because he married her when she was old enough, but he was still a paedophile in the strictest sense (and it was legally rape). Polanski hasn't been publicly hated despite having confessed to it and has even won oscars afterwards. Gary Glitter was way short of the required rate of success though. Can we draw up a list of people famous enough to do it, just so we can straighten out the criteria. For example would we allow Bob Geldof a 'bye'. What about Kevin Keegan?
  15. You'd be surprised at how PR can change everything. We have it here and there are a lot more parties with an interest and there's a lot more back and forth. Governments are almost always coalitions here as so many parties have a reasonable proportion of the vote, so it basically comes down to a right wing or left wing coalition. However, the smaller parties then wield a surprising amount of power as, for example, the conservative equivelant a few years ago needed help to get a large enough majority to hold power. They jpoined up with the "Christian" party, who said they wouldn't help unless there candidate was made prime minister. So for years we had a prime minister from the smaller christian party. People here are amazed when I tell them that so many people in Britain end up completely without representation in parliament.
  16. Anybody who has signed this without reading the actual proposal first is an idiot. The OP should have put a link to it here, if they want to be taken seriously.
  17. More here
  18. We got ours reduced significantly recently after threatening to change to someone else currently offering a better rate. I forget the numbers, but it seems you can change it later if you try hard enough.
  19. Yeah, he's right, in defence of the EDL, some of them might be corrupt officials.
  20. Tommy Widdrington
  21. More poorly informed panic-mongering then.
  22. Although flippant, this is the kind of comment that shows where so many people's misunderstandings and problems lie and why so many people don't really know what the "PC" the sneer at actually means. There is no problem with pointing out colour differences, race differences, gender differences. There is no problem with discriminating either. For example if I was making a film about Winston Churchill, I would discriminate a black actor or woman as they did not meet the criteria for that role. I iscriminate all day over who I find attractive, based on many different physical features. This is normal and correct. What PC means is simply that you shouldn't discriminate blindly based on prejudice. For example I can't decide not to hire somebody for an IT job based on the same race or gender issues, as these are not the relevant criteria. Many people over the years have been pulled up for this practice, which used to be common and failed to understand it completely and then called everything they disagreed with "PC". Also some idiots in positions of administration didn't grasp this either and made petty rules that had nothing to do with PC, resulting in "They've banned Christmas, it's PC gone mad" type nonsense. It's not rocket science, it's just not being ignorant.
  23. I'm not interested in finding out more than the Daily Mail/red tops tell me. I think I should be better off and want to blame someone for my petty problems and tiny hardships. I want lowest common denominator slogans and policies. **** thinking, logic and reason, BNP/NF are the way forward.
  24. Where's this story from? I haven't read about this anywhere else. This is outrageous that so much time, effort and money is being spent on a grasshopper! Especially as the main reason seems to be to seem caring in the media. I think we need to start a defence league to complain about the disproportionate amount of resources going towards insects under this so called "government".
  25. I'm sick of all the loony lefty, pc brigade, tree hugging do-gooders on this thread. More suppression of civil rights is the way forward. Take away the right to demonstrate or protest for a start. If any group with a different viewpoint begin to gather in a public place, send in the army FFS. If I wanted to live in a state where fundamentalist religious groups had a dangerous political influence, I'd move to the USA.
