"think of the media reaction" That's not particularly altruistic.

He never did go through with it. Not true

I work in a Norwegian school, I sometimes chat with other English teachers in English. It's a more effective way of communicating for us in many situations. Nobody else in hearing distance needs to be/should be interested. If you moved to another country (and it could happen, I never thought I would) and you found that the guy sat at the next desk to you was English too and you became mates, do you really think for a second that you'd spend all day chatting to each other in French, Japanese, Spanish or whatever? I understand your point, but it's not very realistic.

and that women cabn only sing ballards too, and she can't move and sing properly at the same time. And that other bloke isn't a very good singer, but can dance at the same time. And that other bloke is horribly nasal, yet they never mention it. This is why I never watch that programme.

It was a staggeringly stupid comment. If one parent decides somebody who speeds in a residential area deserves to die for endangering their kids, that's justice is it? People disagree on just about everything. Who's going to decide the correct level of punishment? Would you like some dim, reactionary idiot to decide suitable punishments for any misdemeanours you've committed? What you're preaching is a step towards anarchy and mob rule. Think it through.

Why is sarcasm, or more often, satire, treated as a bigger crime than just posting insults or casual racism on this board. I'm not too fussed about either, but I see enough insulting language on, for example, the climate change thread, that if those involved were being infracted, they would've had a ban by now. Yet people who have posted reasonably clever satirical comments get banned really quickly. Do certain mods (b*j?) especially fear people who can outwit them? I am so far infraction-free, so have no personal axe to grind on this, but I've noticed that the mods are more heavy handed with what I would call smart-arses than they are with the genuine nasty-bastards.

I used to teach one of their defenders, Manny Smith, back when he was 8, including football lessons. So he can't be that good, I'm rubbish. He used to play alongside Ben Turner who's now at Coventry and was also in my class. Come to think of it I must be the best defensive coach ever. Or something.

I have to say that with it's lunatic AIDS rate (caused by the StGeorge "it's a global conspiracy" approach to AIDS research) and the mental crime levels, South Africa is the country you could never pay me enough to tempt me to visit.

Some people "write" whole books that are basically just lists of Saints results, imagine how irritating those people might be, FF.

This was about the only thread I've enjoyed opening on the main board in the last couple of days, I like seeing that list. Sadly posts like the ones Fitzhugh Fella have made above drag the whole thing back down and make it as annoying as most of the other ones here. Of course it was a harmless thread and some of us enjoyed seeing it. Let it go.

Has he only got one eyebrow?

Can you go 2 hours without food or drink?
norwaysaint replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
You spend an hour shopping for food in Tesco's? Are you Sturomseysaint using another log in? -
I can't think of a place that I'd like to live in less than Dubai. Luckily I live in a country with natural beauty that was also one of those that suffered least from the economic crash and will fully recover first. I haven't seen or heard anything of Dubai yet that doesn't seem vile, but then, I haven't been there.

I remember them being interviewed in the NME in the early nineties and comparing themselves to Saints (at that time) something about being a great attacking side that were always entertaining, but didn't get the media attention they deserved.

It's 'cos of the immigrants though.

Does your nose run? You may have them on the wrong way?

Adam and Joe are head and shoulders above everything else. Fighting talk is just unbearable nowadays. It has just got worse since Colin Murray took over from Christian O'Connell. The News Quiz is pretty good. I've tried As it Occurs to me, but it's just not got enough quality, a bit like Collings and Herrin. Richard Herring is just spreading himself too thin, and I feel like I'm just hearing the same stuff from him again and again.

The Boat that Rocked Fun and lightweight film with a cast that makes you keep saying "Ooooh look it's that bloke from Spaced/The IT Crowd/Flight of the Concords... etc" The music was pretty good and it told the story of pirate radio well, while making it pretty clear it was making most of it up. 7/10 Juno I loved this film. It was sharp, funny, beautifully understated and well acted. It also had a lovely soundtrack. 9/10 Over the Hedge I borrowed this thinking I'd show it to my kids. I had a quick preview first and thought it was so poor that I didn't bother showing it to them. It was one of those typical films that's meant to be for kids but is trying way too hard to be clever. It was far too fast talking and contained far too many adult world references for kids to enjoy properly. I hate this type of film. It's not funny enough for grown-ups and too smart-arsey for kids, at least younger ones. Pointless. 3/10

This is by far my favourite post on this thread. It is superb. This post has nearly everything.

This. Sagga is our only international striker and must be straining at the leash by now. Lambert isn't even trying now he's got a contract.

I think you'll find Heartlepool is a beautiful, picturesque and historic town, certainly far more beautiful than Southampton and with a far prouder history. Try living in the real world, idiot. 4-2 to the 'pool

This is a very in-joke as Kadeem is Robsk. As am I. And you come to think of it.

So taking the **** on serious threads and having multiple log-ins doesn't earn infraction points and bans then? Great, open season then.

Dubai World Championship Golf behind the Scenes
norwaysaint replied to dubai_phil's topic in General Sports
Ponty's right. I drive a car (I'm only an amatuer, but take part keenly) and it keeps me in great shape. Anyone who says driving isn't a sport clearly hasn't ever been out on a road. Believe me there are thousand of amatuer drivers out there taking part in driving and some of these guys are in the gym every day and in great shape. Some of the people I've met who drive could also play football or cycle to a very high level. Only an idiot would suggest that driving isn't a sport and they should get out there and have a go for themselves sometime. -
