  1. No he didn't, he said old field players. I don't know how you qualify for that.
  2. Does nobody remember this with it's brilliant theme tune?
  3. This just goes to show the sort of scum who think not observing a voluntary silence should be punished. Prison scum.
  4. That's ****ing disgraceful, why did that get infracted? Which one of the (jealous) mods infracted a fan just for going to every game in the cup run (and being able to prove it)? I can't imagine that happening back on saintsforever.
  5. That was the season I started going and I went to most matches that year including all cup matches home and away. I think my uncle was glad to have somebody to take to games as he didn't have any sons of his own. I suppose I was quite lucky my first year as a proper supporter. A couple of years later my uncle started supporting Leeds and destroyed all of his Saints gear including his old tickets.
  6. Depends what it is. Anything hermetically sealed or dry isn't going to do too much harm, but I often chuck out dairy products because I've had to many bad experiences with gulping down a load of milk, then getting that great taste of rotten dairy as the coldness fades and the flavour comes through. I've got a poor sense of smell, so I just go by the date on those. Eggs seem to last weeks after the given date though, especially here, where we don't have salmonella.
  7. I think the minute's silence should be, and I'm pretty sure it is, voluntary. So to talk about punishing people who exercise their right (no matter how idiotic) not to join in is just stupid. It's a shame that these people possibly don't understand what the silence is actually for (thinking it's about British soldiers from British wars rather than all victims of all conflicts), it's possible they're just stupid. Neither is a punishable offence and neither should be. Punishing a group like that will just create a greater and more aggressive divide. Teaching them it's a time to think about people who fought and died for their beliefs too might have an effect.
  8. Don't be a tit, Pancak, if you've read the post, you know I referred to Christians that I've tried to discuss it with. It was even the other half of the sentence you highlighted.
  9. I don't think that's what it is. If somebody told me the world was flat and that's just what they've chosen to believe, I wouldn't be able to just leave it at that. I'd need to try to find out why on Earth they thought that. Then I'd point out why that seemed wrong to me. Whenever I've been in that situation with Christians, they start to get very uncomfortable and agitated and say things like "Why can't you just let me believe?" I can't think of many other situations where people say they have a strong opinion about something are then too afraid to discuss it in depth. Also I find it odd that the same people often scorn other superstitious beliefs like tarot, horoscopes and ghosts, even though there's no more actual evidence for one than the other. Similarly Christians also seem to consider it ridiculous and primitive that some people worship lots of gods, yet again those religions are based on just as much solid evidence as Christianity.
  10. LOL! Surely this thread needs to go golden! I haven't laughed out loud so much in ages. Classic post after classic post! Well done to all those involved. There are some very clever and funny people on this forum. Baj, can we make this a sticky and eventually move it to Golden?
  11. I still call ours The Friends Provident stadium. It just kind of stuck.
  12. He retired a couple of years ago. Keep up FFS.
  13. I think it would probably be illegal to sell British sausages here due to their low meat content. I do miss the extra flavour all that crap gives them though. The sausages here are pretty bland.
  14. Yeah, those bloody leftie yanks.
  15. I am fiercely patriotic and the English language is the greatest success of the British people. The way in which we have lastingly conquered the world is through language and we should be proud of it. It's strange then that so many "proud to be British" posters who come to this forum haven't bothered to learn it properly.
  16. So, in summary, this place is rubbish because there are no proper disagreements now as whoever doesn't agree gets banned, which is ruining the place. The mods should stop banning people who disagree. Also Nineteen Canteen causes disagreements and should be banned because he doesn't agree with everyone else and this is too inflammatory. The mods should ban people who disagree.
  17. I miss Dubai Phil......he lived in Dubai and knew something or other that some other people didn't know about somebody or other.....he drank beers and tried to impress us....now I only have Fitzhugh Fella......he's met lots of people at the club......but now he's happy because the Pompey takeover completed.......I do miss Kippy.
  18. Are you serious? I'd be amazed if even the dimmest posters on here took it that way. That's pretty pathetic.
  19. Yeah, all their voters know just what the BNP are. It's not like anybody on another thread who voted BNP made a comment along the lines of "It's not like I'm voting for the National Front". Errr...
  20. But they were violent criminals. Why should they be treated softly? That's almost too dim to bother replying to. Do you really think that only people in the area should be allowed to have an opinion? As you don't actually live in Southampton, perhaps you shouldn't be allowed to support Southampton. Perhaps the news in Britain should contain no current affairs from other parts of the world. Perhaps there should be no British soldiers in Afghanistan or Iraq. Should people in Britain have an opinion about USA? Iran? North Korea? Like many people on this forum I now live in another place outside Southampton, should none of them post here? You're a feeble minded, little man and I'm sure common sense is wasted on you. Perhaps you can take your own opinions to heart and no longer comment on anything outside of your grotty little house, or to anyone outside of your grotty little house.
  21. I'm sick of all this namby pamby, handwringing, soft-on-crime nonsense from the likes of SRS. Why do weak people like Stupidromseysaint want to protect the poor, delicate, little flowers. If you're going to commit the crime, be man enough to stand up and take the consequences instead of hiding away.
  22. No he's right, the USA has almost no violent crime and innocent people never get shot. St George is a genius, USA is heaven on Earth, that's why it's recognised by the UN as the best country in the world to live in. Oh no, wait a minute...
  23. bojbojbojbojbojbojbojbojbojbojbojbojboj I vote for Johnny Marr bojbojbojbojbojbojbojbojbojbojbojbojboj
  24. I think only channel 4 is encrypted and even then you just need an expired sky card, nothing else I get is encrypted. My dish is only 80cm, but I'm looking at getting bigger as I lose some BBC channels in very bad weather. I know loads of people with the same.
  25. You only need a subscription if you want pay channels like Sky Sports or movies. I get loads of free channels, all BBC, ITV, Channel 4, plus quite a lot more. You just need an old sky box and an old sky card for the channel 4 ones (easy to pick up). I've never paid for anything other than the 40 quid for the box and I've never needed to connect it to a phone line.
