I would expect to see various dog whistles from Trump encouraging disorder tomorrow. Anything that plays into the narrative that the election was not properly conducted will be welcomed regardless of the wider impact.

People still banging on about "herd immunity". Won't happen. This is a rapidly evolving coronavirus. There will be as much herd immunity as there is for the common cold. Even when there are vaccines it will probably be the case that the vaccine needs to evolve and be taken annually or similar.

Since the start of this back in Feb / March, anyone credible has been pretty clear that the key to managing it is to have an effective test, trace and isolate system and to act fast. We haven't even managed to get one of the three things mentioned above in place properly. Lock-downs, early pub closures, "rules of six" etc. are just incremental mitigants. They all help a bit, and a full lock down is obviously temporarily effective, but they aren't enough if you don't know where the virus is and don't take and enforce steps to isolate it, and they are not sustainable. The idea that "the science" has been ambiguous or fickle is pony. We were unprepared and we have been unable to get our act together.

Down to the bare bones innit!

I noticed something on iPlayer about a couple of guys who somehow infiltrate their way into N. Korea regime. Haven't seen it yet but looks interesting. It's called, "The Mole: Infiltrating North Korea".

Saints only Premier League club not to sign up to FA diversity code
benjii replied to saintwbu's topic in The Saints
Homegrown isn't based on race at all and it's nothing to do with "diversity". Apart from that, great point. -
I thought the red was harsh but he should have had two yellows for that passage of play.

I've done my ratings. Under here. McCarthy 6 - didn't have anything to do but delivered a very effective fisting. KWP 8 - Iwobi was arse dangleberries but he still played well. Bednarek 8 - very solid Vestergaard 8 - really stepped up lately and very solid again. Bertrand 8 - you feel like he's playing within himself a bit sometimes but always in control. JWP 9 - my MoM. Tenacious, good passing, great finish. Romeu 9 - bossed it with JWP. Armstrong 8 - adds a lot to the team with his pace and movement. Redmond 5 - a load of toss. Gave it away constantly. Fluffed chances. The MoM on the TV must have been a bet / wind-up. Adams 9 - he's a yard off the pace in his movement sometimes but he is getting better and better on the ball. Some great first touches and strength. And a goal! Ings 7 - he made quite a few errors but two nice assists, particularly the second one, which was proper class.
-
Redmond seems to want to break the record for giving the ball away the most times in a match. And there he goes fluffing a good chance.

Tool does not rhyme with ball.

They should have just made it open to anyone who likes rugby league and hitting their wife.

The New York Mob data breach?

Grealish is ok but he's no better than the likes of Lallana ever were at their peak. Not sure I understand the clamour to build the team around him, but maybe it's just because everyone else is shite?

This.

True but most people don't want to own 80% of a private company. The only reason she still has her 20% is because Gao couldn't raise the money for it.
-
Greedy, soulless scum-bags. If you want to give some money just give the fucking money. This can’t be allowed to happen. If it does the FA will have failed, the government will have failed, the Premier League will have failed and football will have been failed. Abolishing the League Cup is a smack in the face to fans. “Big six” is an attempt to form a cartel. Go fuck yourselves. If Saints support this that applies to SFC too.

Sounds even worse than Gao, which is bad. Piss offa Da Grossa.

Hijack Danny Fox's move to East Bengal?

I'm not massively excited, in the sense that he isn't going to be the next Mane or Van Dijk but it's a sensible enough signing. Gives us an extra dimension upfront (do you want him or Long coming on if we need a goal?) and some extra cover in midfield. As has been noted, if it works out he should be a relatively cheap signing in the summer, assuming he will take a sensible wage. We've getting a better balance to the squad now. If Salisu turns out good then we'll have depth in most positions.

Agreed. They offer very different interesting possibilities. Redmond is tidy and dependable, looks after the ball and scores the occasional good goal whereas Djenepo is unpredictable and has the audacity/belief to try things. It's good to have both options.
-
That has to be one of our most comfortable wins for years. No one was brilliant but everyone was at 7/10. Very solid team performance against inferior opposition. Good professional display. Our set piece defending looked shite though and it was a big win because I doubt we'll get anything from the next two matches.

Looks like a good all-rounder. Likes to track and get stuck in but positive on the ball and not just taking the easy option. As we all know, though, these videos should generally be taken with a pinch of salt.
