  1. WGS leaving was not a bad thing in itself (it was made a bad thing by the complete shambles that Lowe followed it with) - I don't think WGS could have taken us further and it was time for someone to pick up the mantle. That said, we now have a huge potential again and he seems as good as anyone when it comes to appointing someone to help fulfil it. My only concern is that things are never quite the same the second time...
  2. I know someone with a lob-on.
  3. I quite hope WGS doesn't come back actually. I doubt he would be as good as last time. Mind you, he may well prove me wrong. I agree about Liebherr - looks like he means business!
  4. Imagine Lowe paying for a ticket. Not likely.
  5. I hope they don't go out of business as I don't want people from round there turning up at St Mary's on match days.
  6. Interestingly, Graeme Murty, on Radio 5 last night, seemed impressed with our fitness levels.

    PLC

No, he didn't buy SLH PLC. SLH currently exists as a company, however it has no assets, no liabilities and no purpose. It will shortly be wound up. The PLC is finished.
  8. Markus, like a German vegetarian.... I was fearing the wurst. However, thank you for reigniting my excitement in this football team. May we all enjoy its success over the coming years.
  9. Maybe I will.... thanks (although it would be a clear infringement of intellectual property rights so I won't)!
  10. There it is again! Haha.
  11. with this on it!
  12. He was on Radio 5 between 9 and 10. Seemed like a decent bloke. Grateful we've given him a chance to train. He's impressed with how fit we are!! Says he has a point to prove. Could be a great signing IMO.
  13. You should attend hearings. Even if you can't afford representation. If you don't, the judge will assume you are a pikey scumbag. No offence meant, and I'm sure you're not - doesn't sound as though you are from your story. I'm putting it in those terms so you can see what it might look like to a room of people who don't know you and only hear one side of the story. As you've found out; if you don't turn up the other side are also more likely to obtain whatever costs order they ask for.
  14. ROARS OF LAUGHTER! What a bunch of wags.
  15. The "Soton FC" could be changed to "Markus Liebherr" actually: "Markus Liebherr gonna set my soul gonna set my soul on fire Got a whole lot of money that's ready to burn to take the Saints up higher Liebherr, Las Vegas!" There you go - that's quality. Not insulting, safe for all the family and I didn't mention the war.
  16. Original, I like it.
  17. Actually, no I don't. That's ****ing mint.
  18. "Ohhhh, Markus Liebherr He used to be a German but he's alright now." Only joking, I like Germans. "Liebherr" sounds a bit like "Viva" - maybe something to the tune of Viva Las Vegas.... "So'ton FC gonna set my soul gonna set my soul on fire Got a whole lot of money that's ready to burn to take the Saints up higher Liebherr, Las Vegas!" etc I apologise.
  19. Exactly. He is a "hole" player, but unlike MLT, Gazza, Rooney etc. he can't kick the ball very well and so is unlikely to ever score.
  20. Haha - that is how such an overwhelming amount of guff gets posted on here. A tells B. B tells C and D. D tells A. A feels more confident and tells C. C likewise, who has in the meantime told F, G and H. H has also heard it from B and posts something on here. D, C, A, F and G corroborate it on here. The Echo runs with it.
  21. Trant? Construction link? EDIT: He wasn't on PLC board actually? Was he? Dunno. Oh, I see, you've said Oldknow.
  22. Well up for it but some plonker has organised a sodding stag weekend for then. Will have to make do with Ajax for now.
  23. He's ****e anyway and, like Surman, is a Champ player at best. If we can get over £1m for him I'd be delighted. Someone should give Mick McCarthy a ring as he seems determined to buy loads of lower league players.
  24. What the devil are you talking about? He played his entire career in the top division. Apart from one good season at Blackburn, Shearer won sod-all in domestic football. I can only assume you are referring to international football? Hardly MLT's fault if he wasn't picked; I think most people would agree he was good enough to have earnt more than 8 caps.
