  1. That's a rhetorical question, right? As for the £5 million war chest figure, I'm not sure where that came from. Unless Stevie boy told the bald eagle to start spreading that rumour in order to give a subliminal message to the Russians.
  2. As any veteran of this thread will know, they'll flick the v's and ignore the rules. And the FL will do sod all about it.
  3. And our promotion.
  4. "For now all our efforts and energy are on the team and the club but once we are satisfied all is moving in the right direction we will certainly communicate again concerning sitting down with the conference." I wonder if "sitting down with the conference" is pigeon English for "being demoted down to the Football Conference?"
  5. If true, the odds of that happening are 1 in 16384. Might as well enjoy it while we can: unlikely to happen again in our lifetimes!
  6. Ditto on Canucks. Shame about the result yesterday.
  7. Sadly for Stevie boy, it looks like Brum may have binned his CV. He's putting on a brave face about it though. http://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=soccer/11/06/15/manual_121211.html&TEAMHD=soccer&BID=165
  8. Fit. Very fit.
  9. I don't doubt that they would love to. But, unless the Cheats are relegated by Christmas, I doubt they will have the luxury to be able to throw points away, since they will very likely be scrapping for points (in a vain) attempt to stay out of the bottom three.
  10. Vladimir Aintgotapenny's reaction as the reality sinks in ......
  11. "I think Pompey should appear to be a more exciting prospect than Birmingham at this moment in time. We have just been taken over by a company who seem to be in it for the long haul and want success, and essentially we are starting from scrap, which gives any manager the opportunity to create a name for themselves by creating success and a legacy (so to speak) which will be (largely) down to them. Except he spelt "crap" wrong.
  12. Well the good news for the few (which now describes both fans and players) is that, with the recent abolition of mandatory retirement at 65, Kanu can safely stay on until the end of his contract.
  13. I predict that this will be the last time the Cheats will be above us for a very long time.
  14. Couldn't have happened to a nicer bloke.
  15. Chinny stitches up gullible new owners. Who'd have thunk it?
  16. Someone cynical would say that all this transfer talk is a just a ploy to sell some season tickets to the gullible few, before the shit hits the fan.
  17. Funny you should mention that, Vladimir Antonov is the anagram of Invalid V.A.T. moron. Some hidden meaning, maybe?
  18. On paper, a disaster for the DFCSBs, since they could only spend what they earn. But unfortunately it won't affect Cheats FC. If history has taught us anything, they'll just fudge their books to make it look like they are spending what they earn. Or maybe they won't even bother doing that, and just flick the v's at the league. And the FL won't do a thing about it.
  19. "Last year he was given peanuts and he delivered." Amazing, they outbid the likes of billionaire-owned QPR for players by offering peanuts. "Magnificent" doesn't even begin to describe that achievement.
  20. Well, I was predicting that Chinny would pull the plug if his gamble to go up to the Sky Money League failed, but I must admit I didn't expect him to do it this way. It gives a whole new meaning to "liquidators". And, as an icing on the cake, it actually has raised the few's hopes again before the horror is going to set in. After the shit hits the fan I think they're going to wish they had a dead owner, or another non-existent owner.
  21. Oh, how I used to laugh at Scottish goalkeepers. Not any more.
  22. Put in £40 million or so of filthy money, along with loans which they have no intention of paying back, thereby allowing them to outbid honest clubs for the best championship level players and get promoted, then receive £40 million of clean Sky money, and finally sell quickly to some sucker before the inevitable relegation/administration? An appealing plan for immoral dim-witted owners. Any resemblance to money-laundering mafia or cesspits of clubs is purely coincidental.
  23. CSI and Cheats FC: the perfect match.
