  1. Neal Bishop @ Notts County getting some rave reviews. Iain Dowie said he was impressive when watching Brighton game the other night. County only 3 points above Relegation zone so they wont want to part with him. Any decent league 1 players will have to force a move rather than rely on club being ok with the move espcially a loan move which has no real financial benefit other than a possible permenat deal to follow in the summer.

  3. I am always more confident when Barnard plays. He is our fox in the box and links up well with Lambert. I hear what you are saying about pace but I feel Barnard is much more likely to score than forte. Forte scoring record not great either. Come 70 mins and we need a goal then his pace may have an impact. Lets hope he comes on to save Barney's legs which will be a good sign.
  4. does anyone actually know on here how long Morgan is out for?
  5. It seems he is prepared to reject other championship teams in favour of saints as long as the terms are right for him. It seems strange that he doesnt know what the offer is though. I wonder if saints have deliberately tried unsettling him with the potential of getting a better deal. That said he is happy at Reading albeit wants more games so Sainmts need to be careful with this as they could lose him, assuming they actually want him in the first place rather than use him as a red herring to get another player on the cheap.
  6. looking at their board of directors they are from high profile roles at large companies such as cisco so I dont suppose they are on small salaries. Although there is no financial results for the company it does seem they are very well established and importantly they are in an industry which feels less effect of the recession then most. they were ranked as the 29th fastest growing company in the UK back in 2003 which was only 5 years after forming.
  7. Reading chronicle seem to think he is on the verge of joining us on loan although they may be as reliable as the echo for all I know. http://www.readingchronicle.co.uk/sport/roundup/articles/2011/03/17/51157-tabb-set-to-sign-new-deal-but-howard-on-verge-of-loan-move/
  8. does anyone know of any pubs in fareham that screen saints games?
  9. should take a good following to both plymouth and brentford games as they will be crucial. hopefully get a good allocation. i think we will get quite a few for the plymouth game.
  10. Arsenal recalled him due to injury there end.
  11. Seabourne is utter rubbish. At fault for both goals it looked like. Going forward we look good but we need to keep hold of the ball for longer. 2-0 up we should have kept the ball but instead we invited pressure by giving it away cheaply. Come on saints wecan win this, they have 4 dan seabournes in their defence.
  12. I know it seems quiet on the saints front but why are people posting about non saints related transfers? i am personally not that intersted in other clubs transfer dealings unless it directly effects saints. If i wanted to know about all transfers then I would go to Skysports or BBC website not saints fans forum!
  13. Ssn say fee agreed with ipswich and player able to discuss terms.
  14. Ssn just said Austin transfer to one of four clubs could be imminent. Four clubs are saints blackpool burnley and ipswich. Austin not in training today.
  15. Ask him how he felt being labelled a world class player by the dutch no hopers
  16. great business thinking by NC as it assures a good attendence for carlisle game which is what he is paid to do but cant help thinking it is a bit steep to ask a family of four to shell out £100 plus ticket cost for carlilse. so potentially £150.
  17. I think Utd will rest some key players (giggs, rooney, vidic, scholes). I know they played pretty much full strength team against liverppol but that was because it was a derby and they never want to lose them. Although their second team aint bad it would give us a sniff of a chance. If we play to our max and they play a weakened team you never know.
  18. why would Holloway have his car at the hotel? surely they all travelled down by coach or flew down.
  19. like adkins said in his post match interview the lad still struggles to complete 90 minutes and ends up with cramp. maybe theo walcot was pushed too hard and thats why he is very much injury prone. IMO he is better off staying at saints for next 2 seasons so his body can develop and withstand the rigours of premiership football. in 2 seasons time we may even be in the premiership so no need to move:)
  20. the OS injuries and suspensions page mentions no injuries and the brentford preview classed him as "doubtful". I know they like to keep injury situations private so I ask what is the point of having an injury list page if they dont use it or keep it up to date? Obviously anyone who saw him against cheltenham would know he was in serious pain therefore this is not shock news albeit very disapointing news.
  21. Agreed he did a good job but he never had a Plan B which was one of NC's gripes with him which was suggested in his interview yesterday. I think our football is better under Adkins from the games I have see.
  22. NC recognises Nige as having a Plan B which is one of the significant changes he has made since coming to the club. I would agree with that even though his tinkering hasn't always worked i.e Carlisle but at least he is prepared to change things and surprise the opposition. Problem with AP was that Plan A was great against the right opposition but certain games he needed a Plan B which never materialised i.e Oldham (home), Wycombe (away) ........
  23. Barnard has a hernia which is why he doesnt complete 90 minutes very often. Adkins is "managing" his injury which means he plays 60 mins or so at which point the hope is that he had made an impact and we have a comfortable lead. the problem is if we are behind or need a goal then I doubt we have the firepower on the bench to turn games around. we are definately more effective with barnard in the team.
  24. can't believe how many boring saddo's on this thread who worry about a chant being "cringeworthy". it is just banter and whether you think it is funny or not it still gets a reaction from the opposition fans therefore the chant did what it was suppose to do.
  25. Brightons formation in the 1st half was almost a 4-1-2-1-2. one midfielder in hole behind two strikers and other midfielder sitting in front of defence. the amount of pocession and space we had in the 1st half was astonishing. Really we would have been home and dry by half time but for lack of killer instinct. lambert is well of the pace at the moment. we definately play better with barnard in the team but his hernia injury means he cant complete 90 mins which is a problem for us if we need a goal. guly touch and passing is awful. on a bright note some of our play especially in the 1st half was sublime with lallana showing majestic touches. he should have had a pen for sure. ref should have booked him for diving if not a pen. why would he have gone down when he was in a great position to score other then cus he was fouled.
