  2. I hope all our strikers will have a clean sheet and a new perspective on things now the new manager's in and our tactics change again, Gallagher and J-Rod included.
  3. Will be pleased if we do start playing a more offensive game. Loved the "Southampton press" under Poch, would be happy with more of that exciting, energetic football. Would probably suit J-Rod better too if he's up for staying!
  4. Hopeful stuff. Very much looking forward to the new season. Now let's see if we can keep Virgil!
  5. Yes, one can only imagine what they did to him. I wonder if the results of the post mortem will be made public.
  6. Would be a gamble to go for a managerial novice, but he has done well at NYC. I wouldn't mind giving him a try.
  7. Of course it is. You think fire-proof building materials are some sort of revelation un-affordable in 21C London? Materials on the cheap is what they were and I predict a scandal in the making providing it's not covered up (excuse pun).
  8. The tarted up cladding is there to appease the views of the nearby rich West Londoners. Please remember, the tower residents are poor people in a Tory council with Tory government. Fire-proofing the accommodation of the poor will not be a priority.
  9. Never really got the players motoring in the league. The difference for me was how they performed in the cup final (ok, albeit losing) compared to some lacklustre league performances. Perhaps the players are as much to blame but ultimately it's gotta rest with Puel. Enjoyed his goal celebrations very much.
  10. Players only stay with a club for less money if they have a personal attachment to it or if they're really inspired by the manager. Even then it's probably very rare in the prem league.
  11. Abbot doesn't seem right. On drugs or ill or something. I'm no fan of hers but she's not usually incoherent to this extent, a bit batty certainly but usually 'alert'! **$sed perhaps.

    Puel out

Spoke to a Man Utd mate today who wasn't impressed with LVG. Very dull, low risk, possession based football with maybe two shots on goal per game. I thought that was what we were trying to get away from?
  13. Vote Labour!
  14. Then he should stand by nuclear disarmament 100% and not fund Trident if that's his policy. There's no point funding something you're not prepared to use, no matter how much diplomacy you have to offer. I understand the unlikelihood but he needed to say he'd use if if necessary. Not doing so might lose votes.
  15. But you must always say that you could.
  16. Corbyn should have sorted out the "would you press it" question...the answer can only be "yes" otherwise why are Labour planning to fund it? Overall May wasn't the disaster I was expecting and Corbyn didn't smash it as much as I'd hoped.
  17. Don't let May read this. It'll be in the manifesto before tea time.
  18. Chelsea's finances over the years are shocking. I'd be embarrassed to support them.
  19. His English is excellent, and that counts for something! Would be a coup but expect he'll get better offers elsewhere.
  20. Ah, but we have European rivals now! Just not next season.
  21. I like it. Hopefully it won't be skin tight though which seems to be the fashion these days.
  22. Kuenssberg is the worst of them all. Enemy of the people, spreading her pro-Tory propaganda all over the BBC. I don't mind bias from ITV or Sky, but when we're forced to pay a fee for 'independent, impartial and honest' reporting, and they abjectly fail, they should go.
  23. Yes, I notice he's appearing on everything at the moment and is coming across well. He needs to counter the BBC which has become a party political broadcast for the Conservative party. So biased it's embarrassing.
  24. I'd like us to sign a midfielder who can shoot. Someone above mentioned Sigurdsson - I doubt we'd get him but yes, someone similar.
