Yes you are right Wes I have used the wrong word If Cortese was a reasonable bloke I doubt there would be talk about Dark Forces but people are amazed about his behavior and get upset . I know someone who used to work there and from what they have told me it is not the best place to work because of wild behavior. What if we sold Lambert in the window or he got injured then we would need someone it is better to see who is around and what they are like instead of panicing at the last moment. It does not say we are going to buy him just monitoring him that is what scouts do I thought

I dont see that the journalism is poor but I do think that you just want to criticise. The article quotes the Italian football club as saying that Southampton are monitoring the progress of an 18 year old in Serie B Surely is good that SFC are looking everywhere for young talent to develop

It does appear that Dell Days thinks our team and manager are better than they are. They are both relatively young and inexperienced in the PL which makes it very difficult to grind out wins. I dont doubt most will become decent PL players but it will take a little time something we dont have at the moment To survive we need say another 32 points in 27 games 8 wins 8 draws 11 losses not impossible but so far 1 win 2 draws 8 losses so it is going to be difficult

Well if there is no interference to Adkins my estimation of him is going down perhaps after all he is not up to the job. Poor transfer policy strange team selection poor tactics and substitutions but I think he should be given at least another six games to see if results improve.

There will always be positives Cork Shaw etc but as Mr Garrett says Swansea were poor and had players missing and came for a draw and if we are to survive in the PL we need some wins so I am slightly disappointed. So if we cannot beat a poor Swansea side at home which team are we going to beat the next three games are going to be interesting as we do need a couple of wins one of which needs to be against Norwich I would have thought

That is without doubt the most strange line up I have seen for sometime a team with a defence and an attack and no midfield I suppose it could confuse the opposition But none of the others have worked so perhaps this one would work but I doubt that it will take the field

Do you suggest that nothing is done and the team heads back to the championship Just because Adkins did well with lots of money for players in League 1 and the Championship does not mean he will do well with a a young and inexperienced squad in the PL

Benietz would not work for Cortese would he I still feel the responsibility for the dire situation lies with Cortese wanting to play 4 3 3 and getting in strange signings of players not good enough for the PL

I think your thread is quite a good one without threads what would be the point of the forum the team is not doing very well so most threads will illustrate this fact. I still think the team got out of the Championship too early and that is the cause of our problems on another thread I said Cortese failed in a five year plan to get us consolidated in the PL I did not mean he had failed period but that he had failed in getting the team consolidated in the PL both him and Adkins did a really good job in getting us promoted but it could be a one season wonder like Reading.

Much as to be expected - we returned to the PL too early with inexperienced PL players and coaches and the transfers in have yet to make their mark this season It is going to be difficult to start playing really well and being hard to beat not impossible but highly unlikely dont really see what would be gained by sacking Adkins as he was always going to struggle with the squad he was given and the need to play the Southampton way. I would be happy if we played the West Ham way and ground out a few results

I too have supported this club for over 50 years and agree that Cortese should start communicating. This man who takes 100s of thousands out of the club failed in his five year plan to get us to PL and consolidate the team there I know we got to the PL in three years which was fantastic but this has caused the problems we have today as the squad contains too many players which are not of PL standard and was evident last Tuesday at Leeds. If we had been in the Championship for a further two years we would have recruited better players and those already here would have become more experienced. However I realise that you cannot guarantee promotion in any season but as our transfer policy seems to have affected Nigel badly as the transfers he was talking about before the season started did not happen it would be a good idea to know what the clubs intended plan for the next five years actually is including the possibility of relegation and to mention who is going to own the club over that period

There do seem to be a number a large number players with contracts who are not good enough for the PL So I dont think the club expected to be in the PL so quickly

Cortese like Adkins is out of his depth A small time banker running a small desk to a CEO running a PL football club a step too large
