As I have no knowledge of the relationship of the Liebherrs with Cortese and have no knowledge of what the Liebherrs feel abot Southampton Football Club I think everything is conjecture. With no debts on the Stadium and a large fanbase some of whom are a little too critical I might say the club is financially stable and I would suggest that there would be little change if we were taken over. It is not as though we are like Man City paying out regularly for highly paid players
  2. You are right no details as yet
  3. If we were in the Premier league and OX was playing for Bournemouth no doubt we would be interested in him The top teams want the best players We are far from being a top team at the moment
  4. I was hoping for Saints to have been higher in the League as I dont think the teams are as strong as last season Sheff Wed lost to Swindon today so if we play as we have in recent weeks we will finish in the top six and hopefully in the top two
  5. Not at home against Brentford but yes away at Hartlepool
  6. Yes Fonte missed the home game against Brentford when hopefully Seabourne will be fit
  7. Most of my best memories of SFC are associated with Cups Beating Man Gity and Ipswich in the early 1960s The Cup Run in 1963 The European Nights at the Dell 1976 The Trip to Anderlecht in 1977 The Semi final and Final in 1978/9 The Semi Finals in the 1980s The XDS Final The Final in 2003 The JPT in 2010 So I will be looking forward to beating Blackpool in January as well
  8. I expected that we would be in a higher position other fans are happy where we are because they think we are playing better football which is fair enough but only time will tell if we get promoted. I just dont think at the moment we have a squad which is going to get us into the top two but as I only watch a game a month I maybe wrong. However if we get at least 10 points from the next four games I will extremely happy and will then think that we may indeed get into the top 2 by the end of the season
  9. My thoughts are similar to you but I would give 7/10 because of the recent improvement
  10. There are also a lot of mongs on this board who expected us to win the League this season as you say we will see in May. I would be surprised if Brighton fans were that different from ourselves
  11. Yes were are struggling to keep up with the top teams at the moment which is surprising with all the money spent we are not even in the play offs and it is the end of November We are not doing badly but unfortunatelely not doing as well as most fans expected at the start of the season
  12. I hope you enjoyed your visit to St Mary's and will be back next season when we are both in the Championship I think your analysis is very interesting I think we lost impetus after about 35 mins and never fully recovered
  13. I thought was a poor game with very few chances and a few some strange refereeing decisions but certainly not ruined by the Ref. Brighton came for a draw and got it SFC knew that was probably going to happen and failed to respond. Jaidi was a liability in the second half but excellent in the first
  14. Although we had a lot of the ball we hardly tore them apart making very few clear cut chances and set play s were terrible
  15. I doubt if Adkins will get an imnterview for the next England Manager but I expect Harry will
  16. Apart from managing SFC has been very successful in football management so much so that he is probably the best English manager at the moment. He may have spent money but he has done it wisely and his teams are very attack minded he also seems to be fairminded and realistic as oppossed to Mr Wenger whose behavior I thought was a disgrace
  17. I must not lose game I would have thought but I am pretty confident of winning
  18. How did he play today
  19. not if we lose 5 4
  20. Yes you are of course right Terry Paine was signed from Winchester and Doddy from Bath City
  21. I think you will find that it is extremely common for replies sent from the CEO are penned by subordinates so it would not be a surprise if this happened at SFC. Cortese would better employed doing other things than answering letters
  22. Or perhaps they are not happy with the atmosphere at Southampton where promotion is required at all costs and wish to earn their living elsewhere
  23. I do not think Lowe ruined us he may well have contributed to our relegation but he got us a stadium a FA CUP FINAL and other things with very little money. On the other hand Cortese got us a JPT Trophy and an under performing team despite the backing of a billionaire and has upset the press old players and some season ticket holders so some fans may not think he is with out criticsism
  24. I dont see what is wrong with people having views about Chaiman of Football Clubs many I recall had issues with Rupert Lowe Left Back has an issue with NC I think you have to accept that fact that LB has these issues and you have to live with them I used to have an issue last season that lots of posters were saying in Pardew we trust but they genuinely thought Pardew was going to lead us to the promised land so I accepted there comments but did not fully agree with them. Looking Forward to Tuesday's game without Puncheon a win will probably be a turning point in the season a loss I cannot really contemplate
  25. Not personal As I agree with you too Similarly with Wally Downes for me as well
