Brussels is OK for a long weekend. We lived there for a few years before we went to the middle east and really enjoyed it. Plenty of things to see over a weekend - of course if you are near Heysel you can see the atomium - built for the 1958 world fair - I don't think its been updated since and should be put in a museum itself. Belgium is famous for it's beers - loads of bars with hundreds of differet beers. Could keep you going for the weekend. And if you want to see something really different - take the tram out to the old Royal Park in Tervuren a few miles out of town (my kids went to the British School there btw) to see the Museum of Central Africa. This shows how Belgium basically raped and pillaged it's way through what is now the Congo. I used to work for the old Belgian oil company Petrofina - until it was taken over by the frogs (total). Our head office was in Rue de la Loi which is one of the main drags out to the EC place. During the war it was the HQ for the SS in Belgium. It was a really creepy place to work (that includes the belgians) and the archives were stored in three levels of basements which reputedly were used for different levels of torture by the SS.

With 7 subs allowed on the bench NA can afford to include 1 or even 2. Usually when the subs are named you know who is most likely to come on during the game. So if we are comfortably winning with 10 or 15 mins to go the opportunity is gpoing to be there to blood the youngsters.

I loved this quote from that tosser SC which should really have read

What about Saturday are you most looking forward to?

Relaxing in a bar in Croatia. This was a really really difficult desicion to make - business trip including wife or Walsall at home, which I have a ticket for (taken by daughter!). Had to make the desicion a few weeks ago and felt we would wrap it up at Plymouth - luckily I was there yesterday as well, so will celebrate on the slightly warmer adriatic coast on Saturday but my thoughts will be at St Marys -
Seems a popular choice!! Which I agree with. Anyone who was there will still be shaking their head in disbelief that we lost that one. And apart from the unexplained hiccup at Rochdale, that defeat at Walsall appeared to really galvanise the minds of the whole saints squad and management team. Of course the real defining game was yesterday - confirming promotion. Again lucky enough to be there and I'm still buzzing.

apert from the excitement of phillipine saint (aka uaepete) being in town (we are old mates from the UAE)..... For me any win is a great win - especially at this time of the season. But I was really concerned with our midfield. Nobody dominated. Too many balls given away. I hope we can get Lallana back asap and morgan would be immense even for the last couple of games. These two are the most comfortable players on the ball I have seen in this division. Dickson - I thought he had a poor game today - that's what I love about football, everyone sees things differenly. Guly - you just never know what he is going to do next - amazing player - good or bad. Connelly was my man of the match today. As soon as he came on he put a spark into saints play. Can somebody xplain to me how rochdale beat us on tuesday and then lose at home to Brentford today?? football is so bizarre and unpredictable - I love it -

Go on - throw yourself to the Lions - that will make you feel better!!! -
A bit late but I couldn't be bothered to add it onto the post-match thread. I got a ticket in the south stand, on the left of the saints fans, and happened to be in the middle of the the lowest form of pond life from the east end of london. I know this area reasonably well as both my daughters have lived in Bethnal Green in the past but it was an eye opener sitting in the middle of them (made the hard cases in the northam seem like very pleasant people!!). Luckily I managed to move to an end of row seat. I went armed with my camera but obviously it would have looked a bit odd if I'd been taking pics of the saints all afternoon. Here's my video from the end of the game- the saints fans were awsome all game, and even though the "locals" thought they were robbed of two good goals (:lol:), and that the ref was crap (I loved the saints chant about clattenberg - "premier league - having a laugh"), they really were impressed with our following and said it was the best all season including arsenal in the cup.

Not in the UK North Sea for the foreseeable future after the chancellor hiked petroleum tax from 20 to 32%. This has already forced several companies to reassess the economic viability of future projects. As posted elsewhere - head to warmr climes like Brazil with it's booming economy.

Come on - everyone is gullible in skateland

re my post somewhere above - they have pay on the gate on the day - obviously not for away fans, but you've only got to put on your east lahndon accent and there shoudn't be any problems

Just reading that Brighton played 8 in March and won all of them - which has probably sealed promotion for them. Hopefully we'll emulate that in April

Charlton 1 - 1 Saints - Post Match Reaction
dellboypete replied to Saint_clark's topic in The Saints
chatting to some of the "locals" in the queue for the train afterwards, most of them seemed ecstatic with a point and all agreed (with each other) that that was the best charlton had played for ages. Until last night a lot of charlton fans seemed genuinely to fear relegation. I suspect that they will be a tough one for uddersfield in a couple of weeks. I have to say in the first half I could see why they have plummeted down the table - I thought they were very poor. Lallana going off screwed up our midfield which wasn't helped by Chamberlain going as well. I didn't think we were as bad as many here here think. At times we were passing the ball really well and with a bit of luck could have carved out a lot more chances. You've got to be disappointed with just a point as the win was there for the taking. We should have wrapped it up in the first half. Having said that, I'm happy with a point (he says contradicting himself) A lot of the charlton fans in said queue thought that their "over the line" effort was over the line, and that we were really unlucky with the offside decision. I'll wait to see the highlights on telly, but it didn't look offside to me! -
May have been posted elsewhere but things don't look good in the Charlton camp. Just been perusing a message board (before I escape to the aforementioned Market Porter) http://www.charltonlife.com/forum/comments.php?DiscussionID=40456&page=1#Item_0 Several great quotes
