I am very pleased we have a manager we can all look forward to backing. Has a reasonable record and with us being able to buy we could see some early movement in the transfer market. Look forward to seeing him on Saturday. Let's give him and Markus a right royal Saints welcome.
-
Just take your mask of, that should do it.

Will there be anyone taking a 5yo to the games this season? I am considering a season ticket for both me and him and wonder where to go thinking of him.
-
Another Saint left to rot who makes it elsewhere?
-
Charlton had no money just like us last season. We now have some for the new man. I would be happy enough but he (Pardew)isn't my first choice.
-
I have mentioned AP previously and do think that he would be ok. Alan Curbishley would be my choice though ahead of all the others. He did a good job at Charlton with strictly limited resources. I would hope that being able to spend would give him more scope re the squad capabilities. Though the same could be said of Pardew. Either of them could be a good choice and I am sure will have our full backing.

Why would Pulis bring callers beckoning? He has just finished a year out injured and by all accounts was not at the races in his appearance last week. I, personally hope that he can do well for us this season.

Leftfield Idea for Management Team...
SFC Forever replied to Channon's Sideburns's topic in The Saints
First thing is how much the new owner wants to spend on the club right away. Will he be prepared to buy someone from a contract or will he pick someone from the unemployed section. Steve Coppell could be more interested now that his coach has left Reading as well. Curbishley and Pardew are getting mentioned a bit now and I would prefer Pards. Paul Stimpson is one I think could do a good job as is Scunny's manager. Tisdale we have all seen spoken about and I would expect to receive a warm welcome if chosen but it seems most unlikely. I don't know why but I have a hunch we could end up with a name that is well known and well respected. -
I didn't know we could score goals like this...

I could watch them over and over again. In fact I just did -
Yes we are running out of time if we want to blast straight from kick off with a huge run of wins. However I believe the new man whoever it turns out to be will be able to find a few players in the time left. He also has a chance to bring in loanies once he has seen where we are at our weakest. Hopefully the two triallists will prove to be usefull and will acept whatever we can offer them. If we can get away from the bottom by Xmas I think we will be relatively satisfied. Come January we should again be able to strengthen where necessary. It is possible for us to make a late push for a playoff spot but let us be thankfull we have at least got the chance to see our team play. Another name mentioned elsewhere today as a possible manager was Alan Pardew. My doubt would be his cost. He does have a bit of experience but maybe not enough for our level.

I am just glad we still have a club and team to see.

The better players tend to earn more and several retire and go on to non football ways of earning. The lower paid journeymen are still looking for their big payday and have to keep working. Plus as stated previously there are more inferior quality players about to pick from.

Of our experienced strikers I much prefer Stern. The other two don't seem over interested in us any more. Of those mentioned above Lambert could do a job for us as could Sodje.

I simply meant that right now it would interest me more seeing the various names produced as possible targets. The events that have occured can wait till all is settled. They won't go away as they are now part of our history. Right now I want to know that my/our team will not get the same results as it did last season.

We keep raking over old news and stories. Some may even be close to the truth, but at the end of the day I am more interested in what will happen next. Who will be our manager? When will he be appointed? Who will he be buying to improve our desperately weak side? When will we be buying them? Will we be ready for the big kick off?
-
I'll go along with that.
-
Once we have chosen the new manager and he has picked a few players for us to cheer on the sT sales will rocket. Gates will be good this year as soon as people realise that last season was as bad as it gets.

You can say the same ting to half a dozen journalists and they will all put a different slant on what was said.

Last season we had to watch a very young and inexperienced team gradually fall apart. There were not enough minders in the team to help the kids and all to often it proved the decisive factor as the kids would lose to men in other teams. We would see week upon week fully grown men brush our boys aside with their superior strength. Adam was in the middle of the park and at the heart of the action. Due to the plans of the management the boy faded and failed to show as much as we had hoped. This season I firmly believe with the right backing he will do the business for us. A few good games and wins will lift the youngsters in a way that nothing else can. Give Adam, Fish and the others a chance I ask of you because this is the season we will see them prosper. Especially as we are likely to have the muscle that was missing last season.

Wotte could well have stayed on becuse he was being paid. Thouh to be fair to him he was trying to do his job to the best of his ability. Therein lies the verdict. His best was just not good enough. He showed a professional attitude and for that I will thank him. He did apparently go after the job in Egypt so he was covering his bases at the same time. After a ridiculous beginning he did learn to show some respect to us the fans. At the end of the day I guess he just was not good enough.

Steve Coppell looked tired and worn out at the end of last seaon. Washed out perhaps. Tony Adams is another from skatesville. Nuff said. Micky Adams is at least a former player and would understand what we the fans require. He might actually enjoy having some sensible money at his mercy. You may laugh but I would prefer him to a washed up old man and a skate. Though if Coppell was here to help Micky I could accept that. Would still prefer someone with a bit of a CV though. Who is there that is free is the main question.

THE ONLY KEANE I WOULD BE INTERESTED IN GETTING IS ROBBIE FROM SPURS. hcdafgjfu

Those going to the game at Bournemouth will see him there and fight to be the first to post his name on here.
-
How the hell can appointing Tony Adams be us making a huge statement of intent? I'm sorry but him and those sentiments just do not go together. Next some bright spark will be asking for him to pick Paul Merson as his running mate.
