  1. To try to win?
  2. We will lose 0-3 against the master tactician JM. Mopo would be his equal if he had the same depth/quality of squad, but clearly this not the case. So I think rest Lambert....put JRod up front and stick Ramirez on left with Lallana on right and Davis in the middle to provide some strength.
  3. Great post....completely agree.
  4. Lovely story and a real Christmas treat for your Son.
  5. Your predictions - (win, draw, lose?) Cardiff (A) - draw Everton (A) - lose Chelsea (H) -lose Burnley (H)* - draw (but this will be treated as a distraction this season and the Academy will likely play) WBA (H) - draw Sunderland (A) - draw Arsenal (H) - lose So three points to the PL tally. Not optimistic TBH, although clearly injuries coming back and then being match fit will play a huge part.
  6. This completely.
  7. Sorry, but I completely disagree. Gazzaniga is just not good enough. His indecision in his penalty area is clear to see - nowhere near the Standard of a top half Prem team. Sorting this out is a massive priority - we've not gained enough points this season to be safe even. Not acting to deal with the goalie situation will have a huge influence over where we end up at the end of the season.
  8. Err, what about Schneiderlin? Or Lovren? Err, or Davis? etc...
  9. See, I don't agree with this on this occasion - we are perfectly positioned to acquire a good keeper. If Cropper is good enough then fine, go with him otherwise don't **** away the season and get in some decent re-enforcements.
  10. How often do Managers get sacked the Monday after a Chairman gives a vote of confidence. This is not over yet and anyway, there will be huge indecision over the situation. PLUS, we are Saints - we play OUR way and we should not be distracted by the turmoil at another club.
  11. Agreed. He may have the attributes for League 2 or even League 1, which lets face it is where we were when he was purchased. He is light-years away from being good enough at this level. Not his fault if he's put in that position to be fair.
  12. So if he was to position himself further forward, he would leave a gaping hole BEHIND him...I'm no defender, but I would rather I had the offensive player in FRONT of me in terms of anticipating what next.
  13. Yep - hate to single out a particular player, but today Gazzanogood cost us big time.
  14. Utter tripe. Fox did get clipped, as did many of our players with no action from the Ref. Spurs played a niggly dirty game and got away with it basically - Fox got caught and was hobbling which is why he was taken off.
  15. I heard today that there is a sickness bug going through the club and that certain players had been rested to protect them ahead of a busy period. Dunno how true, but seems likely. Apart from the OG (which could have happened to anyone) - I thought Jos had an OK game TBH.
  16. If today's abject performance from Gazzaniga (my assessment is that any of the outfield players would have put up a better display) is anything to go by, Cesar's salary demands are looking somewhat more palatable to Cortese! I would not normally slate any Saints player, but this was an incompetent display. It's not his fault as such - he can only do what he can do - but Cortese has to support his Manager and sanction a decent loan keeper with Prem experience. Cesar is that keeper.
  17. Gazzanogood is the worst keeper I have ever seen in a Saints shirt...simple dreadful and you cannot blame Fox for most of today's shocking errors. OK Fox may not be good enough for this level as a first starter, but he did enough to be show he is an OK squad player. Gazzanogood is nowhere near good enough to be worthy of even a bench place.
  18. Late to the show, but then the thread has taken me three days to read, digest and analyse. The simple fact is that in the concourse, the food choice is poor, the food quality is poor and the service is not great too. I learnt this some several seasons ago after the collapse of the Lowe regime BTW and since then, I've settled for a flask of coffee and a self-assembled sarnie (never prawn - I hate the smell of fish around me at football). The exception to this is when I use the one and only decent burger van on the way in to the ground (I'm not saying which one as too many of you fatties will take too long ordering and hold me up).
  19. My predictions... Liverpool vs. Cardiff (1245) - Liverpool win Palace vs. Newcastle - Draw Fulham vs. Man City - City win Man Utd vs. West Ham - Utd win Stoke vs. Aston Villa - Stoke win Sunderland vs. Norwich - Draw West Brom vs. Hull - Draw, although Brom might nick it
  20. This game has got draw written all over it. Again.
  21. Congrats...first one is always a bit special...probably the shock!
  22. Would place a huge burden of risk on a club operating a top Academy like Saints. Just imagine...Saints invest big bucks in the development of a youngster, but his head could be turned by big wages and off he goes. Having said that, I suspect contract conditions would be tightened...something like "we develop you until you're 18, then you commit to us until you're at least 23"...I think something like that would be OK.
  23. Areed. Top signing, but wage demands would kill a deal possibly?
  24. Problem is you and others just don't get the difference between attacking the subject matter rather than the poster. If everyone did that, this place might return to being an entertaining place to share views. When you post well I actually think you've got some great opinions and humour too, but all too often you allow your sarcasm to get the better of you. You're not the worst and it's not just you plus the Mods should take more action perhaps.
  25. Agreed...we are very lucky to have two of the best English right backs in the country playing for us. It will be harsh on Calum if he loses his place to a returning Clyne IMO.
