  1. On current form maybe but the reality is his current state means he is far more fitted to the England team then to Saints. IMO he will do a far better job in a three lions shirt then he has done for us
  2. Normally I agree with you Nick, but being a stat man yourself Ill level some back. Its important to remember that Lambert has only contributed assists or goals in games against bottom ten opposition with the exception of Spurs. Now, I get the point that contributions count against any team etc but personally if we are looking to progress then you need to be effective against the better teams aswell. The way we play requires a focal point, this was identified in the summer but unfortunately the experiment failed. I would much rather that we had a striker that was firing better infront of goal or even was able to get into goalscoring positions more often. Saint_Garrett put up some analysis of our chances, rarely do we create anything meaningful which I think is due to lacking a quality CF to be the peak of our tactics. Yes Lambert is a hero, yes I am very thankful for what he has done for us but unfortunately yes, he has been ineffective for months now. Which the obvious exception of Fulham who A. Were woeful and B. was only effective when he dropped into the midfield.
  3. No, it was due to him wanting to be elsewhere
  4. That unfit ?!? Christ, I have pops at some of the players I play with for not being fit enough and thats a decent saturday league level, way I see it there is no excuse to not be fit. What makes it even worse is you are talking about professional football. How do you expect to get anywhere half fit ?
  5. Very much this TBH Jesus its embarrassing frankly
  6. Not sure Glasgow gets this football lark to be honest, you're better asking him about fishing
  7. Its not
  8. I said this ages ago, reckon he has top level CB written all over the lad
  9. TBH I dont know nor really care ATM If Im honest I just want to get the next 4-5 months over and done with so I can work out just in what direction we are going as a club as right now we are seemingly rudderless
  10. Well, yes, osvaldo was a tit But Lambert has been pretty ineffective to anyone who can actually understand a football match regardless of what he has done in the past.
  11. Whilst I dont think Jay Rod can play up top in this system I just cant get over the idiocy in this post TBH
  12. Harsh to judge the lad on the end of todays performance. Especially considering Lambert has offered us very little either (puts things into perspective) We just dont have options in this area
  13. My original rivalry was with WillFoxGolf, it all escalated one crazy night in 2010, mr Fox hasnt been seen again since so take that as a warning to all you wannabe's Special mention to MattLeTiss (the poster not the man) he tries hard despite his limited resources. Love you glasgow
  14. He isnt but he has been poor this year
  15. He is an idiot
  16. Who else is there ?
  17. Cleverley simply hasnt progressed, in fact he has regressed Id of said, he has ability but clearly no idea how to use it. Townsend isnt as bad as some make out, he is direct and does cause problems, has a bit to prove between now and Brazil though

    Bale

Despite the circumstances he did play him further forward, Id of said AVB had a big influence too
  19. Ageing Defence and Midfield, Moyes sacking his entire backroom staff and thus killing his integration. Realistically I think they would take Morgan and perhaps Lallana though in reality Mata plugged that gap for them. They still need a couple of defensive midfielders, despite Cork impressing I dont think he is Utd quality. A lot will depend on Moyes next few transfers.
  20. Thats not for me to say, its always going to be difficult which is why it needs to be a strong case to get to court and then stronger to actually win Needless to say, most footballers accept that there is a risk when you take the field, there is no issue with that. Its when certain players go over the top, it happens. Some do it intentionally, some just lose there heads. Regardless completely reckless challenges have no place on any football field
  21. Disagree, I have seen plenty of challenges certainly on a sat/sunday morning that could easily be classed as assault. It wouldnt take the art out of the tackle anyway but of course as a player you have a responsibility not to knowingly go out an injure someone. Besides, I imagibe itll be a strong case required to win and ib this specific case I do t think its strong enough
  22. Not sure why Wilkins gets a bad press, V V V knowledgeable
  23. I think/hope we will start to see changes now, thankfully the FA have started to address weaknesses in coaching and are attempting to influence academy football which is a good thing. The emphesis like I said needs to be in creating a squad of transfereable players that are able to adequately step up into the full team if required, realistically you do that by growing a team from the youth levels and get them used to paying together and using the same tactics throughout the age groups. Still think the sheer amount of games we play in England will have an effect aswell, unfortunately I get the impression that Int football is seen as a hinderance more than anything.
  24. Straight in what ? The U21s ? Doubtful Its about player integration as much as anything, which is why players are called up in groups. Despite the constant crap spouted by the masses players arent just called up because of the club thats just crap. Its due to time constraints imposed on the ability to coach teams at Int level. It works for many of the continental teams as most have 'developed' a team from schoolboy level up, keeping the majority of the side the same and instilling the importance of youth development at young ages and the importance of tournament experience. Unlike us who allow our players to pull out of the youth internationals too frequently.
  25. Not that the English FA have any real idea of how to progress a 'team' from original inception and onto the world stage, its one thing having a group of players with talent, another to fashion a team. Personally I think that its better to gain experience as they grow, I.e keep the u19s and u21s as a unit until such a time as you need them in the full squad.
