  1. Meh it's fair to say it's nice to see Southampton winning this season. But still worried we're not getting more people into the ground I think some of the ticket prices should be lower so we can really get back to the days of 25k + a game, it will be worth it for next season. People are just stating they're enjoying watching Southampton again we all want to get promoted! it goes without saying Delldays.. no need to turn this into an arguement.
  2. I saw some sort of fight in the Northam around the 86th Minute with some bloke getting escorted out, pretty good eyesight considering I was in the Itchen South!
  3. Spoke to a few lads who work at the Echo. Whilst Cortese is a very good chairman so far I think he wanted his name in lights with the announcement of the training ground - The echo found out about the redevlopment and it was in the public domain so they had every right to run a story on it. Of course this annoys Cortese who wanted to announce the story before the Echo did. Now the whole thing has got out of hand. And Ian Murrays comments and actions haven't helped, he even went to the game just to get escorted out. And as well as that Southampton have had to make photographers sign contracts over pictures of the redevelopment, to make sure they don't show them to anyone else. Personally both sides should sort it out, the club needs the paper and it's bad press for it not to be involved with the Echo, whilst the Echo needs the club for readers. Hopefully those in charge at Southampton like Cortese will realise they've made a mistake on this one.
  4. Will Alpine give us some much needed positivity to comment on "hm no clean sheet must do better" We can't get complacent though, we have Tranmere and need to push on, NEXT TARGET top 10.
  5. The obvious candidate for the job has to be Rupert Lowe and I think we should give some honours to that amazing Tottenham manager who guided us in our time of need.
  6. You are joking right. I hope French knock England out too hopefully via a last minute handball by Henry.
  7. Personally we should be getting Whitbread Possibly Kuffour from Rovers to give lambert some pace upfront with him, Jackson won't come here.
  8. If we went into EVERY game expecting to win this club would have no stability and just a bunch of fans calling for every manager to be sacked after a couple of bad results causing instability, the fact is we're not Chelsea/Man Utd or Arsenal. The fans have to be realistic we're starting to build a good team and the fact remains that this season ISN'T about promotion because we started on -10 and building a new side takes time with a new manager and under a new owner. Winning was never the norm for us in the premiership, it never was in the championship and not until next season it shouldn't be in league one because we're not as good as other sides just yet. Leeds had a bad day today but they have more quality than us, I'd say sides like Norwich look better than us, as do Colchester and Huddersfield the fact is we're not quite there yet. As fans we should be happy that we've been saved from administration, we're building a winning side but also be patient because what this club needs is stability and this club has lacked it, we don't have a god forsaken right to be in the premiership and we have to respect the fact this is League one and when other fans chant "you're not famous anymore" they're right we're not, we don't even feel our ground and still lack 10,000 missing fans every home game. I'm on board this saints bus but lets be realistic about it rather than pessimistic whenever there's a small bump on the road.
  9. Walsall aren't a bad side, it's this attitude of lack of respect towards other clubs and expecting a win every game just because we're Southampton and USED to be a big club that annoys me. I think Wycombe could do a Brighton on us and will see we could pull out of the relegation zone if we beat them, there's no doubting it will be a close game of sorts.
  10. Lallana adds something extra to his price tag he can score with his right left and with his head later on you'll probably see him score with his hand.
  11. Waigo SHOOT! If only he didn't dwell on it like me at a newsagents deciding which chocolate bar to get.
  12. Download PP player then use that. :]
  13. Poor mans Joe Cole. But still fantastic at this level.
  14. He's fallen out with Pardew apparently pretty badly.
  15. I'm not that fussed, good talent will unfortunately usually get sold on for a price and relating to a players ambitions but I don't think we'll get that with Adam for one or two seasons. The fact is he's happy clearly where he is and he's Southampton through and through. Under Pardew he's under a manager who clearly wants to build the team around him and he's our creative force, for instance playing Adam in the 'hole' against Norwich and recognising Lallana's talent early on as was reported by Pilchards earlier this season "PASS IT TO ****ING ADAM" was what Pardew said. Now he's scored 11 goals and having fun, and he's improving as a player, and it would take a bid of +3 million to buy him, add to the fact he'll be leaving behind many close mates within the Saints team that he's been bought up in the academy. We'll see plenty more from Adam before he moves teams which he will eventually because there's no doubting in my mind he can play at a better level than what we are.
  16. No I'd rather not have him anywhere near us.
  17. I don't totally agree. We should give some of the youngsters a chance and fringe players but we need a certain spine we should rest Jaidi and play Trotman, and stick Wotton/Hammond in the middle of the park, also give Patterson a run out and Murty at right back.
  18. If anyone has it on the 360 Add Saintsmike. The game is superb apart from the fact the AI sometimes lets you down & also the director has made things MUCH tougher..
  19. Being a student myself most students are harmless and don't get into fights and stuff (Unlike the chavvy bunch who go out on Friday and Saturdays), yes students like to go out and drink but it's the fact when you're 18/19! just going into Uni thats what THEY do, people have to remember when they were that age doing EXACTLY the same thing. I frankly think the Echo are scraping at the bottom of the barrell to sell a story. The fact is both Uni's contribute a huge amount to the economy in the city we should be proud we have two Universities even if Solent isn't very good. Most people who complain about students haven't ever been one and are looking for a scapegoat, we're actually 99% of us just friendly young people trying to earn some qualifications whilst enjoying ourselves at the same time.
  20. I suggest we play 1-5-4 I'm sick of this 4 defenders nonsense, It's about time Alan Pardew let the fans decide what formation the team should play and I'm confident just sticking Lambert at the back whilst recalling Ollie Lancashire to play in goal whilst shoving Super Kelv upfront with Morgan ****hot Schneiderlin, with Jaidi and Wotton as attacking wing forwards.
  21. "Pardew is keen to land Thatcher so he can challenge former Ipswich colleague Ben Harding for the left-back slot in his team." Ben Harding? Shockingly poor journalism.
  22. The problem is James has to stop the floated ball delivery he can inswing them in quite well however outswingers he just floats it to the back post for an easy take for the keeper I'd like to see Morgan have a go at corners he takes them for France U20's apparently and he's got the ability to get a good delivery.
  23. I'm just sad that Morgan is injured losing him meant we lost our domination of the middle however James really put in a good shift in the centre whilst his ball distribution can be a bit too rushed his tackling skills were superb today. I wouldn't give MOM to Lambert, either Lallana/James or Harding were the heroes today. I also think Waigo when he came on played very well tracked back and tackled and posed a big threat. We looked so comfortable until we missed Morgan in the centre. All in all we're on a huge winning run right now and that win shows we CAN beat anyone in this league, we cope well under pressure (although we do conceded some sloppy goals) Jaidi played well with a few blips at times, Thomas apart from the goal looked a bit rusty. The only thing.. we should have scored 4, and had 2 blatent penalties for handball and one tackle on Lambert in the first half.

    Dyer

Nathan Dyer is still a good player whose starting to mature at Swansea, whilst he might perhaps not be as good as Antonio I think his pace scares any defenders. He's scored goals for them and scoring a header in the derby for a player who stands at something like 5 foot 4 is a bit of an achievement!
  25. He's still a Saints player regardless and hasn't played for the first team and I hope he does well at Lincoln some of the things said on here are unfair on him. I hope he does well and Lincoln sign him up permanently because he's deadwood here sadly.
