I don't think there's any chance of that. To be fair, has any club ever targeted mediocrity? We are talking about fiercely competitive people here and I think that to show signs of contentment with our lot would receive short shrift from our new owners. What we finally achieve thus season is one thing, what we strive for is another, and I think AP is striving for the best possible finish he can get, and will be mightily upset if we don't achieve that. By 'that', I mean a play-off place. Even if it becomes mathematically impossible, I still think we will go all out to win every game and finish as high as possible.

Im sure many of you will groan and say that you have heard this a thousand times - but I haven't. It was sent to me by a Manure supporting friend who is well aware of our Poopey rivalry. A young blonde Portsmouth girl, down on her luck, decided to end it all one night by casting herself into the cold, dark waters off Gunwharf Quay. As she stood on the edge, pondering the infinite, a young sailor noticed her as he strolled by. "You're not thinking of jumping, are you babes?" he asked. "Yes, I am." replied the sobbing girl. Putting his arm around her, the kind sailor coaxed her back from the edge. "Look, nothing's worth that. I'll tell you what; I'm sailing off for America tomorrow. Why don't you stow away on board and start a new life over there? I'll set you up in one of the lifeboats on the deck, bring you food and water every night and I'll look after you if you look after me - if you know what I mean. You just have to keep very quiet so that you won't be found". The girl, having no better prospects, agreed, and the sailor sneaked her on board that very night. For the next 3 weeks the sailor came to her lifeboat every night, bringing food and water, and making love to her until dawn. Then, during the fourth week, the captain was performing a routine inspection of the ship and its lifeboats. He peeled back the cover to find the startled blonde, and demanded an explanation. The girl came clean, "I've stowed away to get to America. One of the sailors is helping me out, he set me up in here and brings me food and water every night and he's screwing me." The puzzled captain stared at her for a moment before a grin cracked his face and he replied, "He certainly is pet. This is the Isle of Wight Ferry!"

I think that after a frenetic and heart-stopping last day, coming down to an almighty contraversial incident in injury time in one of the other matches, we will find ourselves in 6th place. I think we will win the JPT Trophy - beating Carlisle in the final. I think we will get past Ipswich as we will raise our game (sorry Bungle but it's a Tuesday night in Tranmere). This will show the players just how well they can play and trigger our run to the play-offs. I will not predict how far we will get in the FA Cup as I don't know who we will draw in Round 5. COYS

MK Dons - JPT area final

I was offered the M25 route from Taunton! I suppose they take the line that it's all motorway. I've studied the maps and will now come off the M4 at Swindon, head to Oxford and then, as you suggest, the most direct route is the A41/A421 via Buckingham to Bletchley/MK. -

Well I mostly agree with you. Seaborne was very nervous in the first half and was trying to over-complicate things. He was better in the second half. For a first showing, chucked in the deep end, I thought all 4 (I include Harding as they were just as much of a stranger to him) played very well. As you say, the midfield was letting Millwall through onto them far too often which only goes to strengthen the excellence of their display. Such a shame that one error cost us. Of the 3 new boys, Fonte was the real stand out though. I was also quite impressed by our other new player - chap by the name of Holmes! I hope he gets a run in the team to build his sharpness and match fitness. Oh well, now I've started I may as well give my overall assessment - it's much quieter on this thread without the vitriol and tit-for-tat point-scoring being spewed forth on the main thread. The 4 horsemen of the Apocalypse seem to have gone to bed as well. We did what we have done so many times this season, played well in spurts and then have a game of 'hoof to Lambert' or headers keepy-uppy. Antonio is dynamite - he is so strong! Connolly was missed and I don't think we will see him in any more than small cameos because of his fitness problems. Anyway, as ever Keep the Faith COYS The Ronmobile takes to the tarmac for MKDons on Wednesday.

Apparently they have not been playing James even though he is fit, because of a wage increase due him soon. So, by doing this Poopetry have dented his chances of representing England in the World Cup this summer, and are, therefore, now guilty of betraying their country and therefore should be up before the beak on a charge of no less a crime than.... HIGH TREASON!!!

What are your interests? I decided at an early stage to make my interests my job after drifting through some boring jobs. I started 'doing what I wanted to do' by joining the Ordnance Survey as a draughtsman, as I liked Geography and drawing, which led me into Archaeology (outdoor job with travel), which, 25 years later, I still pursue along with 'heritage engineering and historic building renovation', supplemented with the occasional book illustration/copy editing contract, and it's worked out OK for me. The OS are on your doorstop, if your interested in that kind of thing, try them? I get the feeling you're going through hard time at the moment - take care.
